McFarlane Toys Gets Blizzard Entertainment License – Diablo, WoW & More Incoming

Diablo, World of Warcraft, but no mention of Starcraft. Hoping one day someone will pick up licenses to the Warcraft and Starcraft RTS games.

No specific mention of Overwatch either. The game's hype is long gone but I'm hoping someone picks up the brand to finish the roster after Hasbro and Figma dropped it.. it's still missing several of the core characters.

Yes. It is very sad. If they realize, they
do not make enough Money, they instantly
cancel the Line. Very Shitty tactic
of McFarlane. They just need to
find the best Characters and produce
them, instead of cancelling the entire
Line in the middle.

I'm desperate enough for good WoW and Diablo figures that I'm going to suspend my usual cynicism of McFarlane and just hope this is a good, long lasting line.

Misleading topic name. These are statues, not figures.
Anyway, not bad designs, pity they are from the worst Diablo game so far. Gimme Diablo II Resurrected figures, then we can talk.

I believe that the reasoning behind not going for action figures is the sheer amount of gear they wanted to represent with the ability to eventually mix-and-match something resembling your own loadout; fully-articulated figures would quintuple the parts count and not be financially feasible unless this was one of the biggest toylines of the decade.

I personally don't trust McFarlane to commit to a licensed property to any real degree, DC excepted, and don't think this will pan out. I would like to be wrong, though, Diablo fans need a win!

I thought McFarlane said in an interview that "this was the license we were able to get" implying they couldn't get the action figure license?

The gear reason makes some sense but they could have picked the iconic heritage armours or something. I've just got no interest in statues personally so I won;t be buying any of these. If the first wave had been, say, Thrall with male and female orc and humans in heritage armour I would have army built both

You could be entirely right, I might just be reading too much into an offhand comment McFarlane made

Definitely seems like an instance of statues being all they were able to get for the license. But I dont know what other company has a license for figures.

I have the Big Devil from Hero Toys and it’s pretty amazing.

Neca didn't do a great job with the liscence. They did ok. But it was like they took the characters and made them anime. Hero toys big devil is great..glad I got 2. Pre-ordered Demon Killer..its great looking.
