Marvel vs Capcom 3 Minimates Accidentally Revealed

Well, now we know why the announcement was kinda out of left field.

But on the bright side, I might try to collect this entire run. I know there are quite a few I want to pick up already, just based on the pics so far.

I just don't know where I'm going to put them all once I get them. :D

ludovicotek 02-17-2011 07:36 AM

They all look great! I'm so happy they included Ghost N' Goblins' Arthur in the lineup!

Snowflakian 02-17-2011 08:51 AM

Zero, Dante, X-23, Amaterasu, and others all look well worth getting. Can't wait!

Shin Densetsu 02-17-2011 12:40 PM

Fuck yea, ZERO FTW! Hopefully this means X is on the way eventually.

X is not in the game.

True but I'm hoping for moar Mega Man minimates...maybe their own series.

That would be awesome. I would love Minimates of all the characters from the first three Mega Man games.

Stayinclean 02-17-2011 05:33 PM

I'm not a fan of minimates, but these really don't look bad at all.

That would be awesome, especially if they did Zero series and ZX series minimates! Then again, I'm partial to their designs over classic and X.

I wouldn't mind, I dug those designs! Parts swapping would be very fun.

scarecrow 02-17-2011 10:49 PM

I never thought I'd ever see a Zero minimate, so this is super awesome!!!

Aside from a distinct lack of Shuma-Gorath (hey, they've done weirder things for Ghostbusters), these look pretty good. I just want to see what the packaging duos/box sets are.

ZeoVGM 02-19-2011 09:24 AM

All this does is make me want a line of MvC3 Marvel Universe figures.

Johnnyakiba 02-19-2011 01:11 PM

I am waiting for some Hsien Ko...

The minimates are pretty cool but just not my cup of tea when it comes to collecting. I'd pull the old wallet right out though if they were going with your idea of the figures in the Marvel Universe style.

With so many toy lines doing figures around the 4" height it seems like something that would be popular with collectors and something that would be popular with kids since they could add the characters to the other toys they have in that scale.

Sadly not going to happen anytime soon with Jazwares having the SF and Megaman licenses for just that.

So that's the closest we'll get.

Eh, I'm sure if Hasbro wanted to make an MvC3 line, they could easily get the rights.

Maybe, but it'd involve getting the rights from Jazware with Capcom agreeing.
Seeing as how the plan is for figures of the same size class anyway from jazwares, they'd be in direct competition, so odds are extremely slim it'd happen at the same time.

Toybiz was able to do it, because stateside no one had the SF rights, and bandai US(?) Megaman's rights only extended to the tv show not the classic era game characters. It's only a slight difference, but with licensing that slight difference of tv and game libraries can make all the difference.

I agree. It seems highly unlikely that Hasbro would go to all the legal trouble to produce the figures when they already have so many toy lines going that haven't covered all the popular characters.

It would be cool, but not very likely from the Hasbro end. Although with 4" becoming so popular there might be some remote chance of the owners wanting to cash in on that market somehow, just not with Hasbro.
