I am kinda surprised Todd hasn't tried to make another Martian Manhunter figure. It would be cool to have a better Jonn with a wired cape and what not. so far he is the only DC character not to have a multitude of figures like everyone else.

Big Monk and "The Dash"...
Nice ;^) |
mattel getting dc comics rights back in 2026
https://toynewsi.com/241-56780 happy for those who didn't like mcfarlane |

Credit where credit is due: Thanks for all the vehicles, Todd. You know Mattel wouldn't have made all those Batmobiles so well for that price.
|
Has Todd actually lost the 7” scale though?

But that was a decade ago. Hopefully all that shit's resolved and they can put together a comparable rival to Marvel Legends. Hasbro's got problems right now, this is your opportunity. |

The way this was worded seemed like a Mattel "welcome back" type thing. Full press release: https://www.toyark.com/2025/02/27/ma...in-2026-555688 |
So we can actually get more than 2 female characters a year again?
|
Time to offload that mcfarlane shit

I only picked a few of the McFarlane DC figures up, but the wired cape on the Adam West Batman is great, and if he could do quality wired capes on that size figures at that price point, there is no reason why the other companies can't.
|
Yuck! Mattel had better not give us plastic capes

The modern MOTU 7 inch scale is fantastic for engineering, articulation etc. Paint and sculpt now on point in latest rounds. If they apply that DNA to DC, it could be fantastic. Please, just please, start with semi-modern versions of core JL and their villains. I just want the core goodies and baddies from modern times in non specific looks. Give me that, then I'm all in for the long haul. |

I doubt the figure selection will be handled the way you suggested. |
I have every mattel DCUC figure except for the wonder twins. The movie Shazam figure was one of the best figures they ever did…I hoped movie figures would come fast and furious after that. Mcfarlane has given us so much, but still no Batman returns nor 1989 joker….even a figure with no Jack likeness would have worked for me. So close…we were so close.

Wow. That was a surprising bit of news to see on ToyArk.
And nobody may ever get the actual reason why...maybe it was just a simple money thing, and Mattel wanted it more. Who knows. McToys had a way of polarizing the DC fanbase. HUGE thank you to McToys for making some of the best action figures out there in the DC Multiverse line. I'm still not a fan of the chase that McToys seemed to enjoy. I still don't understand the predominance of making so many Bat, Supes, Aquas and so on, but some of the product has been stellar. Sadly I have no interest in starting over with a new license. Yet more variations of the same Batmans, and so forth that I already have. So I may be done with DC action figure collecting. Wonder if I ever get Black Canary now...LOL. Thank you McToys for the good memories, and I won't thank you for all the head scratchers. Not really sure where to go from here... |

Question.
Didn't McFarlane buy DC Direct? So, could he still make his 7 inch scale under that while Mattel makes 6 inch and otherwise? Either way, I'm fine with it. I only got McFarlanes vehicles and some mega figs. I'm primarily a 6 inch scale collector so this makes me happy. |
Well lets see who makes Zatanna and Black Canary first Todd in 2025 or Mattel in 2026

Funny you bring up chase figures. I don't know why it wasn't explained to Todd that it's not 1995 and sticking an unmasked head on the body of a figure you just bought tohunt down again is not the way tomake sales but I guess he just didn't care. And thank you for telling people that you're not starting over. Once this news hits losers like Uncle Tim and his followers will be crying about being "forced" to start over. You don't know where to go from here? Finish what parts of the line you don't have, call it quits and enjoy what you have. Nothing wrong with that. |
Mattel got the license back?!
Hallelujah!! They should relaunch DC Universe Classics with 4H sculpts 2.0 |
On one hand, this is amazing news and Todd can go eat a dick. On the other, I just don't care much about DC anymore.
If they do a Silver Age Flash line I will probably bite, but at this point the only DC figures I'm collecting are Mafexes (and right now that is just Neal Adams Batman). |
