It is important to note that some of those characters are, in fact, underage. So... a bit sketchy to put them in "sexy" poses...

You do realize these are FICTIONAL characters and these are just toys ?? I hope you weren't being serious.

She is one of the old school ML that will stand the test of time...she is differently worth it, and she is easily better than any of the newer ML IMO...when they made her, they really paid attention to detail...happy hunting...

...don't pile on Jeddostotle7. He simply stated his opinion and while it may have come off as a little judgemental, it wasn't excessive or heavy handed.

I still love that Gray Hulk. I remember when he first came out and he was selling for a lot. I stumbled upon one at a WalMart one night (along with a Mecha Hulk). Picked them both right up.

TheBlueMarvel 12-03-2016 09:30 AM

@Spyne

Yeah, love the fig too..."Roaring 20's" motif and all!!!

It'd be nice to see a new Fixit, or any Hulk figure for that matter, from Hasbro.

...I have two Mecha Hulks...one is broken and I bought it that way to serve as a battle damaged version! lol

Joe fixit is probably my favorite era of hulk. And his frequent team ups with " patch " were just great fun and enjoyable storytelling. Not like today were everything is a freakin pc agenda.

Love this shot! Perfect for a Doctor Strange pic, doesn't need to make sense or have an explanation. Just some trippy colors and a whole lot of strange goings-on!

TheBlueMarvel 12-03-2016 10:49 AM

@Red,

Thanks! I thought the same thing and nearly titled it "Dr Weird." As I was assembling my mummies, I wondered if my intention to cast the mummy in the foreground as the true threat was reading well enough. Or whether it would be obvious that the mummies were the same; a point I tried to highlight by making certain the signet rings on both were visible to those paying attention to detail...or the fact that one mummy was floating while the other was lumbering...and the mummies are actually different sizes...then I decided that none that mattered. It's supposed to be batshit crazy, it's Dr Strange! lol

I was under the impression that everyone knows I commission all my Customs. I never take Credit for something I did not Do.

TheBlueMarvel 12-03-2016 11:25 AM

@Nite

I'm glad you like it, man! Thanks!

@Ken

I knew. You usually state as much when you initially mention some custom of yours. I think many people just forget or don't see the original post...

i agree with you on that !!! i still have the one that was released prior to the legends. i believe the toys were supposedly based on the cartoon series. Anywhoo that one has always been my favorite grey Mr.Fixit hulk.

TheBlueMarvel 12-03-2016 02:12 PM

@Don

Do you mean the pre-Legends 5POA figs?

I miss those days. The comics were just fun and enjoyable to read. Now there'a always a overarching story that in a year gets rebooted and doesn't matter anyway.

I think he means this one.

Jeddostotle7: I wasn't aiming to be creepy or sketchy, I just was trying to capture something in the essence of classic "coming of age" comedies such as Porkys or American Pie, films in which the very teenage characters are constantly fantasizing and in pursuit of the fairer sex.

The original shot I was going to use also featured Black Cat, Silk, and Enchantress, but I opted to keep them out of the photos afterwards due to the height difference, and the in comic age difference of those characters. While a comedic plot device in the film's, I didn't want anyone giving the appearance of being a cougar or of "Stifler's Mom" (which is a truly creepy prospect when you think of it as it involves the real life societal issue of statutory rape) so I thought the wiser to keep at least all of the characters to be around the same age.

Besides, the teen female Legends in most cases have much better articulation than many of their adult counterparts for some reason.

@BoyBlunder: true, Mayday being there is a bit wierd considering the relations, but think about poor Ultimate Jessica Drew. She IS Peter (both genetically and mentally!)

Then wouldn't that technically just be really intricate masturbation?

I guess. I'm just always a bit cautious when people put underage characters in a sexy light, 'cause a surprisingly large amount of adults think it's totally ok to get off to underage teens.

I have always found it weird that the teen female bodies have better articulation, though, as well.

That gets into weird philosophical stuff about whether a clone is a separate entity or not, and what makes a person a unique entity. Kinda reminds me of the game SOMA (not specifically the masturbation thing).

I wanted them to be diverse. The whole underlying principal of the X-Men was to try to be an anti-bigotry story to show there’s good in every person.
Stan Lee, on the creation of the X-Men. Comics have always been political, just because when you started reading them you were too young to understand the political themes doesn't mean they weren't there.

Absolutely. For another example, Captain America was created to get America fighting in WWII, as the US wasn't particulary interested in participating in mid 1940.

lordbest 12-03-2016 09:21 PM

Yes. Created by Jewish men to represent the Aryan ideal rejecting Aryanism and Nazism.
Also Superman fought the KKK, in the 1940s.

haha I thought as much with the mummies, though following a Doctor Strange narrative the openness to interpretation in your pic takes the whole shot to another level...plane...dimension...:D

Great figure, though I'm disappointed that it'll be a long shot in getting the rest of the Runaways to join her.

TheBlueMarvel 12-03-2016 09:36 PM

There's no missing the anti-bigotry themes of the X-men. Missing the allegory might indicate reading comprehension issues, or the donning of deliberate blinders...

@triv

Damn, dude...get out of my head, that's exactly what I was thinking. I liked that one...not the hat, though.

EDIT:

@Red

Oh, wow! That makes me feel good that you saw that! lol Thanks! But what you mentioned about the openness to interpretation is something I need to think about moving forward...
