for me im stuck between MCU characters and comic versions .... -.- , this black panther looks good , but i got more for my money , i feel with movie version with extra sculpted detail. If they gave him one of the new sculpts i would be more intrested.

kylactus 02-11-2017 06:53 AM

I think the MCU black panther is just a well executed figure, if I knew nothing about marvel I'd still love that figure, even as a comic purest I think he's got a cool look, plus he is nearly perfectly articulated.

Let's not even start talking about the Abomination wave.

ANd I really think it mostly comes down to those freaking codes being the same. The retailers or Hasbro or whoever sets those codes need to devise a new code for each wave. Otherwise there are going to be figured produced that never sell, and I can't imagine that is good for Hasbro, to be sitting on stock in the warehouse.

I used to be of the mindset that if we waited long enough, we would see almost all Legends in abundance for their allotted time (say 4-8 months would be a standard retail life of most waves I'd think.) But it has been 7 months since Space Venom and 6 since Abomination...and barely anything. I cannot feel with any real certainty we will ever see those stocked as regular stock.

I myself kind of gotten to the point to just check Wal-mart when i do my usual once to twice weekly runs. Other then that, i don't get my hopes up around my way. There is still plenty of red onslaught wave, absorbing man, a few left overs of the strange wave and some of the X wave... the waste of gas and time is a downer...

Better off preordering them some where.

hasbroherofan 02-11-2017 08:32 AM

I love the sculpted details on the suit itself. It keeps it from feeling like he's wearing footie pajamas.

Preorder or just wait for them to go down in price online. One or the other, I'm more content soon to just wait as long as I'm not wanting the entire case. Retail is pretty much going to depend on if it's the first wave with that identifying code, I firmly believe. The first GOTG2 wave, The Thor wave, and if it's got a different code than other SPider-Man waves, the Homecoming wave will all be easy to find. Oh also Defenders wave.

GOTG wave 2, the X-Men wave, and if there's more Thor or GOTG waves, not so much.

Because at the time there was no comic version currently available. If this had come out before I got the CW one I would have gone for that one instead. Now, I just don't have a reason to own it.

Whoooooot! Just got a confirmation from Dorkside my GOTG wave shipped. That is REALLY early, no complaints though! I guess Hasbro just got these out to distributors way ahead of schedule.

I am hoping that they do the same for the X-wave, I'd love to have that sooner than late April.

Got mine as well. Can't wait should have them by mid week.

Movie Black Panther is now my Fav. so I sold off my Toy Biz Panther. I Love the Detail on the Movie Panther, He really stands out. This Newer one with the cape is not as Detailed as the First Movie Fig. anyways the first one is my Fav.

So, with the crap distribution that is my local TRU, I decide to brave the waters on eBay for the new Groot. I find one at 40 dollars buy it now, or best offer with free shipping. I say why not, let's try an offer for 35, which is reasonable...he still makes a profit and i save the time, frustration and gas money. I get back this...

Declined...

Scalpers really piss me off. Don't ask for a best offer if you're not interested in anything less than your buy it now price. Learn to eBay...

No reason to have or best offer if you can't drop it a decent amount off the original asking price.

It's ridiculous when they come back even in your case with a dollar less on the orginal price.... WTF is that? i see people with selling graded comics do the same. it's just asinine.

It's his figure and he can sell it how he feels, but asking for a best offer, only to counter with an offer that's pennies less than his original one is really shrewd. Yeah...it's a better price, but seriously...does he think that he's a Walmart? That's practically a rollback...

Just thought you guys would enjoy this...someone already has their hands on the X-WAVE and their first review is Cyclops. Since I know he is at the top of the food chain for everyone, I thought I would share. Enjoy!

Come, See Toys: Marvel Legends Series Cyclops (Warlock BAF)

EDIT: He now has reviews and photos up on Dazzler and Colossus as well. Color me impressed with the both of them, though I'm disappointed that the skates on Dazzler weren't removable. Thank goodness I still have some fodder high heels from Black Cat I can use, while it might make it impossible for her to stand, I think they'll go great with the look...

MeLikeJinx 02-11-2017 03:21 PM

^ Cyclops with the Walgreens Daredevil head looked pretty neat. But not having that ML Jean Grey makes me want to pass on the ML Cyclops.

Jesus. That's a pretty generous offer too, considering that figure isn't too difficult to find. No way is that figure reasonable at $40, you'd be doing him a favor. Sentimentality is expensive, it seems. I've paid extra to avoid the inevitable pain in the ass as well, but god damn.

Bo Ttef 02-11-2017 03:40 PM

Making space for Warlock and Shatterstar- Cable needs some kids to go to war with him but not everyone will make the cut.

Thanks, Ser- Domino is just a mostly easy Mockingbird repaint for this one and a head swap. Need someone to keep Cable from going too nuclear on the kiddies! :)

I look at it this way, while I know there are several people here and in general out there who won't pay a dime over retail, if I have the extra scratch, and it's reasonable, I don't mind, especially when I take into consideration my own local options. Tucson is a large town, but it doesn't have many LCS that deal in toys (most of them deal exclusively in books, card decks and tabletop games,) and the two TRUs we have are seperated by nearly 12 city miles, (which doesn't sound like a lot) but considering that there's no freeway options to get from one to the other...it's easily an hour drive across town just so one can find pegs still loaded with Constable Zuvios, White Tigers and Misty Knights.

In addition, my TRU's have missed exclusives entirely (such as the Jubilee X-Wave, several of NECAs, and the recent Black Series Hovertank pilot) so I don't mind paying the extra money to get rid of the headache of coming up empty time after time again. As a working father with a 2 year old, I just don't have the time to be bouncing around town nor the extra money to be sinking into gas for a less than worthwhile search.

When someone on eBay sends back a counter offer similar to what he did to a best offer that's more than generous, I'll seriously send them back a middle finger as a reply, because it tells me that he believes I'm being dishonest with him and am trying to lowball him. It would be one thing if I was trying to buy an SDCC Luke Cage off of him. This however is a fairly recent release that has been done a couple of times and has bootlegs of it running around. What he fails to realize is that it is a figure that I already own two "evolutions" of (having both the EE and the previous BAF versions) so I was essentially willing to pay him 35 bucks for two, tiny, non-articulated versions of Groot, along with a new headsculpt, which makes the offer even more than generous.

Anyways...no case of sour grapes here. I'll get my hands on it eventually. Not my fault he doesn't like money (or likes it too much.) I might end up waiting for the eventual casts of the potted and baby Groots, as well as the smiling head, sure to come. And if anyone else here gets their hands on it, lemme know. I'd be interested.

there is no point in even having that on your listing, especially if your only going to budge a dollar off your asking price.... that's a good way to turn off a potential buyer.

Here's Star Lord chilling on Knowhere the heart of the Guardians's base waiting for the rest of the team to arrive! :D I also wanted it to channel the teaser poster! :D

I kinda wish starlords jacket was blue to match drax and rocket and possibly gamora. Plus his lack of baf part kinda makes him uneeded.

Im fairly certain of it. Shoulda either omitted sam and put him in wave two and given peter his baf part or stuffed peter in wave 2 and given him a baf. Hes not like deadpool who could stand in the wave with no baf so yah hes likely to be the new odin wave hawkeye.

Emikd 02-12-2017 03:50 PM

Congrats on your figure Marvelfangirl! It's always great to finally get one of the figures you've been wanting forever!
