Unfortunately we have no information currently on file with regards to release of this line in the UK, leaving me unable to satisfy your request.

May we apologise for not being able to help you on this occasion. May we thank you for contacting Hasbro and if we can be of any further assistance, either now or in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Hasbro UK response when I asked several days ago about that 3.75" movie line figures.

"Lisa" head of consumer affairs was happy to "help" and sorry she didn't know anything.

At least MileyB came through. I fully trust him and his source as they have always been right before.

Ah. So do you know that they're gonna be out in the UK too? I mean, the Hulkbuster is on the back of the boxes for the other Titan Hero Tech figures so I have no doubt that'll be out here soon but haven't heard anything about the 5 POA figures aside from what you've said there. They're pretty much the only AOU figures I've not seen yet in retail aside from the ML Thanos wave but that's on Amazon UK now.

Can't say with 100% certainty but Hasbro UK have posted a demo video on their YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LNvARFD450
I'd take that as a good sign.

Yep, that's a good sign! I won't be getting that Hulkbuster but I'm sure it'll be flying off the shelves at the speed of Quicksilver once it hits. Got this from my local Smyths today for £9.99. The Hulk figure is enormous. Dwarfs all the other 2.5 inch figures including the other Hulk and the Hulkbuster! Also saw the Ultron and Iron Leader pack in there for £12.99.

Happy Bank Holiday guys....enjoy your day!!! It looks to ACTUALLY be sunny on a Bank Holiday Monday.....there is evil afoot! ;)

A Friend 05-04-2015 01:34 AM

There are no holidays with Hydra! As Rumlow might say (Captain America 2 reference) ;)

ukmu 05-04-2015 07:28 AM

Well played!

A Friend 05-04-2015 12:16 PM

A little bit of frustration with my G.I Joe figures earlier today. Snake Eyes fell and caused a domino effect, most of the others over! The Fall of Cobra as opposed to the Rise of Cobra! My Dark Elf and Kurse figures also fell victim. They will be avenged! By that I mean... I'll stand them up again.

"What a bunch of A-holes.". Oh wait, wrong movie!

Forgot to say I also got the Marvel Universe Doctor Strange and Silver Surfer pack from The Entertainer recently for £12. I knew someone said they were in there back in February I think but I thought they might have gone by the time I got to one so that was a nice surprise. Felt great to see some MU again! Nostalgia intensifies.

Think that was me, that was my first foray into this mad (and expensive) world of MU collecting, that's was then and I'm up to 28 figures and counting so far :)

ukmu 05-05-2015 05:56 AM

Ah well if it was you, thanks for the heads up! :) I don't have all that many. I only started collecting MU back in 2013 just as it was fading away. Well, just getting the ones I was interested in. I do remember the days when it was just about everywhere though! Loads of shelves full of the single figures. I don't recall seeing the comic packs anywhere though. Probably because I was only interested in movie figures for quite a while but since the first Avengers movie I've gotten more into the comics and the other things Marvel does like the games, the cartoons etc.

the Avengers film launched a whole new life into Marvel. Went from struggling comic company (they came REALLY close to going under a few times in the 90's) to a global powerhouse like non other. The Disney machine did that, and wait until a few years into the new Star Wars!

With all the weird and wonderful characters as well as great stories, I find it hard to believe that that did almost happen! I know you're not making that up though. That's why they sold the movie rights to other companies I think. I remember a lot of people thinking Disney buying Marvel would result in things being a lot more family-friendly and no darkness or grittiness. If only we could go back in time and show them the Netflix Daredevil series. That's technically a Disney product, right? It is part of the MCU after all.

Sir I think you'll find they were doing quite well before Disney, not the powerhouse they are today but still ok, it's Kevin Fiege we have to thank for what we see on the big screen today, he was the main guy behind the inception of Phase 1 beginning with Iron Man, that was a big gamble at the time as Iron Man wasn't a popular character and look how that paid off. He's been board since the first x-men and who knows where these movies would have been without him.
Being bought by Disney was a great thing though and allowed them to get away from having to rely on distributors like Universal and Paramount to forming what we know today as Marvel Studios. Don't get me wrong Avengers was massive for Marvel as a company and has probably brought a lot of new fans who wasn't into the superhero genre before.
Me personally I started on the comics in the early 80's as a kid and the only bit of live action I had was Lou ferrigno and Nicolas Hammond on a Friday and Saturday teatime, and as you know things have come in a long way since then. The kids of today are so lucky with how much Marvel stuff is accessable for them with what's on TV, internet, movies and Toys.
My only gripe is I think some people forget, (mainly the general public) where these movies come from and we have the comics to thank as without them there would be nothing, that is where my heart is, although anything Marvel is good with me.
Not meaning this to come off as a rant and apologise if that's how it comes across.

In December of 1996 Marvel filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection.... Kind of long and boring, but they were days away from closing the doors forever. It happened more than once in the 90's but they only filed for protection the one time.

In late 1994, Marvel acquired the comic book distributor Heroes World Distribution to use as its own exclusive distributor.[54] As the industry's other major publishers made exclusive distribution deals with other companies, the ripple effect resulted in the survival of only one other major distributor in North America, Diamond Comic Distributors Inc.[55][56] In early 1997, when Marvel's Heroes World endeavor failed, Diamond also forged an exclusive deal with Marvel[57]—giving the company its own section of its comics catalog Previews.[58]

In 1991 Ronald Perelman, whose company, Andrews Group, had purchased Marvel Comic's Parent corporation, Marvel Entertainment Group (MEG) in 1989, took the company public. Following the rapid rise of this stock, Perelman issued a series of junk bonds that he used to acquire other entertainment companies, secured by MEG stock. Then, by the middle of the decade, the industry had slumped, and in December 1996 Marvel filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.[59]

Which is why they started selling the film rights no?
This is how Fox, Sony, & Universal got their dirty mits into the Comic pot.

There's a good article on the BBC site about Marvel's financial problems.

Pilkster is trying to get a MU b/s/t thread going for us here in UK and Ireland....
I would use and enjoy it.

Any thoughts from the rest?
