Plus, I fall more in love with the 3.75 figures the more I get them. Their main problems are just being a slight detail off from perfection(that's usually easily remedied, though), poor character selection, and the face sculpts not being consistently good(though with the shared sculpts now, that shouldn't really be an issue for too much longer). They're already focusing a bit more of the Collector series too, judging by those upcoming 3 packs and the packaging for the latest sonic screwdriver. But let's not get into this discussion on a Marvel forum, shall we? |

Hey guys,
I thought I'd throw in my two cents about the state of the line. Many of you probably don't remember me, but check out my collection thread. I have been in this game since the first figure of the first wave of MU hit the shelves. I've seen it all. So on to Infinite and then Legends. The big negative is of course the steps back in articulation which does of course suck. Less accessories is also not awesome. There are however four things that make me very happy about the current state of things: 1. Character Selection - We are getting an amazing number of new characters in figure form. And even when we get another Spider-Man Captain America, or Ironman it is usually a different outfit or take on the character than we have had before. 2. Paint Aps - Is it just me or has the quality of the painting on these figs gone way up? I am kind of a stickler on finding figures where the paint isn't wonky. It's been a long time since I've had to settle on this front. 3. Distribution - From the 2nd to last wave of Infinite to now I have seen every single figure at retail. There used to be entire waves that would simply never even show up in stores. It used to be that if you didn't order online you were rolling the dice. 4. Comic Packs are back! So just my opinion, but I am very happy with where the line is and where it seems to be headed. |

My Wal-Mart went the opposite route of removing space for the figures and way overstocked the first wave so now they have a bunch of Ulik and Triton plus a single Captain Marvel pegwarming. They also got the first wave of comic packs in bulk but none of those are selling, I'm hoping they go on discount because otherwise my Wal-Mart's probably feeling set until the holiday season.

The last comic pack I remember was Power Man/Iron Fist and it had to be clearance out at one of my Targets. This would make me wonder why they would accept more of them. As to the backlog of Triton figures, this was the base for my Super Sabre figure. The boots and gloves are the same and the 2 pack Falcon head just needs the hair sanded down.

Now, I totally agree with you. I was actually kind of surprised about the negative talk we were getting about the the line in its current state. I mean, we're certainly not back to the glory days of the MU line but you can't deny that there's been serious improvement on the line. Your post covers it all. |
Marvel Legends 3.75" Comic Two Pack Wave 03 - Set of 2 - Marvel Figures (Hasbro) Marvel Legends 3.75" Comic Two Pack
Looks like the wave 3 2 packs are going to be rocket raccoon/groot and Gamora/starlord. |

and if it's a repacked Gamora from the single pack that will be meh but not as bad since she's not been released but once. Hopefully though it will be all new stuff - articulated Rocket, different style Gamora, different style Starlord and a real Groot figure. That would be awesome and insta-buys for me. |

Definite pass on the other then. Unless of course I still haven't found Gamora by then single carded in which case it may be worth it anyways. |
K- Dub for the win!
I love you to death Smow, you even offered your solid Vision for free to my son. That means a lot and I don't forget. That said, you always stay positive and keep a good vibe with the hope that Hasbro may read this and be turned off over negative talk. Fair enough... But reveloutions are not started with smiles. They have dicked us. End of. 13 a figure with halved articulation and zero accessories. Come on. I do like the paint and distribution and character selection. But the negative outweighs the positive for even the most hardcore amongst us. Pretty much no one orders cases here anymore. Just cherry pick. I wouldn't drop the collection because current releases but I'm not as excited as I used to be. Pretty sure there will not be a massive (or any) 3.75" diorama again this year. That makes me sad. Sorry to hear about Ursa too. I really liked his setup. Also if ANYONE has any HYDRA figures please holla at your boy if your gonna sell. ( Mr. Rautha) I always enjoy Snows loooong posts and I'm happy that he is always a star of hope for Hasbro. ( I even secretly suspect he IS Dwight in disguise) ;) Also when Kerns jumps in to bash that shit. ToyArk...... Love it. |
