Hot Toys Batman Forever
|
These have been so long in coming. Hot toys showed these off what......5 years ago?
These will be very hard to pass up. I, like many have been priced out of the 12 inch scale but I have the 1989 hot toys figures, I’d feel sad missing these. I can’t do the thunder tank and these, my attachment to Batman is stronger though. Plus where the hell are the returns figures from hot toys??? |

When I said HT should focus more on older properties I didn't mean this trash. On top of that, when there are arguments to be made that the film you're making making merchandise from is worse than Batman & Robin (real arguments, not from diaper stains like Bob Chipman) your priorities should be elsewhere.

I would say to you, don’t be so dramatic. Batman forever and Batman and robin are starting to become a cult classic. The generation in the mid 90s wants some of this stuff. Funko also realized this. GameStop said the mr.freeze pop exclusive was one of their fastest selling pops. A nostalgia is building for the 95 and 97 film. We’ve never had anything from this area other than the Kenner figures. Fun fact....your opinion is that. Your opinion.

Am I the only one a little disturbed over just how um, aggressive, they made Robins junk?

I love this version of Batman. I love most interpretations of Batman so I simply have to get these but goddammit, I was really hoping to have a money-saving month for once!
So Robin doesn’t come with that cool, rocky display base he’s shown on? That sucks. It’s the perfect diorama piece. |
I really hope this means we might get an Alicia Batgirl in the (near) future.

Glad they went up for PO, I almost certainly would've gotten this Batman had they not put up DX19 since I didn't have any 1/6 Batmans yet. But with DX19 coming, this is a pass for me.

I loved the movies as a teen. As a child I religiously watched Superfriends cartoons and the 60’s show. For me, Batman was a campy character like The Tick. I never read the DC comics so I missed the dark, brooding, psychotic Batman until the Tim Burton films. The Schumacher films were a return to familiarity for me.

Loving that Robin.

Maybe McFarlane will make Batman forever figures

I still think that's an awesome Batsuit. Make the belt gold and the bat on his chest black to stand out more and it's damn near perfect imo.

Mattel barely began with its Batman movie figures, giving us only Devito Penguin and Kilmer Batman in a 6" scale. Rumor is they had a Jim Carrey Riddler already sculpted for the next wave before they lost the DC license. With them also doing Carter Wonder Woman and Shipp Flash before the line ended, it kills me that they didn't get at least another couple years to develop that new DC Signature line with the variety of movie/TV characters they seemed to be planning. I bet we would have eventually got Robin to go with Kilmer Batman, along with more Burton/Schumacher film figures, and maybe even some from the Reeve Superman films. I really wanted a Helen Slater Supergirl, Gene Hackman Lex Luthor, and Terence Stamp Zod in a 6" scale to go with my NECA Reeve Superman. |
"Dick" Grayson indeed

Still trying to figure out how those costumes work. I mean, are the figures wearing costumes, or are those Phicen-style rubber bodies?

Looks like Batman may be a conventional figure in a rubber suit. There's some wonky puckering going on at the hips and shoulders in some of the posed photos. Robin looks like it may be a rubber figure. I'm not seeing any telltale puckering in the posed photos. Although it doesn't have the obvious hip joints from other rubber figures like the Arkham Batgirl. |

Despite the protruding junk and Robin's nipples, I'd rather take these figures over another Batman and Robin viewing. |
I mainly find B&R painful because of Arnie's dialogue. But I loved the designs of his & Ivy's costumes.
In regards to these figures...I don't remember Robin's crotch being soo prominent, but there you go. |
