Both of those CP's are great Doomtron, it just comes down to which one you want more if you have to choose!

The WArlock is real nice, and so is the Sinister...comes down to which char you want more...because the Thanos, and Gambit are re-makes for the most part...

the bonus with thanos is the new better looking headsculpt and colors,so I guess its a win win with the thanos/warlock pack.

My BST was bumped yesterday so it should be near the top. Like most peoples BSTs, my really good stuff is not listed. I only collect Marvel 3.75 w a few giants for good measure. :)

I don't have any MOTUC, Joes, TF, DCUC, MLP, etc. ;)

I am in need of a Mr Sinister ;)

shortysben 05-19-2012 09:06 PM

Dammit, I need some background items to start a new display...my house is in order, just need some DIO ideas...

Just opened my Sinister/Gambit 2 pack (thanks LM). I was always curious why they chose 90's X-Men #1, open the comic, and it's 'X-Men Origins Gambit'.

This seems to be a trend. I wonder if Hulk/Wolverine will have the old school cover with 'Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine'?

They did the same with the Patch/Silver Samurai comic. It had an old-school cover but it was an issue of X-Men Origins: Wolverine inside. Weird shiz, right there.

Hey guys, I only have one Showdown figure - Torch. He's not exactly bueno in comparison to the MU versions, but I've seen (with Thing above, for example), that some of the figs are actually better than their MU counterparts. Which ones would you recommend over their Universe versions?

I recommend, and consider "must haves":

Thor
Dr. Octopus
Mole Man
Beast (blue)
Thing
Magneto

There's also a Logan on bike that's really cool too.

shortysben 05-19-2012 09:57 PM

I actually just got a SHS Juggernaut, he is okay...but I still prefer the MU version.

Also have a SHS THOR MOC I have never had the steel to open...so I still dont know about that one...everyone says that the SHS Thing is Tops, and better than any of the MU versions...other than that, I think that the MU verisons kill the SHS versions...with the exception of the original char's that have yet to be released in the MU...Beast, Doc Ock, and Mole Man...

Ninjinister 05-19-2012 10:00 PM

Ooh, I'd really like a McCoy.

(looks up prices)

Showdown Thing is awesome. So posable! I can handle him in his undies and not shorts, he's that good.

This.

I'd also include Colossus... and some collectors like Venom, and Spidey for articulation custom Spidey.

Colossus is great too, forgot about him. He is I believe just a tad shorter than MU, but a great figure. If I recall he was available with Magneto in a battle pack. Might be able to kill two birds with one stone there.

Ninjinister 05-19-2012 10:11 PM

I'll definitely check out any of those that won't wreck my wallet. I've already spent way too much on MU this month and I also just moved, heh. Thanks for the advice!

You should be able to snag Doc Ock and MoleMan very cheaply off ebay. Just double check Mole Man has his staff and cape. I got my Mole Man for like $1.99 but didn't realize he had no staff or cape. I need to fashion them for him. I also grabbed a "Covers come to life" Masterworks Fantastic Four issue 1 so my Mole Man can have a nicely scaled MoleMonster to wreak havok on my (eventual) FF shelf. It was cheap too, like $15. I just cut off the "heroclix" scaled FF from him and I am good to go.

It bugs me slightly that Sinister is mostly just a repainted Colossus. Even though Hasbro "makes the most of their parts", I would've liked a more original sculpt. But I never got a Gambit the first time around and what the hell, I bought the pack. For me, the Thanos/Warlock pack is the one to get. I like the head sculpt on Thanos better this go round and I like the look of the old Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet on new Thanos' hand. Looks pretty dope.

Made myself an articulated Blade without damaging the original figure. I like it.
