I don't know if there's something specific about tomorrow. When they announced the new retro cards they said they would be mainline releases

Livestream today with POs dropping afterwards in the usual fashion. Scarlett and Duke to be among those. Expect new reveals of name only, renders, and full figure photo galleries to accompany the POs

Will we see The Stinger and Ferret revealed?

flansered 12-07-2023 08:52 AM

I think I am all in for those preorders except for Recondo, I have the TF one and I think I am good with that one.

My HISS is set for delivery on Saturday, but I am having it sent to a FedEX pick up location because I am not going to be home Saturday and want to avoid the conversation with my wife about it. So it might be next week before I get mine.

Veronica Mars 12-07-2023 01:48 PM

No renders which is disappointing. Everything else is looking pretty good

I'm especially thrilled with Scarlett. That's the best production Scarlett figure ever created. Duke as well.

deecee4 12-07-2023 03:11 PM

Preordered a bunch of Big Boas. He was a favorite of mine since I was a kid. I love the original figure as intended, Cobra DI, but, my childhood figure was either driving the Thunder machine or one of the guys riding around on the side of the vehicle.

So FedEx botched my HISS delivery today by not knocking yet again, despite someone being at home and waiting to sign. They did the same thing earlier this week with my Mole Rat delivery, which in turn caused them to be picked off by a porch pirate (I actually believe the driver stole my package as the results of Fed Ex's "investigation" doesn't add up.) Thankfully Walmart was able to issue me a refund and resend my order. As for my HISS, I scheduled mine to be picked up directly from the Fed Ex warehouse as they simply cannot be trusted at this point to not screw it up.

Firefly has always been my favorite character on the Cobra side, and I've always wanted a Python Patrol version of him, as it seemed he would fit in naturally with the team. Well, here he is!

Yeah Scarlett and Duke are close to perfect, very impressed.

I keep trying to quit this line because while I love G I Joe it wasn't a huge thing for me as a kid but Classified keeps pulling me back in.

In the words of Shang Tsung, THEY HAVE ARRIVED!!!

https://i.imgur.com/9qUKMWD.jpg

I only had the chance to open one of them and assemble it. Damn the thing is pretty impressive. It's also quite light despite its size. I should probably look up what size battery it requires since I'm gong to be out tonight, in case I need to buy special ones. I put the classic window glass on the front, but I'm going to put the alternate one on the second tank. I think I'm also going to take advantage of the number stickers and number the second one 666. :lol The only thing that looks weird to me are the nerf-looking missiles.

I have not opened any of the characters yet. Really debating if I want to open CC or not. He does look pretty cool, but like the original, he's missing that extra special that makes him look like a terrorist leader. The colors are amazing though.

EDIT:

Opened up my three Hiss goons.

Driver - Pretty cool, but his joints are a bit loose. Also, he can't hold his gun for shit, though I guess it doesn't matter since his job is to drive the tank, not walk around shooting a gun. I have no idea what the punching hands have on them.

Gunner - A female version of the Driver, which is kind of weird, but whatever. I can not get her right leg to move at the hip though as it is stuck. At least her job is to stand instead of the cannon thingy. She also can't hold her guns for shit.

Tactician - The colors aren't as bad in person. I would have still rather had the purple version. The gun sucks again in his hands too. The fisted arms do seem to look good on him. Joints are a bit loose too, sadly.

I am still waiting on my HISS to arrive, but I did receive Ralph "Nunchuk" Badducci yesterday. He's fine. I like the claws better than the weird mantis arm things that came with Helix. One positive of him is that other than his nunchuks, all of this accessories feel like stiffer plastic and I had no issues with them being warped out of the package. I fully expected the claws to be gummy and misshappen. But the only accessories that he had that were soft plastic where his nunchuks, but that works so they can fit in his beltloops. I expect some third party company will eventually make (or already made) 1/12 scale nunchuks with a real chain.

I just have to say seeing the two Flint figures side by side I can appreciate that Hasbro did more for the Tiger Force Flint than just repaint the Flint figure. I appreciated that they added the Machetti Shethe to the figure.

Stuck at home with Covid, perfect day to open the HISS.

https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...8&d=1702852750

And the Fire Team happens to arrive on the same day.

https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...6&d=1702852750

Not that I mind another Range Viper, but he's kind of out of place for a "Fire Team", considering he's supposed to be self-sufficient and don't need a team. But again, not complaining.

https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...7&d=1702852750

I'm one of the ones that voted for this color for the Tactician, and obviously that's the majority of us because we won. I'm so glad he's in black/red, and not some strange color like purple or gray, he looks much more like a part of the HISS Tank crew this way. That's my preference anyway.

Nothing like yours! You actually pose, set up background and even do some post editing. You have fund with your shoots and it shows.

Well, thank you and I do have fun. However, your pics look fun to me and the Hiss is very cool. I purposely stay away from GI Joe despite wanting them ALL. They were an addiction as a kid and I can't do another 12 step to break that particular habit, so I admire from a distance. I'd been waiting for a community member to post photos, so thanks for that!

I did a few paint mods to mine. I realize others are probably fine with the "factory settings". And I get it. But, I really wanted to make this thing "mine". This is just how I think of a HISS tank. Basic black and red with differing black finishes to create texture and depth. In my opinion some of the paint mods they added after campaign close were too busy. Also noticed that if the mini-guns are mounted according to the instructions who ever is in the gunner nest gets sprayed with hot brass. So, in my head canon the mini-guns are operated remotely OR slaved to the main canons. I can't wait for some of these 3D Modelers to start creating custom things to switch the seat and weapons rack. Like a wall computer and joystick so a gunner could use the mini-guns remotely. There isn't much room in that nest for another gunner. Don't get me wrong I like the seat and rack. It would just be fun to switch it up.

1. Painted over the purple on the canons and barrels with matte black
2. Painted over red on wheel cover fins with matter black
3. Masked off the gun metal on wheel covers, painted it matter black to match the pattern on the lower section of the main body
4. Masked off then painted the "metal" frame areas of the canopy matter black
5. Painted the Gunner Shield Cobra Sigil red.

Then hit those areas with a matte black top coat. Very happy with the results. The matte black finish works great with the semi-gloss finish of everything else.

Great work on that Hisstank and cannon shield, I thought the same to myself after I put the shield up: I gotta paint that Cobra logo red.

I came to the U.S. when I was 12, and the first American toyline I fell in love with was GIJoe. I love Transformers, Star Wars and Marvel as well, but as time goes on, I'm losing interest in Transformers FAST (with every iteration of those Bay movies), Star Wars is also starting to lose me especially with Episodes 7-9. Marvel I still enjoy, but again, some of these mediocre D+ shows are starting to kill it. So perhaps GIjoe not having a movie/show in the last 10 years* is a good thing, so it can continue to live in our imagination.

*not counting Spoiler for those that have not seen the end credit to the latest Transformer movie

Just a heads up, Shadow Tracker and Wolf Spider preorders are about to ship. So that's $50 I wasn't expecting to spend right now.

Tarkin 12-18-2023 06:57 PM

why are yall still preordering? just wait till they go on clearance for $9.

i kid, I kid.

flansered 12-19-2023 06:52 AM

Honestly I preorder Joes cause I never see them at retail. My nearest Walmart has only had the retro carded Destro, Baroness, and Lady Jaye, and regular Lady Jaye and Flint for the last year. I think I saw Croc Master once. So I preorder to make sure I get them and to support the line. But I do wish that I would of waited on the movie Snake Eyes figures, even though they are nice figures.

Cyclopswc 12-19-2023 08:12 AM

I don't regret paying full price for any of the Joes, it's my way of supporting the brand and hoping that when they cut jobs at Hasbro, the Joe team would be spared perhaps in small part because I voted with my money.

Some of the Marvel stuff I wished I waited for clearance, especially those that I was forced to buy just because I wanted to finish the BAF.

I've always been selective about Star Wars, but some of these color variants (I'm looking at you, Mandalorian funky color Credit Collection) are just plain old cash grabs. Those I'd wait for a clearance.

But overall, I have no problem paying full price for things that I wanted. It's what's fair according to the manufacturer, and I want to support those manufacturers so they could continue to make more.

That's pretty much what I am doing now for figures that aren't my top priorities anymore. I don't see a point in preordering them when 3 weeks later they're going to be on the clearance shelf for half price, if not more.

I picked up Falcon on clearance and I would gladly take Outback, Torpedo, Bazooka, Low-Light, Snowjob, the Snow Serpents, and the Eels if I found them for 50% off.
