That is easily my favorite/tied for favorite Joker toy with the NECA Ledger Joker.

TheMattMan095 12-03-2015 03:53 PM

It saddens me that they made the Joker a cross between the BTAS look and the TNBA look, rather than just staying true to the BTAS design. Same goes for the Riddler. Those splindly, sharp legs are pure TNBA.

???
This is strictly TAS Joker, the legs are about as thick as they should be factoring it's a toy. Besides, all things considered TNBA Joker actually had thicker legs for a TNBA design. When you compare TNBA Joker to Two-Face, Two-Face actually has those thin, sharp legs (which I think work well for him).

Yeah, there's definitely no cross over. They've even said that they plan on doing both iterations of each character. This is one of my favorite running lines. I can't wait for the phantasm two pack.

I don't recall them saying "each" character will get two just those with enough demand, it would be pointless for a couple of them anyway. Two-Face and Harley Quinn look virtually the same between TAS and TNBA, just more streamlined in the latter. If they ever get to Clayface he was also almost the exact same thing in both. Doing alternates for these kinds of characters would waste effort that could go to different characters. Personally I'd be happier if they never did TAS Bane, TNBA Mad Hatter, TNBA Joker, or TNBA Riddler as I really didn't like any of those versions, the alternatives were much better.

That Phantasm pack haunts me at night I want it so bad!

You an me both Sabah. I am also waiting on that mini bust they showed. And to this day, I still think Phantasm was the inspiration for HUSH. If I ever meet Lee and Loeb I am going to ask them.

^^^ I freaking L O V E that film! Better than most live action feature films in terms writing and dialog. How phantasm didnt jump from just the film to comics and other media like Quinn did I'll never know. Then again that might be for the best.

I think it's for the best, the character is better preserved this way.

I love that Batman Beyond figure. I was going to order a couple more during that sale, but I restrained myself.

It's the second one I order bro, I want to keep this one MOC because I opened the first one, plus you can't beat 50% off and free shipping! Matty never offers free shipping so you have to take advantage of that...lol!

Damn that's an awesome poster. The Mask of the Phantasm is still the best Batman movie to be made live action or animated. That said the Killing Joke animated movie is shaping up to be a great contender to take the title.

Well Raph beat me to it today but my Matty collector sale items came as well !!! One batman beyond i'll probably keep sealed.

Aw man, what perfect timing ! With all of this talk of Batman: TAS and Mask of the Phantasm, I have another DCAU-related post :
This Diamond Select Femme Fatales Supergirl statue was one of the few Black Friday / Cyber Monday purchases I made this year, but she's been on my must-buy list ever since she was released.
I absolutely love the Timm-verse iteration of Supergirl, and oddly enough, I actually prefer the animated version (Kara In-Ze) over the both of the most recent comic versions (pre-New 52 Kara Zor-El version and the New52 version ) of Supergirl.
Being a huge fan of the animated Supergirl, from Superman: TAS, and especially JLU, I was excited when Jeph Loeb reintroduced Kara Zor-El to the DC Universe back in '04, but I never found her comics, with the exception of maybe a few of the arcs that tied into the New Krypton story, very interesting.

http://i825.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps8ec8qvhx.jpg

Sorry, I got a little verbose there, but, lol, I'm not done yet :)
With Fantastic Four being cancelled, I've been searching for another Marvel title to fill that void, and although it features The Thing, Bendis' Guardians of the Galaxy just hasn't impressed me.
Oddly enough, that sci-fi superhero void is possibly going to be filled by the new Ultimates series.
So, I picked up Captain Marvel (who is one of the primary members of the new 616 group of Ultimates) to celebrate !
Even after only one issue, I'm impressed, and so far, I really think I'd like to see Hasbro release a figure of the Blue Marvel, to add to my new Ultimates line-up!

http://i825.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps4lunjhwc.jpg

And, finally...
Wave 2 of the 3 3/4" Black Series has been slowly showing up in my area, so I picked up Kylo Ren.
Also, I finally decided to pick up Phasma, after repeatedly passing on her. I haven't seen her on any lists of upcoming 3 3/4" Black Series figures, so I decided to pick up the 5 PoA version, even though it's FAR too short, just in case we don't get a Black Series figure of her in the near future.

Trivial Psychic 12-03-2015 11:36 PM

Today's pick ups...

TRU had all WWE figures at 30% off, so I grabbed the Outsiders and after digging through an open case, I finally picked up AJ Lee's final WWE figure. (By the way, if you think casepacks of Marvel Legends or Black Series is bad...you should look through a WWE case sometime. It's something like this, 4x The Rock, 4x Triple H, 1x everyone else...)

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...203_131757.jpg

Not really a toy, but I took advantage of Cyber Monday to order a new overhood mask from Trick or Treat Studios for a custom Jason Voorhees project that I'm working on. Can't wait to finally start touching it up and putting it all together!

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...3_231717-1.jpg

And no...I won't be using the video game mask for the project, just using it for a reference shot...

I have to agree. I am stopping collecting comics but I have a couple pre-orders from Midtown still rolling in and the last shipment came with Ultimates #1. It looks to be a promising series. Guess I will be waiting for it to show up on Marvel Unlimited in 6 months to find out.

Aside from my childhood love of the X-Men, and my adult-era fanatical love of the Fantastic Four, I've never been much of a Marvel fan. However, I really really enjoyed Ultimates #1. I've talked to a few buddies who are big Avengers fans, and they mostly have positive opinions about Al Ewings' writing, so I'm optimistic that the book will continue to impress me.

I actually liked issue #1 so much, that I decided to track down some back issues of Adam: Legend of the Blue Marvel, and I've really enjoyed what I've read so far. Also, eventually, I think I may pick up some issues of Ewing's Mighty Avengers arcs as well.
I honestly can't remember the last time I was so eager to delve into the Marvel Universe, and after you mentioned it, I began to consider signing up for Marvel Unlimited too.

I'm excited for the Killing Joke movie too! I think Phantasm will remain my top animated Batman movie forever because it's an original story (mostly), Under the Red Hood and the complete TDKR were great but as literal adaptations of comics they don't beat Phantasm in my eyes.
