TMNT has been rebooted more times that a Windows ME computer. But the Turtles prosper more often than not. Talk your toys and more here.

MegaPrime33 04-08-2011 04:15 AM

I keep seeing the re-release of the original turtle van at TRU, and I never jump on it. And I know that as soon as I actually decide to get it, they will be gone. It's just one of those things.

Yea I've seen it too and passed. It might be a cool vehicle for ML and DCUC to ride in though if they'll fit. :)

You know what was awesome? The blimp! I use to have that as a kid. It had a trigger handle so you could shoot bad guys.

Shin Densetsu 04-08-2011 03:16 PM

They'll prosper more if either playmates finally steps their game up or another toy company snags thed license

GK Punk 04-08-2011 03:34 PM

According to the Nickelodeon event staff members of a site I mod for was invited to, the new playmates line should be pretty great. can't wait to see them.

Evantainment 04-08-2011 04:15 PM

I'm hoping that we keep getting original series DVDs til the series is complete. Not sure if the sell to Nick affected this. What are we up to? Season 8 now? I'm only up to 6 myself. There's also apparently 3 missing episodes, Once Upon a Time Machine and the Planet of the Turtleoids two-parter, but I'm not sure where these fit in.

As far as toys go, I'm looking forward to them. The 4Kids toys were pretty cool. I think my fav were the Toddler Turtles. I never did see any of the Fast Forward toys. Show was okay, but thought the toys looked awesome. Were they ever released?

I wasn't too crazy about the TMNT movie toys. There was nothing wrong with them per se, they just didn't appeal to me for some reason.

I'd also like to see more classic toys released. April O'Neil still warms many shelves, and I think Donatello was the only actual turtle I saw when these were out.

GK Punk 04-08-2011 04:18 PM

Right now, it's not looking like the last two classic DVDs will be released anytime soon. Nick does not own those.

Primacron 04-09-2011 03:19 AM

Anyone else got the NECA comic turtles? I painted the bandanas cartoon colours style, but I think they're pretty cool.

Slightly randomly, I want a 3.75" Shredder to go with my display of comic book villains. What do you reckon my chances are?

MegaPrime33 04-09-2011 04:24 AM

I debated a lot on the neca box set. But since they're now hard to find and crazy expensive on ebay, I've lost interest.

Evantainment 04-10-2011 08:28 PM

I thought the NECA set was really cool, but I could never decide between colour or black and white. Also seemed like a lot of money. Had a single carded figure or two in my hands as well a few times, but never got one. At this point, I'm really looking forward to what new stuff Playmates brings us.

T16skyhopp 04-11-2011 06:51 AM

If you like the comic style the NECA figures are well worth hunting down.

Custom route, but I know what you mean, man I love the 3.75

Dylan in Oregon 04-23-2011 05:18 PM

The hell happened to the quote? Sorry Prima!

And I'd love to get my hands on the NECA set, but the originals are still a party!

Seeing those originals takes me back to the early 90's when kids were going mad for them - I remember hearing about parents queuing for hours.

Yeah you're probably right about custom being the way to go, although I've got a load of transformers customs planned so by the time I get round to Shredder there'll probably be a TMNT 3.75" line!

Shin Densetsu 04-24-2011 07:02 PM

Playmates has some decent figures in their luchadore line that I saw at toys r us. Admittedly I was surprised at the articulation. Hopefully the new turtles won't let us down.

Falconhood 01-16-2012 05:21 AM

is there a new line coming? I've only recently gotten reinterested in the TMNT line. I seem to recall a rumor of a CLASSICS styled line...but it may have just been a wish by a fan.

Some Turtle love...

You realize you're getting old when you set up your turtles for a photo shoot while listening to the music of the one and only "Mannheim Steamroller-Fresh Aire"! Life is good folks! Enjoy it...

Glad to find this thread. A friend just got me into collecting these guys. Been a fan of show since it debuted but pretty much a Marvel collector but with MU seemingly dying and Legends harder and harder to find this line has been a breath of fresh air. Figures are cheaper and so much better distribution. Still love my ML but these guys have me hooked. For proof in 2 weeks I've picked up all four Turtles,Splinter,Baxter,MOUSERS,Shredder,Rahzar,Fi shface,2 movie Foot (nameless goons),4 Kraangs, and four Foot. Oh top that off with one of those 15 dollar lairs a few weeks ago that I bought for my Marvel guys. I guess I've got Turtle flu. Lol

WHen does Playmates' original comic book style Turtles come out? I keep looking when I am at the stores but I might be looking or them way too soon.

I believe they are to come out with Tiger Claw and the Robotic Foot Soldier. So they should be out now in some parts of the country. I have been looking around here and no luck yet, but where I am they seem to get here like a month after everyone else gets em...

I still haven't seen the "LARP" wave yet :| I'm not really excited for it regardless, but I figured I'd at least pick up a Donnie.

See I thought the LARP ones were pretty cool, and would maybe appeal to other collectors who aren't even into TMNT as much. I have been seeing them peg warm on shelves now. Not as many Donnies, but the other 3. I'm even starting to see an April figure here and there, which I had not really seen since she first came out...

Entertainment $$$ is limited and I can only afford so much of what I want each paycheck. I just pick Don from each non-basic wave and am good.
