Ultimate 2009 Jason, looks great.

Well that's a big jump. Shouldn't they be doing 7 and 8 first?

The tooling was already available for this and the 10th anniversary is coming up. They never claimed to be going in order. I wouldn't be surprised to see Freddy vs Jason versions to follow some time next year.

That's very cool...I already have NECA's original release, but I'll totally trade up for this bad boy.

However, NECA has to be fucking with the fans at this point. There have been more requests for an Ultimate Part 7 Jason than modern human technology can count, and still, nothing. I understand that it would probably require a completely new sculpt and they want to save a few bucks by re-using what they can first, but still.

Also- they teased an Ultimate Roy figure a while back, but they never did a full reveal. Anyone know what's going on with that? And does anyone want to bet that they'll re-use their Ultimate Michael Meyers body for Roy?

Part 7 and 8 Jason figures will need to be new sculpts from the ground up. Their old Part 7 Jason is very outdated and doesn't hold up well enough to their current sculpting standards. And reusing parts for those two is a bit trickier. So if they can justify production costs of those by offering retools and re-releases, they will.

As for Roy, who knows at this time. I suspect at lease some of the 2018 Michael Myers tooling will be re-used there.

So my guess right now would be the 2009 Jason, followed by Freddy vs Jason revisit (should have been this year), then Roy. After that, they're into all-new sculpt territory with New Blood, Jason Takes Manhattan, and the two from Jason X. Somewhere in there, I suspect we'll get some type of Jason with reused parts as well.

Any guesses on the accessories that will come with him? We should find out tomorrow.

My guesses would be:

- Hockey mask head (or removable mask)
- Sack head
- Unmasked head
- Axe
- Machete
- Bear Trap
- Screwdriver
- Fireplace poker

I assume an unmasked head, sack head, machete and a few other weapons. Oh! And one alternate hand that doesn't really work with any of the accessories but they included for some reason.

I’m glad this figure is getting updated. I used to own the original along with both versions of the remake Freddy, but sold them off due to their lack of articulation and to make room for newer better figures. Plus for years I always had a feeling they might go back redue this figure, so I don’t regret selling it off.

While it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if NECA teased/ announced an updated Ultimate Freddy Vs Jason 2-pack around midnight tonight, I just don’t think that version of Jason will be the next one tackled. Nothing but the head and possibly the feet and hands could be reused. They would essentially have to resculpt an entirely new Jason to make it work for the modern era. A FvJ Freddy would be easy enough to make though since Freddy looks the same in all his movies minus his makeup, hands and shoes.

This does beg the question though, what other reveals will we get for today or tomorrow? NECA announced their would be about 4 new figure reveals by Halloween after they revealed the latest Pennywise. So far we have the Nun and the 2009 Jason. By my count that still leaves two more. Maybe blue-eyed Pennywise and something Evil Dead/ Army of Darkness related?

Don’t forget a crossbow or bow and arrow. I don’t recall seeing exactly what Jason used in the film, but I know he didn’t throw the arrow through that one victim’s head. And maybe a new version of Pamela Vorhees’s rotting severed head.

Ah, yes. Forgot about the arrow.

Hey, if it's all part of a careful, calculated plan to eventually bring us all the Jasons while avoiding going out of business, I'm cool with it. :)

He's been saying on Twitter he hopes to get to every appearance, which is a change from his "we released that one already" or "No Plans" responses.

So cool! I have the original version as well, very cool figure! I can already see some improvements from the original, such as the hair and articulation.
I do wonder about the head/mask. The original actually has a removable mask, but the bottom portion of the hair is sculpted to the straps of the mask (see attached pic) It was a really odd design choice, and it was always a HUGE downfall for the figure IMO. I hope they fixed this with the Ultimate. I just hope they don’t scrap the idea of a removable mask, or unmasked head sculpt. Otherwise it’s not gonna be as Ultimate as I hoped. Needless to say, I’m really excited to hear more about this figure! In terms of interchangeable parts and accessories,

I would love if they revealed an ultimate Ash and an Evil Ash from AoD.

This is great news. The strap on my original release's mask broke about a week ago. Time to upgrade.

It looks good, but I have no love for the remake and can’t see myself ever buying it. Saw someone on Bloody Disgusting describe it as the ‘Brah, do you even lift?’ Jason, which I thought was amusingly apt.

It’s a strange run of releases from NECA. Parts 2, 5, and the reboot were at the very bottom of my wish list (although the first two come with some great extras and masks, and I’m sure this will too). Actually, the very bottom would be JGtH, so that will probably be the next after this. :(

I’d be all over any of the others. Obviously Parts 7 and 8 are the top of most Jason wish lists, but I’d love to see a Freddy v Jason Jason ultimate (just imagine a flaming Jason!), or either versions from Jason X.

He used a hunting bow. Though I'm sure he could have threw that arrow like a javelin if he wanted to.

Great list of accessories. I'd love to see a sculpted sleeping bag on fire so we could hang it above the campfire that came with our Part 2 Jason.

Love the locket idea, though I would also like to see Jason's teddy bear, which made a cameo in the film, despite being more commonly associated with FvJ. Wouldn't surprise me to see it come with that version though when Neca gets to it.

I have a feeling FvJ would be next. I wouldn't have an issue with that, since that version of Jason has kinda become the template for Jason's look with today's pop culture. Freddy's demon form in that film is also a much needed Freddy look that we still have yet to properly receive.

FvJ got a lot of things right, IMO. The look of both was spot on. I loved the fact that they deliberately based Jason’s look on the Frankenstein monster, with the platform boots and jacket. My 18” NECA statue is still my pride and joy.

I’m struggling to think of what extras an ultimate FvJ Jason would come with. A machete, a teddy bear, and a Freddy head and glove? Maybe a flame effect?

Flaming machete would be nice.

Oxygen tanks are more of a Freddy weapon. It could work in a double pack.

I would love a new release of Sam from Trick R Treat.
