If you don't get that companies tell you what they want you to hear, and push shit down your throats weather you like it or not I can't help you. Have you seen this sales data? Or is it just something you heard from the people that are trying to push a product? I'm just saying from my personal observations, and personal experience and interaction, I don't see people, other than you, flocking to her in droves as you are reporting. I don't care one way or the other man she seems cool and all, just not my bag, but I don't think I'm really the group ( younger girls) she's targeted at.

Where did you see the abomination wave at retail? A few people had pics of the strange wave clearance at target a few pages back, but in my area, and on line they won't budge, hell Walmart.com, who has space venom, and abomination waves for 10 or less, are sitting on movie strange for like 30 to 40$.

That explains it, I don't get Disney XD. I have no idea why, but Comcast does not carry it in my area or something. That's why I'm behind on Rebels as I have to rely on getting it by other means.

BTW, I go into the camp not giving a shit about this new Ms Marvel. I couldn't care less if she's a popular character or not, she's not interesting to me. Plus, I don't really want anything to do with the current Marvel comics. I don't need a collection of characters beyond the early 90s outside of maybe an exception here or there (like Coulson and the Spider Army).

Hemanguy 01-01-2017 10:36 PM

Same here, huge fan. Always get Avengers, but became a fan during the ANAD Avengers run! was excited to get her figure. I Have not read her solo title, but as a team character she works for me.

Targets seem to be clearancing both the Strange wave and the remaining Avengers, but the other major stores are not.

And I would love to see the Astral Strange suit of armor.

You're saying you aren't interested in her, I'm saying that's perfectly normal and fine, everyone has different tastes. We're not really on opposite sides of anything. You don't like a character I love, cool! That means we have different tastes, as people do. Nothing wrong with that.

"You know for a fact" she isn't as popular as Deadpool, but you aren't aware that her solo title is still ongoing? Right.

As far as Marvels site. Her title ended prior to secret wars.. i think that should tell you something. Anddd im done with this thisconvo before it goes off again....

Not trying to continue the argument, just correcting: Yeah, her solo title ended prior to Secret Wars. Then it started again after, starting at #1 again, like pretty much every other title from Marvel after Secret Wars. The most recent issue is #13, which came out November 30, and #14 comes out January 11.

i dig Ms.Marvel in the Miles SpiderMan book as part of his "extended family". Have never read her solo book but other than Miles, (and the two Captain America books) most Marvel Now stuff just doesn't click for me, so i never really gave her book a try... But her figure was great and unique looking- out of that wave she was the one i was most looking forward to getting (And that was my first non-case buy of ML figures since way back when people still called it 'Return' of Marvel Legends) She looks great on the shelf with Miles and Gwen, and Silk!

As far as target toes the irony of the strange wave clearance is everything that was hard to find ( nico and enchantress ) are easy to find and everything else, clear strange being the exception, is all been picked clean. Still enough hawkeyes and machine men to build a city outta.

Heh. I came across a store in our neighboring town that still had four Allfather Hawkeyes, and for a sec I thought I'd gone through a time machine.

SymbiSpidey 01-02-2017 07:13 AM

Is ANAD Spidey 2099 supposed to be really popular? He's by far the most expensive member of the wave to get on the aftermarket which is odd, since I would think that'd be Green Goblin or Ms. Marvel

hasbroherofan 01-02-2017 07:30 AM

It may just be that the design is really flippin' cool.

It is, though I still prefer OG 2099

They shoulda made it silver instead of white...then maybe i would be more into the fig cause white plastic discolors before ya even get the damn figs outta the box anymore.

I don't know, the more subdued costumes always made more sence to me, like black costume spidey. You want to blend in, not draw attention to yourself.
By the way shouldn't NYC in the MU look like the crypt keepers house by now with all the spider people swinging around? We're up to what now 742? There are more spider-people than mutants anymore!

Okay maybe gunmetal. Just saying my ire with the fig is the inevitable yellowing of the white plastic. Maybe even pearlesent so it still had that sheen that the og red n blue one did.

And yah time to break out the spider spray. Its like walking through the tunnel in the beginning of raiders of the lost ark haha :)

hasbroherofan 01-02-2017 11:13 AM

My Anti-Venom has held up well but I'm worried any sort of yellowing or paint chip is gonna look insanely obvious.

Not sure if this is news or old news, but I got bored.. and looked back at the SDCC panel pics. Looks like I found a match for that helmeted head that was teased, presumably for the upcoming Thor wave. The main clue is the cloth that is attached to the back of the helmet in the comic and covers the hair sculpt on the figure.

I'd say the bigger irony with Target is that they have chosen to clearance the most recent of their ML waves. In fairness, they do seem to be clearancing their Thanos & Odin waves too. No such luck with their 'Spider-Man' ML waves though- I came across a movie Electro from the Ultimate Goblin wave; I believe that one is only 3 years old now.

Good find. It is a clasic-ish Thor look too.

Boy Blunder 01-02-2017 01:06 PM

Hasn't he had that cloth for a few costumes now? The one I have (from the Odin wave) has that cloth...

He's had it in his Marvel Now (Odin Wave) look, but that's the only look with it I know aside from the pic I posted above. (Though I admit, I'm not a big Thor fan, so I could be 100% wrong) The headsculpt in the SDCC teaser looks to be new/different (longer cloth/hair down the back) than the Odin Wave Thor.
