Well, equally so, any normal person could've been born with the X-gene in their systems, and mutant powers emerge during puberty, so the "could've been me" thing doesn't seem like a proper counter argument to me.

You're talking about bigotry though in their reasons why. So logic doesn't really factor into the mentalities.

That being said, it is a constant question that comes up. The fantastic 4 are loved, even celebrated but the X-Men are hated. This theme has come up in the old cartoons before too. The 70s ones I mean. Not sure if they've covered it in recent ones. They also did a version of this argument with JJJ on Spider-man in the toons on why he hates Spider-man but other masked heroes like Captain America are okay.

Even stripping away the fake reasonings, it always boils down to bigotry of some kind that has no logical underlying aspect.

Mutants are hated because they are different. Other superheroes are loved because of whatever reason of "normalcy."

The reasons vary per hero. Ironman built his suit. Captain America is a war hero. The fantastic 4 were because they are scientists that got their powers from cosmic radiation so it's not their fault. Etc. etc. etc.

The arguments are all flawed and always are sourced to some form of rationalization to treat mutants as different. Most of the internal baseline arguments stem from the "evolutionary step" that'd make humans extinct someday, so they fear and hate mutants by nature. Even though mutants aren't actively out to wipe them out knowingly and any mutant could have two human parents. Any child of "humans" could be a mutant. This is the reason why the metaphor worked so well to cover minorities and other oppressed people. It's based around the fear of the unknown and ignorance. Which is why most other heroes don't have to deal with it unless it comes out that they are a mutant. Avengers loosely covered this back with Firestar and Justice too. A little bit with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, but the bigger argument there was that they were former terrorists. It was also briefly touched on in Ultimates because Wasp was a mutant but she kept it secret by saying it was because of Pym's experiments.

I do see the point there, but honestly, X-men feels like a concept that would work best outside of a universe full of super powered beings. Not saying that I don't like them existing out there, but even with this explanation, the logic hole is still present(just not as noticeable).

What you need is some nail varnish remover. Doesn't affect the paint job, but a smidge of nail varnish remover on a cotton bud then rub it in the claws till the marker comes off. Works a treat.

found the new wave in walmart this morning, only hand enough for two picked up vision and iron spidy. was gonna get gamora but didnt like the paint apps.

It plays directly into that notion and question of "Why is one accepted, and the other not?"

We still see it today itself. White celebrities praised even with such horrific deeds in their past they've never atoned for or in some cases still do, while PoC celebrities are reminded of their misdeeds forever, even if they have genuinely grown from their mistakes and literally served their time for them.

I remember when the xmen were just watching seige (I think) on TV and when Normans face started turning green wolverine was like "that was gonna happen eventually, told ya so he's a villain" lol. Sometimes the xmen sit out a battle here and there.

Well I got that Cap set from China, received it on Monday. Problem is that set came out in February so it means it took almost 3 months to be available in China sellers. If the same timeframe is applicable only in September or later we will see those 2 sets. Now the problem is that these were not even seen in "normal" stores unline the Cap set.

Anyone else think that the articulated 3.75" line might become entirely MCU focused? Keeping 6" legends as the only comic based line.

I would hope not but i wouldnt rule that out. I do think they are trying to downplay the 4 inch stuff by price gouging and reducing articulation. I know i havent bought any since the insane price hike above ten bucks.

I've always looked at it through the Martin Luther King vs. Malcom X analogy, prof.x being the peaceful coexistence advocate, where as magneto was on the militant ( raceist in his own way) camp. And the actions of a few bad mutants made the majority of society nervous and demand they (mutants) be segregated or eliminated. As far as other super powered beings in the MU, inhumans long ago withdrew from society, so at least early on, the public wasn't aware of them, the FF were already famous, ( it would be like Steven hawking and his family getting powers). Iron man is just Steve jobs on a mission, and cap was a well known good guy and war hero whose integrity is beyond reproach, therefore he has built in credibility and I feel like othe super powered people that he vouched for would be automatically accepted by the public at large as good guys. But there are a lot of non mutant "heroes" in the MU that are feared or hunted. Hulk, punisher, DD, spider man. I think it boils down to the fact that vigilantism is technically illegal, but if you lived in a world where some bad people had the power to destroy and kill on scales we seldom see in the real world, and we ( non powered people) had no way of stopping them, a lot of people would probably be willing to look the other way, and some people would want to kill them all out of fear. It's like if you had an illegal gun in your pocket and you saw a woman being violently abused in an alley by several guys, would you use it, knowing you may get in trouble?

I think it's almost opposite of that. After the first avengers movie we haven't gotten a movie line with more than seven figures. And there hasn't been any single carded movie releases sence winter soldier. And all of the exclusive packs have been reprints of old figures. I wish the legends 3.75 would copy the distribution scale and mixed selection of the regular legends line... But I'm starting to think with all the packed shelves, price cuts, and the recent missing wave 6" is about to get a rude awakening. It may be time to " end" ML for a few years again and let the 3.75 flag fly proud again!

I know there are some hard to find 6 inch figures, but for the most part even the cool ones just peg warm.
