I've also seen episodes where he either flat-out lied or made huge errors about the history/rarity/value of certain items. I swear it was done just for the sake of the show to build drama. Quote:
Toy Hunter : TV Shows : Travel Channel |
In case most of you missed it most of the Toys R Us here had then removed and now have re-added shelf space for the Captain America infinites. I have literally ran across 4-5 Spidergirls Toxins and Boomerangs but only found WS once. Black Widow eludes me still.. so the news of the June repacks is good. Too bad they waiting 2 months after the movie to put them out.. tons of lost sales at the moment. I hope the GOTG wont be this hard to get
|
My local Walmart doesn't even have empty pegs of Infinite anything but they do sell the smaller and larger Spider-Man and Cap lines. I drive down south to another Walmart and they have peg spots and have a few ML here and there. I just worry that because the individual store employees at this Walmart didn't put pegs for the ML, they won't get reordered.

Rocket Racoon and Hit Monkey series were so damn scarce, I barely saw those waves at retail. I was forced to buy both online while the first 2 waves of the "new" ML were so easy to find and still today you can find peg warmers of only the 1st waves.
Wolverine Legends only hit local comic show but NEVER retail in my areas. I don't understand why it has no support and to me it looks like there's a market for this. I'm not hopeful for the GOTG wave at retail because it's obscure compared to Spider-Man. Stores will carry anything with the Spider-Man name. ML sells too, look at eBay prices, they are going up like crazy. |

I got lucky on the wolverine online retailers only set...found everyone cept Efrost for around 60..then found and Efrost for 25 so overall 85-90 bucks total for the set. may have to do the same for GOTG since you are probably correct that the big boxes will ignore them |

And there is no excuse for getting facts wrong most of the time as ghost shows are usually pretty staged. They typically have time to research, especially when he "drops by" someplace that is several states away. People would tell the show they have toys that are worth tons of money and they would do their research to make sure it's worth the trip. Then they pretend to be surprised when they come across a complete set of original Star Wars figures. I wouldn't mind him passing on easy money toys if he exclusively bought high-dollar items. Problem is you clearly see him buy toys for under $30 to flip for $50+, especially lots of figures like the TMNT stuff. I didn't mind that show "Hollywood Treasure" because they passed on replicas for actual movie production stuff, which is worth way more and what their business is all about. |

I just hope they go with the fishnet jumpsuit or the new space armour instead of that thing she was rocking a few years back with the hood and the boobs all out. |

Still no refresher cases or any sign of black widow here. Can't wait for the movie the first 10 minutes looked great. |
I'm hoping like all get out that the GotG line is a single case that I can get in one shot, unless there's a second wave of comic versions (I'd take any comic version of Gamora), and the Starlord previewed at SDCC is what I want far more than the movie version (not hating on it, just a preference)

When he went to Wonkos in Austin and found Kiss toys in the back room like that is really a thing there. Wonkos USED to be cool but the guy sold it to someone else and they moved the location. Now they just have leftover stock from the last store sitting in windows being sun bleached! They are more into RPG games, I go there every once and a while and regret it every time. The stink of B.O. and desperation hang heavy in the air. Too bad. But yeah, that place does not have anything worth while, just somewhere for the Toy hunter to find something Gene Simmons already had. I still watch the show though, just to see some of the toys he finds and wonder where all of these flea markets and weekend sales are. |
I forgot we had this, but if anyone wants to keep talking about (read: complain about) Toy Hunter, here's the place to do it:
http://www.toyark.com/toy-hunters-tv-show-82598/ Good stuff in that thread and better than me repeating my opinions here. |

Scored another Spider-Girl for retail today, bringing the total number of purchases of that figure for retail to 6. Not sure why I can't ever find any other difficult releases like I am this particular figure, but it's nice to have a few of her on hand for both a stock display figure and as custom fodder. =)

LOL, sorry about that. :)

I'm tempted to get one of these bootleg Deadpools ebay linked on the right side here.
Even the bootleg red ones go for $39.99 shipped but I've seen some auctions end at $25-32 bucks. Haven't had much luck with bootleg figs, though. The DC Universe ones I got last year either had sticky paint and/or loose limbs. |
Are Toys R Us online prices and in store prices the same?
