Thinking about it now, the Hulk head from the Avengers founders pack on the body of the Wolverine comic pack hulk would be PERFECT as how Erik Larsen drew him in Defenders Vol. 2. He had that whole Frankenhulk thing going on.

Classic Avengers Hulk is a underrated figure.

I have some loosies that I'd be happy to experiment with, but no paint thinner, so if any arker out there has sacrificial loosies, and paint thinner pour a cup, leave a fig in there for a few mins and see what happens.

I dont think that's the case at all- if it were just paint, we'd have seen them make a "fade to visibility" kinda fig- or at least have seen paint rub revealing clear.
Making the fig in the color plastic of the costume avoids paint rub and painting interior joints and such would be a nightmare at the factory.

That being said, 90% alcohol removes MU paint easilt and a bottle costs about a buck. Never use thinner of action figures- it'll soften the plastic!
If you're making a custom and want to start over (for example), use easy Off or Simple Green, whic are plastic-friendly!

I was thinking you could add flame or water effects (even ice once you get good at it) with the glue gun effects technique- which would be cool as hell for the torches or Iceman, Phionex, Firestar etc.

I was thinking on the same vein for Magneto- only instead of tinting clear glue, you could get a bunch of small (unrecognizable) model parts and glue them to a clear flight stand, making a long skinny pillar of metal debris for Mags to stand on top of...

The Amazing Spider-Man Grappling Hook Action Figure - Hasbro - Toys "R" Us

I picked one up from our "guy in China" for the fun of it. I dig the sculpt. Short sleeves. Sneakers are kinda oddball, which is cool. The lower legs are interesting. Runner legs.

I agree w proteus that a leg swap would benefit the fig. Can't beat the price.

It probably has something to do with the fact that Wolverine would do something rather nasty to him if he doesn't keep a lid on it. Not that DP wouldn't survive it (Logan cut his head off once and he got better), but DP has learned that not talking is better than not being able to talk.

Or it could be that the writers of the X-Force books didn't want to bother with DP's gimmick, either due to the tone or their concern they might not get it right and throw the whole thing off. Merely speculation, of course.

I think it's simply that Rick Remder is a superior writer- Deadpool is actually funny in X-Force while the book retains it's grim tone.
He's also occasionally deadly serious there, like how he was angey Phantomex killed the Apoclypse child.

I'm really disappointed in Toys R' Us, at least, my local one. They took all of their Iron Man 2, Captain America, and Thor lines OFF of clearance, and put them in a huge up-front display next to their Avengers line. Also: $7.99 for 2007 Avengers Heroclix, when they haven't carried Heroclix outside of special things for years.

mikefavata 05-17-2012 07:51 PM

Haha I think they did that at every TRU. Even had new cases of IM2 (now IM3), Cap & Thor delivered to some.

While every other store has tried to get rid of their stock...

Oh well, it gives people a shot at some of the previous rare figures I guess.

Marvel Fever. It's everywhere. The movie changed everything.

Makes you wonder if they held on to cases of their old figures, waiting for Avengers to hit. Not that I think it will do much good; those Thor movie figures were warming pegs when they were on clearance. I really wish they would have made a comic series for that line.

vampireheart 05-17-2012 09:07 PM

Damn I missed the Invisible Woman feeding frenzy from "our china guy"! Stupid work lol

I wish it did! It was all the same peg-warmers that I already saw everywhere! No secondaries except for one deluxe Hydra. Unless someone already got to 'em all...

I found an odd occurrence that has happened at 2 different Targets. They have changed the Cap movie & Iron Man 2 movie figures to the same DCPI as Avengers. I found another Hydra Trooper tonight at Target. I guess Target & Walmart don't want to lose any money on all those figures they bought.

You think that's bad? the Wal-Mart by me just ran out of Avengers 3.75" figures, so they tossed up all the left over Thor, Cap, and Iron Man 2 stuff in it's place. As opposed to putting out the Hawkeye/Blackwidow wave that I'm starting to think isn't coming out.

This explains why all the Marvel movie figs hang on the same pegs at all the stores here. I thought is was just lazy customers/sloppy zoning.

This DPCI change is potentially a good thing.

Ya I like that version of DP, I hope he's not the one they kill off in the up coming X-Force series...

Marvel Kid 05-17-2012 10:46 PM

Clear Invisible Woman = a maybe get for me..

Red Hulk = Rather stay with the old Red Hulk with 100 X better head sculpt

I am not too digging with the new Green Hulk so far, maybe until I get to play around with it..... as this new body is smaller than the old body. I think Hulk should be even bigger than the old Green Hulk.

I am not too worry about not being able to get the invisible woman from the China Seller. I don't want to gamble my money on these China seller, their figures often come in poor quality. The Fantastic Four Pack probably will shelf warm the retailers, and we will probably pick them up cheaper than 15 dollars seriously. So don't worry guys.

shortysben 05-17-2012 11:13 PM

The few items I've bought in the past from china sellers have all turned out real good quality

yup same here :)

I've had mixed experiences as far as quality, but when something showed up damaged or overtly flawed I was sent a replacement.

Dang missed out on that clear Sue Storm (can wait for Rulk since he comes with other repaints). I've dealt with the seller a few times before and everything went well. He does like to increase the price if it sells well so i'm guessing more of these will be up at an even higher price.

New Hulk is smaller than old Hulk?!?!

That suuuucks.

Finally found what is my grail for MU. Only thing that could make this better is the whole Alpha Flight team.
