Hasbro should label SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED on their figures these days!

The head looks great painted, but I can't paint for ****, so it would be worthless of me to bother getting this Vader.

6" Ahsoka is perfection in figure form. Sabine isn't far off. |
I am looking forward to grabbing Maz in that set!! I was hoping for some new vehicles. Kylo command shuttle and First Order Stormtrooper dropship mostly. And like everyone eles, still awaiting Master Luke and General Leia. In time I guess....
|
Thrilled to have this creep back in my collection.
|
God even Star Wars is getting the 3.75" shaft... glad we're getting Sabine's new Costume, though. I lost one of the guns on the old figure and it kinda ruined it for me. I've warmed up to her new design too.

Yep, they are pushing 6" really hard Madame Warlock. The only articulated game in 3.75" town has gone exclusive to a single store. Hasbro has done that before and it spelled doom for those lines. The Black Series 3.75" may soon go the way of the dodo. Time will tell....
I feel bad for collectors who have invested heavily in the line over the years and told to get 5 POA figures for the new film or get less than 10 articulated figures a year from a single chain store. Or switch scales entirely..... Sad days for 3.75" That said, we are brand new to Star Wars so we are ok with the 5 POA line. As Marvel 3.75" collectors ( my son and I) we would be mad if put in the same boat as Star Wars 3.75" collectors. Or worse.... GI JOE collectors have been just completely shafted. Way of the world these days. |

At first I decided to get nothing. Then I read about the smaller black line, which I was down for and have all the ones from TFA. I wasn't going to by any 5POA but I did cave and got a Phasma and a Guarvian...however you spell their name, the red suited space pirate. Phasma I will store away once/if they release the small black series figure on her (I can't see them doing that line for the other) but that's pretty much it. Kind of sad, but I don't want to get into the 6 inch line, that is reserved only for Marvel Legends, and trying to take on another scale for another brand at this point. It's just too much time/effort/space/money. |
Hey could someone please give me some insight on 3.75 vs. 6 inch? I really like figures from both sizes but I want to be smarter with my money now a days and stick to one line. Yes, 3.75 are cheaper but Black Series has fewer figures to collect so I figure the price difference would be almost the same. Which do you prefer and why?

At first I was not interested since 3.75" was my main SW area but I knew that I would still get a few of those "must have" characters for a small display. Basically Boba Fett, a Stormtrooper, and Darth Vader were my only real wants when the line was introduced (Vader hadn't even been announced at the time but we all knew they'd get to him). I hunted for so long to no avail trying to get Fett in wave 2 and had passed on every figure in wave 1. I never found Boba Fett in stores, just a sea of Leia, Greedo, and some Han too. I did then find the Stormtrooper when he was released and got one. It is just such a damn well done toy that I immediately expanded my want-list. I eventually got Boba Fett online for retail price and my collection has now grown a decent amount. As much as the 3.75" toys are awesome and great to play with there is a notable amount of higher display value with the 6" toys. The fact that Hasbro cut back articulation to '77 levels on their 3.75" toys in general and now reserves articulation in that scale for exclusives put in some extra push towards the 6" line as well. Basically for me it comes down to the 6" figures looking better, being bigger, and then not wanting every character in the line to begin with making them my preferred line now. However if I wanted every character available and then to actually play with them then the 3.75" line has a lot going for it still. |
