That legit puts my customs to shame by looking like an OFFICIAL MU. Well done.

As for all of this talk about Infinity War raising interest in this scale and stuff, I don't really see that happening. I see where you might get that assumption, giving the way the articulation went after 2011(slowly), but I don't see them doing too much more than maybe a few 2 packs or something, if they're even still doing 3 3/4 inch figures by then, but a massive line of them? I appreciate your optimism, and wish I could have it, but no.

Also, how is Wal-mart against 3 3/4 inch figures if they have the exclusive 3 3/4 inch Black Series figures?

Very nice Pilkster, great use of Death's Head! (Oops, Mr. Sinister)

This is definitely one of your best customs, Pilk!

It would be really cool if we could get Stryfe on the Herc buck retooled to look like it has armor. He's one of the obscure characters that I think would sell really well.

jedirulz123 07-06-2016 01:14 PM

I have to say, all the "Infinity War will lead to every MCU character & villain who's never had a figure to suddenly be made" is bollocks. We said the same about Age of Ultron, some of us said the same about Civil War. It didn't happen. Infinity War will come, we'll get 3 2-packs like for AoU of repackaged or repainted figures, then most likely an SDCC set with a Thanos.

Hunt for the Decepticons was amazing. Terradive was one of the best deluxe transformers for years. It's off topic but I wanted to chime in.

Jackieboy 07-06-2016 01:54 PM

so do you think chinabay and people like vortious who cast their own stuff are doing hasbro any favors???is it any wonder the 4 inch line has been on a slow decline in recent years?when it was readily available nobody wanted to pay the increased price and some were grabbing price dropped figures in bulk and selling on ebay and groups like this for 3 times the amount>>>shocker anyone???hell i even managed to pick up the entire im2 line in tesco for as little as 50p a figure.i see that as a heavy loss for hasbro and the retailer.it reflected in future lines like wolverine,im3 AOU with drop in articulation, eventually it could lead to hasbro just dropping the 4 inch altogether and focusing on 6 inch, and that line is picking up momentum again.

I bought 3 and made them into Unicron minions!

I could easily see it coming back to more of a 3.75" focus. I look at the 6" figures absolutely rotting at retail and are easily found (in my area) at discount stores such as Ross... I've even seen agent venom and several other 6" figures like black cat, electro, and superior spidey selling for less than half the MSRP. If there is any accountability at hasbro they will start catering more to the 3.75" market. I wish I had access to the sales data... I remember listening to David vonner saying how the toy companies do what they want based on self fulfilling prophecies... If they dont cater to us more, they will not make as much money. Boils down to Supply and demand. Do the retailers REALLY demand more peg warmers? Am I supposed to believe that TRU, Walmart, and target asked for a Hyperion 2 pack with the amount of them peg warming as they do? Sorry, I just don't buy it.
I do fully believe that the supply for us will pick back up based on how many people buy 3.75" scale, I'm stoked at those possible predators coming out, and boss fight has figured this out and are capitalizing with some amazing stuff right now.

Well said JB^^^^

The Chinabay game has HAD to have contributed to the lines decline. Might not be the searchable, but it is a nail in the coffin.

There isn't too many, if any honestly, that are SUPER excited about the reveals at the Con. I will definitely be tuned in, but I'm not spending my Saturday with multiple Windows open F-5ing them to be "in the know" right away. To be honest... I can hardly be bothered. Sure I will see all the news, but I can't get into with the soured taste in my mouth.

Hasbro, Wal-Mart, us, little green men... whoever did it, the boat is sinking. We have taken on more water than we can sustain. All the rats have jumped ship (no offense to anyone who has sold up, just a saying) and only we few remain. Ship of fools really. I always HOPE for better, but I truly there at two hopes for the continuation of the line up to 2020... those two hopes are No Hope and Bob Hope.

I do apologize for coming off so negative today. Maybe I'm just in a mood. But shit has just gotten to me and thought I'd voice it. Poor Snow had to take it... just a payback for the novels you call replies that you write! ;) Sorry for jumping on you dude!!

I don't know what can be said that hasn't been said.... maybe it's time for Raf to post Vision solid moc pics! ;) I love these toys, I love this place and I love you guys. I will try to be more upbeat.

I may even get around to taking some pics this summer. That is always a fun thing to share.

a toy sales graph was posted on a facebook group for 2015 a while back hasbro had a steady year but profit made came from the star wars line NOT from the 3:75 marvel line, mattel made the most sales overall through barbie, lol.lego came in second.

Well said to you too... you snuck n there while I was typing a long winded story about nothing! ;)

Maybe toys and figures in general aren't selling as well as they did a few years ago. Most 7 year olds have a tablet or a phone now. Perhaps casual gaming, MineCraft and YouTube have killed the youths desire to play as much. There are a LOAD more items tugging at mum and dads purse strings these days than action figures.

The world has changed since 2008 when MU were fresh. I was still using MySpace and rocking a Nokia phone then. It is COMPLETELY different these days.....

Anyway, I am curious as to what revealed will get!!! I am wishing for more villains, cosmic stuff, c list Avengers- both heroes and villains, some more female characters and the return of the cartoon line. The one with Leader... I liked that line even if it was a "filler" line during a transition. I know it won't come back, but I liked it.

Hoping that maybe we will finally get a Madame Hydra/Viper with the SDCC reveals. They have the parts, this should be easy enough for them. I also want a Kingpin and Lady Deathstrike of course but I know there would be new sculpts with those. Viper at least should be able to be made with minimal effort. Just do it Hasbro! LOL.

LordMudd 07-06-2016 03:17 PM

I have been making my own figures for over 20 years. If I can't find what I want, I make it. If Hasbro would learn from this and make what we want, we wouldn't be eroding away at their profit margin because there would be no reason to. At the same time, until recently most customs were made from existing figures, which meant they still sold out. Now we have customizers moving into the retail market with generic customizable product. NOW it becomes a problem for them.

lol,she is loving it really :) that wave never showed up in my area, came across it somewhere on holidays, only figure i did not find was deadpool.

getting back to the discussion about hasbro,i feel that they do listen to the fans, they could have completely buttf@cked us with 5pa figures on the legends rebrand but they did not,im sure some of their employees come here and enjoy our collections and try keep the flame going, but again its down to sales.ive been through the price increase,i still buy at retail so long as they keep making them, hasbro are being diverse with characters like hydroman, morbius, living laser, bishop, characters that should have perhaps been released instead of the multiple spideys and wolverines we got from previous years.we now a get a mix of old and new, better than nothing i suppose.but its nice to finally start finishing off teams i started years ago,and im sure many of you guys and gals feel the same.we still need a kingpin and sasquatch though!

Kamatayan 07-06-2016 05:57 PM

What Punisher figure is that on the left? I know he's not a custom because I've seen multiple pictures of him around here but whenever I look up "Marvel Universe Punisher Figure" on Google I never find pictures of him. He's not the Showdown one either.

That's the first MU Punisher from when the line first started.

Ha ha... I can see Colossus saying "I know you and cyclops are together but you want see my one eyed monster? skin is made of steel.... I'm always hard da?"

Also got Gamora in the mail for free with some Amazon gift cards... Good figure I like it.... I wish she had some torso articulation tho. A diaphragm swivel would go a long ways in terms of posing the new bucks.
Great week so far, started with a great 4th of July, I was elated to hear durant was leaving the "thunder"... Been waiting 8 years for that and finally got my Gamora after a few years.... Still waiting on that mother sucker skurge!

Look up big head punisher there were 2 or 3 Punishers in the early waves One had Black gloves and Boots, one had White Gloves and Boots, and there were 2 different head molds one was larger and one was more in scale.

Kinda like the X-Suit Wolverine, he had a big head variant as well. I don't think these were actually variants more so production changes.

Also Snow you da man, that post of yours was like a 30 min read at work so I appreciate you helping my day go by faster. You make some great points and I hear your side completely, I think you might be a bit too optimistic and are giving Hasbro way too much credit, but hey if you have done the research and fully believe what you have said good for you. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope in a couple years you can say "I told you so!"

Agreed. I would also like the hinge on the neck so that flying characters could look up... Still would like that for archangel. But if I could only have them add one more it would be that upper torso cut like on the punisher pic above... Makes for way more dynamic poses IMO
