Gosh, I know everyone gets older, but it's just so weird seeing actors of movies I watched in the 80s looking age wise like the actors from the 60's I watched in movies at that time. (I hope that makes sense.)

I see what you're saying lol. And yes we'll probably see it at the Toyfair :D Either in a rumored two pack..or HE COULD BE IN WAVE TWO. I'm so glad Legends wasn't afraid to give him gray hair (unlike Star Wars for Han Solo XD) Dang Ego looks great!

But very unplanet like. I wonder what the story is going to be for that. Is he a representation the planet made, a visually mind created construct (ie, this is what we perceive him to look like as our minds cannot fathom his actual form) or will they just be changing that story completely?

I'm fine either way just a weird choice for the role considering the entity's role in comics.

Byrnes 02-17-2017 02:01 PM

No lie, that is Kurt Russell? Weird.

I remember James Gunn saying that Ego is a living planet and dang it I'll try to bring it back up if I can find. Um..in terms of a construct I believe this is just his human form how he appeared to Meredith Quill, and how he'll show himself to Peter Quill/Star Lord. I believe we'll get to see him as a planet. Why I say that James Gunn's overall story has to deal with an emotional construct of Ego he had said one time (probably going to have to bring that up again too but) Basically in a sense (don't quote me on this but from what I read I got the feel that) it's going to be like what it would be like to be a living planet! I have my own predictions as to what that could entail. Like maybe feeling all the life and worlds around you and how they're connected. And also maybe how lonely it would be to be a planet in the Galaxy! Maybe he could feel Peter's mom dying. Anyway that's speculation but that makes me really excited. And hey after all. GOTG 2 scored a 100 IN EARLY TEST SCREENINGS. That's never happened for a marvel movie before! All of them so far have scored in the 90's. SO YES.

Dr Kain 02-17-2017 02:20 PM

That doesn't look like a giant planet...

Captain Nash 02-17-2017 02:31 PM

I'd like to think that maybe the human form is just a spore from the planet.

Marvelfangirl 02-17-2017 02:46 PM

That's a good point! I could definitely see that too!

He looks like he just changed his coat from the hateful 8.

I guess people are finding new Xmen at Target. I think the DPCI is the same as the last wave. Im tapped on figure funds until next week, but only want Cyclops.

Brownfinger 02-17-2017 03:05 PM

So a talking planet ya'll are fine with, but his ability to express himself also as a tiny bipedal person strains belief? :p

It's not really news that he has an avatar of some sort, an extension of his will. He's a gigantic and powerful cosmic entity in a fantasy movie, it'll probably make perfect sense within the framework of a fantasy romp in space. Gunn is the sort that locks down those little details because he's a fan as well. Which is why he feels the need to explain things like why everyone sounds as if they're speaking english, even though they're not.

That's going to be a problem in restocking, in that case.

Also looking over to the right I see these are on ebay now. Polaris is going for $53 At the moment. I don't use ebay but it's really hard not to bite down and get in on this. I do see it's shipping from Riverside, CA.

I have a feeling these may show up to online distributors sooner than mid April.

Yeah it is. I checked brickseek and it showed X-men at target near me. Went it and it was all Juggernaut wave.

That's gonna be a real PITA. I know I'm planning on ordering online but still. how can retail/hasbro not see this a problem and at least assign different DCPI numbers? Bad enough the brand abbreviations are the same now the numbers are the same as well??

Tomorrow at 12PM EST on the Marvel Facebook page, they will go over Hasbro Toy Fair reveals. They posted a picture of Ex Nihilo.

Oh thanks for the share especially the time! I can already tell that body and those hands are going to end up being a Sabretooth at some point....

If that's the Hyperion body (looks like it, but not entirely sure), then it already was a Sabretooth.

Or that! LOL. Yes, I think it is, so you're probably right, not that they couldn't do it again.

Boy Blunder 02-17-2017 04:31 PM

Welp, at least one figure from that wave I'll be skipping.

Dr Kain 02-17-2017 05:17 PM

It's quite easy for me. My closest Target has 3 Cables, 2 Havoks, and a Phoenix on their pets. Brickseek says the only have 6 on hand. Well that makes that easy.

The use of "duo" in EE's tagline leads me to believe that this is the rumored two pack.

I have no interest in Ex Nihilo, but I'm glad for those who do want him. Also, I don't believe he's the BAF, just another figure in the wave.

ariellagunas 02-17-2017 06:37 PM

I mainly like comic book figures, so I have little interest in Ego, or Star-Lord for the matter. I always like the original Star Lord from Bizarre Adventures, etc.

I cannot understand Mantis as a BA F, but whatever. I like Mantis, so I will have her any way. I get Ex Nihilo is not an a-lister, but I like the design and I will get him, kind of the same of Titus. No idea bout him but he has a cat head, so that's a win for me. Thou I resent having to get another movie Drax.
The main wave I will be getting full will be of course the X-Men. Sunfire, Dazzler and Polaris are a long time coming, and I've been collecting since the very beginning. That Warlock looks awesome. I love The New Mutants, as they came out when I was a teen, and it was very exciting time. Same for Apha Flight really.
Finally, the X-men wave with Juggy BAF came out in London, thou way too late, as I have them all, except Cable, which I may get.
Very excited to see further reveals.
Peace.

Looks like Pyron from Darkstalkers. I thought it was at first...lol...

Captain Nash 02-17-2017 06:42 PM

We totally need some New Mutants and Alpha Flight love.

At very least a redo of Cannonball, and then Moonstar, Magik (non exclusive) and Sunspot. Ya'll know how I feel about Wolfsbane but I'll include her anyways.

At very least for Alpha Flight we need Northstar. But having Aurora, Snowbird and Shaman would also be really nice. I'm so tired of having half of the original Alpha Flight in either scale, and Hasbro not going the whole way with it on either.
