What movie are you watching?

Hello fellow fig collectors

I decided to make this thread cuz im a member at another forum and they have this thread and its pretty active. plus im a big movie fanatic. I'll start;

Pixels was great, alot of action and comedy in the movie, ive always liked movies from sandler as well for some reason. there are even some great cameos from other 80's stuff.

just saw a movie called Kill Command. it was quite good but it could have been better. it has alot of potential and the main killer robot has a good design. it was like a terminator meets predator

This movie was excellent. this is the Looney tunes "the movie" i didnt even know this existed. cant believe i found it till now. im a big looney tune fan. im even gonna go out on a limb and say this is even better than Roger rabbit, it has the same vibe where human and cartoons interact. gonna buy it in the future. FYI: there is alot of cameo's as well, like: wwe goldberg, Metaluna Mutant, dr who, the twilight zone guy with the white hair etc...

Moved to the correct forum.

Just saw Conjuring 2 and Kong Skull Island

Conjuring 2 was really good, a great horror film, even if not historically accurate. It chilled me to the bone, and I had trouble sleeping. I hope there's a third one and Wan does it, he is a master of his craft.

Kong Skull Island was good. Not great, but good and I had a good time with it. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, and I think it's a much better movie than Godzilla. I'm excited to see more.

Tomax 04-03-2017 06:00 PM

whats conjuring 2 about logan?

Tomax 05-06-2017 11:19 AM

Saw the movie last nite, i went with my niece. we went to the 11:30pm showing and it was empty, that was weird. its usually busy at the movies on a fri in miami but i like to see movies when its less people. anyway, the movie was good but not better then the first one. the begining was alittle slow and some jokes fell flat, i noticed people didnt laugh. it picked up from the middle to the end. and they showed too much of baby groot but that was a marketing ploy to sell more merchandise. the soundtrack was garbage, the one in the first movie was better. overall it was good but not like "wow" i like the GOTG movies but i dont collect GOTG figs, well maybe just Rocket Racoon, he's my fav from that team.

What? The one thing I liked about the movie was the soundtrack.

And lol, should I start calling you Uncle Tomax now?

I have some nieces too but they live really far away and are too young for these movies, especially with the amount of penile humor in this one.

Tomax 05-20-2017 01:21 AM

ARRIVAL - horrible movie, wish i can get my money back. the movie dragged almost the whole time then leaves you with a lame ending, didnt even tell you the message from the aliens

Tomax 07-24-2017 10:24 PM

what a great movie, it has everything a thiller should have, well made and good storyline. easily one of my top thillers. it even had those weird 80's backround sounds on some of the scary pop up scenes, just like Halloween had

Watched Predator 2 last night... Classic!

Night before was Predator. Tonight, Predators.

Once they're done, on to the Alien movies, then AVP. Predators and AVP ain't great, but I'm in the mood for them all, it must be done.

Tomax 08-17-2017 11:09 PM

Im a big POTA fan ...it was a good movie but some parts of the film it kinda dragged alittle. the other 2 films were better. the avalanche part was a little cheezy thou.

AVP is superb, especially the part when they show Predator on top of the ancient pyramids of egypt, i believe in that scene.

ALIEN: CONVENANT - rented this movie on VUDU. it had alot of potential but fell flat, Prometheis is still better. there were alot of deatils that made the movie lame. like for example: when they went to that "safehaven" with the other android that didnt have 1 door to protect them, lol. they focused too much on the android guy and how can a robot have feelings and start kissing people. and how did the last Xeno get on the plane? i like the Alien franchise but they keep messing it up.

Yeah I agree with you 100% Prometheus is a way better movie in my opinion. Like the cast better too Shaw is one badass character.

Tomax 08-27-2017 07:35 PM

The cast of Prometheus is record-settingly awful. They're completely incompetent in their jobs and extremely unlikeable.

On top of that the movie did nothing to move the universe forward, and it created far more questions than answers.

Well I disagree lol. But I think that you're in the minority on this one. Prometheus even holds better on Rotten tomatoes by both Critics and Audiences then Alien Covenant A whole 10% more by audiences. I just Hated the cast on Alien Covenant that was my biggest Gripe they all were so confused and Not only that they were just terrible actors outside of Michael Fassbender and Billy Crudup. I don't know what they were thinking casting Danny McBride. Also didn't like how The main Heroine Idk her name but she seemed like a Copy of Ripley.

Right, because percentages are always accurate and capture a movie's quality. 🙄

The cast was ten times better in Covenant than in Prometheus. In addition to better performances, they behaved like human beings and were competent at their jobs. I'm sorry, but if you think the characters and acting were better in Prometheus, maybe you should take an acting course yourself.

If you watch actual reviews where you can hear people's thoughts, you'll find that both movies got negative reception but Covenant is seen as an improvement to Prometheus for having better atmosphere, characters, and a more coherent story.

Also, Tomax, did YOU understand the movie? I doubt you of all people did sir.

Fine that's your opinion. Doesn't mean you're right or wrong. Same for me. Why would I need to take "acting courses"? That would be like you sick you have to go to the hospital then become a doctor. And yes Rotten tomatoes is a Viable source why do you think if something is certified fresh on there they slap a sticker on the DVD

Tomax 09-02-2017 11:45 PM

went to my nieces house and saw this movie with her. i enjoyed this movie except for the ending (which fell flat) and i didnt like what they did with the dr jekyll and hyde character(russel crowe)they did a half ass job on him when he "supposedly" transformed to the hyde monster, other than that it was good. the mummy was quite sexy, its a female
