You could always try this Chinabay seller: tunghori. He almost always has at least one Darth Krayt up for auction. He carries a combination of Clone Wars, Vintage Collection, and Comic series figures as well as some of the 5POA stuff. While I'm unsure if the figures are bootlegs...if they are they are very well done bootlegs as I have ordered from him several times before in the past, and have always been happy with the results. Anybody know where I can get a green lightsaber blade for the 6-inch black series Yoda? I seem to have lost mine. I thought about just taking a green blade from a 3.75 scale figure, but I don't know which ones have removable blades.

The new 3.75" FA Akbar looks cool.

I got the Sphero BB-8 droid today. Best Buy was running a sale on them for a little less money than when they were first released.

Hello guys, first time posting, I have a quick question, how well do SH Figuarts stack up against Black Series? Are they about the same height? I have Obi Wan being shipped and I was wondering about it.
Thanks |
Up to 23 Force Awakens 3.75" figures in my son's set up! Picked up another Stormtrooper, Flametrooper and the Sainsbury s (Kohls in the U.S.) exclusive five figure Forest Mission box set. Finally have a BB-8..... we are well happy.
For a film that's been out for a month (we didn't get any before, but fell in love once we've seen it) to have 23 figs and 4 vehicles on our tiny toy budget is pretty good. That is almost a toy a day since Christmas! |
Most of those were Crimbo presents to be fair (and his birthday is New Year's Eve) and some RIDICULOUS January sales going on. Tie Fighters vehicles the same cost as regular figures type things. Figs marked down 20%. It isn't like I've gotten him something each day. Will try to post update pics this weekend.

I have a Tie Fighter and the Millennium Falcon from this line. Enjoy them quite a bit (wish the Tie Fighter had sounds, but oh well). I've been eyeing Poe's X-Wing, but $50 is too much. That and I haven't seen one at retail since the film was released.

Are the 5 POA Force Awakens figures worth collecting? I can't imagine them making a cool display and just see them standing in all the same positions.

Anyone happen to have a NECA Frank the Bunny from Donnie Darko and able to do a comparison between his alternate unmasked head and the Black Series Kylo Ren head? I've got a custom idea for an unmasked Ren though I'm worried the NECA head will be too big... :P

That seller is legit. A lot of toys from Hasbro POOR through the Philippines. They always get figures way before region 1 or region 2 as well. Just look at his feedback, a lot of sales and positives. I would 100% stake my reputation to his validity. If he was in America or Europe would you question it? East Asia doesn't mean bootlegs when it comes to sales.
Also, I think the 5 POA stuff is great. I am in a small small small boat on that statement. Here's why... They stand easily, they won't break, great sculpts, nice paint applications (better than Black Series often times)easy to find, restocked very often, huge variety (it has just begun just wait and see as it gets going) you can easily once again hunt for them, and the same articulation I had when I played with Star Wars. That never bothered me when I was young. Simply put- they are FUN. There, I said it. We collect highly articulated Marvel Universe figures. I love articulation as much as anyone else. Buying online only or trolling ebay sucks if we are honest. Going to a shop and discovering your figure that you want is a GREAT feeling. This line has brought that back. The Black Series is going to get a few here and there but will never have everyone. Plus they will be expensive and frustrating to hunt. You will most likely end up feeding scalpers for 30% of your collection in the end. I say support them. They aren't going anywhere. We will be seeing them for the next eight years or so. I am getting in at the beginning and am having fun collecting again. For too long I have enjoyed toys but hated the hunt. Now the hunt is the best part. Besides, they do look great once you have a lot of them! Anyway, Stormtroopers just stand in rows anyway. If you absolutely hate the idea of 5 POA then dont get them. Keep complaining like everyone else on the internet. Hasbro isn't changing the design. Accept it. The Black Series 3.75" could fizzle out as it already hard to find and now is exclusive to only one store. Plus Hasbro wants to push these Force Awakens figures and the six inch line. We could see very very few new releases over the coming years in Black Series 3.75". Sad but perhaps true. I'm in and am LOVING it. Give it a go before you deny them without at least trying them. |

Figuarts have some nice articulation but on some it looks unnatural to me. Sculpting has been incredible on both in my opinion but Hasbro has had some paint application problems. For example, with Obi Wan I have seen a Black Series stripped and re-painted and it looks absolutely awesome. So the sculpts are there like with the recent running change to Rey, the paint made a huge difference. With price considered though, I think Black Series wins out for the majority. I just haven't seen that many Figuarts figure that I believed enough was gained for the price but some here on these forums are firm believers they are superior. As far as height, The ones I have collected so far scale a little smaller and shorter than the Black Series. |

Eagerly awaiting the upcoming unmasked 3.75" Kylo. Plan on getting two. One head for a changeable swap for hooded and unbounded versions. Use the extra two bodies for Knights of Ren stand ins. But most importantly that second head.... making a Matt the radar technician figure. I think.it would be GREAT slipped in the collection once it is a bigger a few years down the road with say, thirty Stormtroopers and loads of other First Order figures strewn about to have him tucked away somewhere almost hidden.
I can't even look at a muffin with out saying in my head, " I ain't had my muffin yet, Matt!" Hashtag smiling-all-day! |

Forty years of toy advancement aside, putting away all negativity- did you have fun looking through the stacked pegs of them and getting the one wanted or a random one only to find later just how cool he was when you were home. That is what this has brought back for me. At first they were just for my son's Christmas and his tenth birthday. I was a hater. I wasn't going to support this 5 POA garbage. I was standing firm against Hasbro with everyone else. Then I got them for him and I am hooked!!! Let the haters hate, I am for the first time ever in love with Hasbro!!! |
