Marvel Questions Round 1 Hasbro 2009

Marvel Questions Round 1 Hasbro 2009

We have until Monday, March 2nd to submit our questions.

Do It..............

clevelandhags 02-23-2009 11:53 AM

Are their plans to make more villains?

When will the Fan's Choice figures be released?

Are there plans for any vehicles or playsets? A Shield Command Center would be cool. Or Stark Tower.

I asked that at Toy Fair and they said no plans in 09.

I would assume if all goes well in 09 then we will see them shortly after.

artiepants 02-23-2009 12:14 PM

Will we be seeing Team box sets?

Will you be working to make figures release in movie lines (ala Wolverine Origins and Iron Man 2) complimentary to the "main" line and do the movies affect what you have planned for the main MU line?

Can i have Dark Hawk please?

Have you considered working with Diamond and Marvel to offer figures exclusively with Graphic novels? for example, a limited edition of the Secret Invasion graphic novel that came with a skrulled-out Spider-Woman (nice since it's just a head remold). Seems like it would help promote both the MU line and the comics themselves (sort of an "inversion" of the comic pack concept.)

thanks, Destro! (and can ya'll flip the layout???)

Nemesis*Prime 02-23-2009 12:16 PM

1. Will there be more female heroes/villains released?
2. Are other comic pack series besides Secret Wars planned (House of M, Age of Apocalypse, Secret Invasion, World War Hulk, etc.)?
3. Is Hasbro planning on doing more variants of current figures (Example: War Machine, the Silver Savage, USAgent, Beta Ray Bill, etc.)?
4. Even though only 5 of the 70 characters in the Marvel Universe poll are supposed to be made into figures, is Hasbro considering maybe making a few more characters from that list into figures?
5. Is Hasbro or any major retail chain planning on making any Marvel Universe army builder sets (SHIELD agents, Ultimatum soldiers, Hellfire mercenaries, Steelskull troopers, etc.)?

Flint 02-23-2009 12:31 PM

When is the Spiderman and his amazing friends set being released.

sparkhunter 02-23-2009 12:37 PM

When will the nick fury mail order be avaialble and what will be needed (ups codes or special stickers like gi joe doc)

Any chance of seeing marvel zombies

trebleshot 02-23-2009 12:49 PM

1. Are there any future plans for 6" Marvel Legends, and if so, will they include Build-A-Figure accessories?

2. What other characters can we look forward to in the Marvel Universe/Fury Files line? Will there be more multi-packs like Secret Wars?

3. Are there any plans to introduce other size classes for the Marvel Crossovers line, such as an ultra/leader Galactus/Taa-II?

alinne 02-23-2009 12:54 PM

1) Any chance on seeing the "movie version" figures of older movies released, i.e. a Jennifer Garner Elektra, David Hasslehoff as Nick Fury,Kevin Nash as The Russian, or Kesley Grammer as the Beast?

2) Any chance on artist-specific lines? With the Wolverine figures we have different versions of Sabretooth, based on past designs. I would love to see a "Kirby" series or a "Liefeld" series based off their designs.

3) Pet Avengers. Make it happen.

4) Since Hasbro controls both the Marvel and Transformers line, could we get co-branded Circuit Breaker and/or Death's Head figures?

5) Any chance on non-humanoid characters? i.e. Devil Dinosaur, Warlock (New Mutants), Sauron

boombatty 02-23-2009 01:01 PM

Q's

1) Any chance of multiple head packs (ala Beachhead from the GI Joe 25th line)? I would love to get Skrull head swap outs.
2) Beyond the pick 5 (of 70) will there be any similar fan choice picks (as many fan favs were missing such as Task Master (v1 and v2), Deathlok, Stryfe, Sinister, Cyber, Nth Man and on and on)? A fan generated list and voting mechanism would rock.
3) Will the scale stay relatively the same (as the Showdown sets went from 3.75" to about 4.25" from wave 1 to 2)?
4) Will we see any Marvel 2099 in 2009?

Good question.

ferndog1980 02-23-2009 01:14 PM

Marvel Universe Q&A

1) Are the X-men Origins Wolverine figures considered part of the marvel universe collection or will marvel universe make, for example their own Gambit?
2) Will you make new versions of characters already being made better, like Human Torch (flame on)?

sparkhunter 02-23-2009 01:26 PM

Ultron, Vision, the rest of the avengers?
Would like to see secret identity 2 packs ( peter parker and a spidy) (tony stark and iron man)

nice one!

Beast 02-23-2009 02:48 PM

Just an FYI...

Try to avoid asking about specific characters. You can ask in general if there's plans for certain characters or teams, but Hasbro's keeps upcoming figures fairly close to the chest. You can be sure if it was on the poll list, it's on Hasbro's internal lists. Especially Paper Bag Spidey. They love him.

Also, don't bother asking about Marvel Legends right now. Any information is going to be held for the reveal at San Diego Comic Con later this year.

clevelandhags 02-23-2009 02:52 PM

Secret Identity Figures would be great.

They answered this a while back, and the answer is no. Marvel Universe sticks specifically to the comics and nothing else.

But my question is simple (please ask this!):

The Star Wars line of Mighty Muggs was announced at Toy Fair to be going Toys R Us exclusive in the fall. Since then, some sites have reported that ALL Mighty Muggs are going Toys R Us exclusive, including Marvel. Some sources have said this is not true. Could you clarify? Will Marvel Mighty Muggs become Toys R Us exclusive in the fall?

Circuit Breaker would be amazing. And she was in Secret Wars 2 so Game On!

Considering how hated Secret Wars 2 is, I wouldn't say game on yet.

Unless you really want Spider-Man and Potty Training Beyonder.

Snowflakian 02-23-2009 05:46 PM

When will we see a Darkhawk Figure v1 armor and his V2 armor?

Will we eventually get an Emma figure? Or wolverine in his astonishing x-men outfit? Ultimate X-men? The astonishing X-men team?

Will we ever get figures of Rogue, Kitty Pryde, Forge, Black widow, black cat, and Jubilee? In origins, or Fury Files.

Any plans for anti-venom or Nova?

How many different Ironman armors should we expect over the coming year? And when will Titanium Man and Crimson Dynamo hit shelves?

With how hard it is to find fury files or wolverine in stock at retail outlets, are there any plans of them increasing the amount of space for them?

Any plans for Marvel 2099 figures? Like X-nation, Doom, Spiderman, X-men, or even Fantastic 4 repaints?

Shin Densetsu 02-23-2009 06:34 PM

1-Are swappable hands and heads a possibility in the future, without an increase in price? Wave 12 Flint from the G.I. Joe line came with a swappable head, same with comic pack Beachhead. The 6" Marvel Legends 2 packs are popular with collectors due to the swappable heads and hands included, and if these are implemented with Marvel Universe, I think the figures will be more popular than they already are. For example, Spiderman could come with a Peter Parker head, Spiderman head with mouth showing, closed fists, open hands, hand with camera molded on, and web shooting hands.

2-Is a battle pack of the Original X-Men a possibility in the future?

3-Evolutions sets are popular with Star Wars and on fans' wishlists for Marvel Universe. Are Evolutions sets being looked into for Marvel Universe?

4-Will display stands for Marvel Universe be made, for example in future waves or offered through HasbroToyShop.com?

5-Will comic packs go beyond Secret Wars?

I wonder if that is the figure coming in the "Gigantic Battles" Sentinel set.

Oh man that would be cool. I LOVE the Transformers Marvel Crossovers. Definitley better than the Star Wars versions, and a lot better than the Toy Biz robots.

Ash Talon 02-23-2009 06:41 PM

1. Will you be retiring the MU Black Panther body, since its style of articulation doesn't match the rest of the line? I know it's being used again for Blade, but it really doesn't hold up to the rest of the line.

2. When can we expect some female characters in MU? This year?

3. Will all 12 MU Secret Wars 2packs be out this year?

4. Why was a plastic t-bar used in the MU hips as opposed to a metal one like in the new GI Joe line? I think a metal bar gives a better feeling of durability which is a sore point for some people about the MU line.

5. When will the 2nd wave of Marvel Legends 2packs be released? We know they're a shared TRU/Diamond exclusive, but when are they expected to be released?

6. Some of the characters in the Anniversary Poll are in rather odd costume choices, such as Wonder Man, Storm, and Psylocke. Why? Are their more recognizable outfits already being planned, so this poll is just an option for more obscure costume choices?

7. Will there be MU Battle Packs offered as well?

8. Will there be any MU Target exclusives this year?

9. When can we expect pictures of the SDCC Exclusives?

uberlad 02-23-2009 07:31 PM

Dearest Hasbro:

Is there any chance of settling on one articulation style as standard across the Marvel-related lines? For example, the Wolverine Origins figs have a different style arms and legs than the Marvel Universe figs.

As a matter of fact, if you could settle all lines on the GI Joe style articulation with leg screws, no hip balls or bicep swivels, that would be OK by me .

P.S. I couldn't be happier about the Marvel U line and the lineup choices so far. Thanks!~
