Scarlet Spider Variant

The variant is the upside down one with a "Spiderman" name plate right? If so you guys think i should open it? I collect loose but hes so cool in package.

scarecrow 08-09-2011 09:41 PM

If you like it the way it looks in the pack I'd suggest getting two... Ben is one of my favorite figures in the line... One of the few I actually dropped cash for.

As far as monetary value goes, I can guarantee he won't be worth more than the regular one.

Haloid1177 08-09-2011 09:54 PM

I want the variant strictly to keep MOSC. Hell, I bought two of the regular version and opened both.

omega145 08-10-2011 03:56 AM

It'll be worth as much as the upside down spiderman.

gpmartin414 08-10-2011 04:59 AM

So people are finding the rightside-up one?

omega145 08-10-2011 05:25 AM

I've found both. The rightside up is in the case with the clear Dr. Strange and the normal Dr. Strange is in the case with the upside down Scarlett Spider.

dashmcsmash 08-17-2011 09:25 AM

anyone got a rightside-up Scarlett spider for a normal Dr. Strange??

M3T4L V1KING 08-17-2011 09:35 AM

I personally want to keep all variants MOC. But once in a while there's that figure that has a variant that is more common than the regular version. Scarlet Spider being one of those versions. So I'd say go ahead and open it.

I do. Just picked up 2 last week at target. Need me some Strange.

Pyro 08-17-2011 01:31 PM

It's just upside down... I don't see why it's so special as a variant.

Some strange is good every once in a while. ;)

Dylan in Oregon 08-17-2011 01:39 PM

^ The figure stand on the upside down one says "Spider-Man".

Dylan in Oregon 08-17-2011 01:40 PM

And yes to the strange, Ludo!

felks22us 08-17-2011 03:17 PM

I thought I was the only one that noticed that . hmmm wounder why

Ha!

Btw, found the upside down Scarlet Spidey in Nor CA.

rodimus15 08-17-2011 05:48 PM

So I ended up opening him and man he is sick.

I didnt want to open him before mainly cause i know the mold and what to expect and leaving him in package would look cool.

He was definitely worth opening. He grows on me the more i play with him

Hell yes! I love the way the red just "pops"!

Amalberga81 08-17-2011 08:57 PM

for me its not variant guys, just put same figure in different pose. hasbro should do a lot of job if later want to make some variant figure, its very ridiculous to see variant figure just in different pose, gosh

I agree but when we do get variants like this they are usual in a wave of bigger variants like the astral strange in the set.

A lot of figures have alternate stands.

Scarlet Spider has an alternate Spider-man stand
Skaar has a "Son of Hulk" alternate stand
Kitty Pryde has a Shadowcat alternate stand. ~I'm remembering something that doesn't exist.
I think Iron Spider had a Spider-man alternate, but I might be wrong.
The Skrulls have an alternate stand in "skrull" writing.

They're pretty evenly packed, if I'm noticing correctly.

First time I have ever heard of this. I would also like this confirmed.

felks22us 08-21-2011 11:58 AM

Kitty Pryde has a Shadowcat alternate stand.

is there such a one out there? dont tell me it is lol ugh

NerfTW 08-21-2011 06:30 PM

Am I insane and just imagining this? I could have sworn I'd seen both.

I might just be very, very mistaken. They did come out over a year or so ago.

Shawn Woodbeck 08-21-2011 08:19 PM

I want proof. Pics would be awesome.
