Some Captain America Figures

6 Attachment(s)
Some Captain America figures that I am aware of so far. Thoughts?

jamesmruddy 05-23-2011 07:06 PM

So far I am liking what I have seen and I am really looking forward to more from this line.

Jason Abbadon 05-23-2011 07:15 PM

When do those sweey HYDRA goons come out? I need a bunch- hopefully they'll be single carded and easily available.

Tiberius 05-23-2011 07:18 PM

Mmmmmm...Hydra <3

Optimus Vader 05-23-2011 07:25 PM

Out of wave one and two I'd say there's about 50% gems and 50% garbage. Love WW2 Cap, Movie Cap, Winter Soldier, and of course,.. Bucky.

I believe there hasn't been any news on when or how the Hydra figures will be released. But I'm assuming that they're going to be released as single carded figures. At least that's what I'm hoping because, I too, want to army build these mofo's.

omega145 05-23-2011 07:31 PM

I agree with Optimus, 50% good, 50% garbage.
Ill wait to see what those hydra troops look like in person.

The normal HYDRA soldier looks great- and will look great with the six(!) Hydra soldiers and Viper I have on display already.
My Baron Strucker is almost complete as well....!

I would love for TRU to do an exclusive 3 pack of them....similar to the SHIELD, HYDRA, Hand Ninja, set.

Like you, I always prefer to have small armies, AIM guys, Hydra, Skrulls. So that makes me want several of these guys.

jamesmruddy 05-23-2011 07:42 PM

Wonder if we will some form of Iron Cap in this line?

I think it is possible to see an Iron Cap later in the line as a single carded figure. It's not like they have to go out of there way to make a new mold, it's only a re-release so I think it's possible. I might add that darker colours would be nice though.

Agreed on the darker colors.

NOTHING in Atlanta either. Tired of wasting gas. I just need to wait. Reminds me of when I was driving around looking like a fool searching out Wave 1s.

Try Canada. Then go back to NYC. You'll be thankful for NYC.

You and me both man. None down in Tennessee. I may do a day trip this weekend up to St. Louis, they always seem to get good stuff.

M3T4L V1KING 05-25-2011 07:29 PM

Here's some news, the bigger Hydra guy (the one between Red Skull and the other one) is being released as a Deluxe figure.

Colder Soldier 05-25-2011 08:18 PM

I like most of them. This is my first time ever going and buying (almost) am entire line that is 90% one character. I do love me some Cap though.

Bucky Cap is the coolest,
WW2 Cap is the crappest,
and I wish ALL figures had full articulation and a regular shield.

It seems like a lot of people hate WW2 cap. I think he's the coolest so far. He's definitely better than the "Heavy Artillery" Cap figure.

I should of gotten Ultimate WW2 cap when I could have, and use him with my Invaders. That WW2 Cap was always the coolest looking one. Maybe then I can use my first appearance one to make the Cancer-verse Captain America...hmm hmm hmmmmmm...

that....a creepy cool suggestion!
DAMN! Now I wish I'd thought to get a spafe captain Mar-Vell when he was so common down here!

That cancerverse Cap had a pentegran emblem and red points in his eyes...anything else? I think that was it.

A Cancerverse Hulk might be cool too- he had ram's horns on his head....before Cosmo (the telepathic/telekenitic dog) killed him with a massive stroke that is.
Love that dog.

Hopefully that means a normal carded Hydra agent for the other one -the one I really want!
Paint the normal Hydra agent a lighter shade of green and you almost have the classic MU Hydra goon.
Close enough.

Okay- it's a lot more!-
Still very do-able!

Tiberius 05-26-2011 12:30 AM

A bit of sanding, some molding, darker paint. I think I can do it, be interesting to see =D.

IMO, only thing WW2 Cap has over regular Cap is wrist articulation. Other than that, WW2 Cap is thin and lanky (I thought that was the problem before he took the serum). Not only that, his sculpt really ain't that great, and some of his articulation doesn't even work all that well. On mine and my friends, his left arm won't go all the way down at the shoulder. The balled hips have no use because either way the ball is turned, you can't "close" his legs. He is a nice companion fig to the other MU Caps, but they're lanky with teeny heads too.

As for HA Cap, brawny, durable, and sculpted fairly well. The biggest let down is the no wrist aticulation. Some people "think" he's short, but he's not. His stockiness gives that illusion. He's as tall as the movie Iron Men and a lot taller than the 25th Snake Eyes. Every other Hasbro 1/18th (Joe, MU, SW,) fig is out of scale from the next anyway, especially Marvel. The heights of the new Cap toys all work close to perfect for the better scaled toys Hasbro figs, though. Cap and Bucky Cap look beautiful next to the new Avengers and GIJoe.
