Martian manhunter infinite crisis arrived

Just arrived in the mail today. I like!

DC Univers Infinite Crisis 3.75 inch MARTIAN MANHUNTER - eBay (item 280720014980 end time Aug-08-11 11:51:27 PDT)

thechris 08-14-2011 12:23 AM

Um... ok. Congrats. Is he rare? LOL. Cause I saw like tons of them at TRU back in the day and I live in Canada where this sort of thing doesn't happen with rare figures.

omega145 08-14-2011 02:24 AM

Most of that entire infinite crisis toyline was crap. I just traded off my collection minus the deathstroke because I actually like the figure. The martian manhunter looks ok.
Did a thread really need to be made for this?

It really wasn't that bad. Only things lacking on some of the figures in terms of articulation were bicep swivels and thigh swivels and we got that in the end, though too little too late.

Jason Abbadon 08-14-2011 12:12 PM

He does have thicg swivels! nice! I may have to track down the articulated versions for custom bodies- can you tell us whaich figs got the swivels?

xbuster 08-14-2011 04:27 PM

thechris - Thanks, he is not too rare, you won't find him at TRU now though lol so you could say he is harder to find then the new stuff the other newer threads are talking about. I just got a good deal on him.

omega145 - thats your problem/opinion that you got rid of the line. People can make threads as they wish here and not everyone shares your same interests. Apparently it seems that others are interested and yes it really deserves its own thread.

Swivel bodies:

-Public enemies 3 and 6 packs Superman, Batman, Captain atom, and Major Force.

-Starro SDCC Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter

-Deathstroke single card

-Earth 2 Robin single card

-Martian Manhunter single card

-Batman single card

-Black adam single card

Please realize if everyone made a new thread every time they got a figure from eBay, this forum would be a total mess.

This post belongs here: The "Look At What I Just Got!" Thread - Toy Discussion at Toyark.com

Not trying to be a d*ck, but your post is far too specific to deserve its own thread.

thechris 08-14-2011 05:07 PM

Also, most of the figures in the Doomsday pack and the OMAC Attack pack have swivel bodies. :)

Didnt say it was my problem, only stating my opinion and it was my own choice to get rid of them because once they were in my collection they didnt stand up in quality or appearance to the MU line in any way.

A thread about the infinite crisis toy line would be appropriate but I dont see how a thread would need to be created about you picking up one figure. If everyone did that then there would be a ton of new threads every day.

Anyway, about that Martian Manhunter, it actually looks decent.

Why aren't they all like that? I think the OP needs to post pics of him out of package doing things. Can't really say it is a must have, even though MM is one of my all time favorite comic book characters of all time. Did I say of all time?

xbuster 08-14-2011 05:43 PM

You guys are right. I probably should have put this in that "look what i got" thread. When i said deserving it's own thread, i was just expressing that it is somewhat important.

On another note, I thought it is interesting when there is more new threads to read. Are we trying to limit the thread topics? Not like everyone is lining up to clog the DC topics anyway.

Omega 145 - i agree it does not stand up to the MU line thou.gh

omega145 08-14-2011 05:56 PM

I also like to read new threads but not the same thread with wish lists and what I got. I would think thats what the collection showcase and like you said, look what I got thread. Not trying to be a jerk or anything so please dont take it personal.

Since the thread is already open, how about some opened pics like Tiberius suggested?

xbuster 08-14-2011 09:33 PM

Thanks omega145,

i might keep this one MOC not sure though.

thechris 08-14-2011 10:48 PM

Here's some pics I just took quickly. Sorry, it was on my camera phone, I'm tired, didn't have time to set up anything dramatic so I just laid it flat on my DC Universe Starro Attacks Boxset/Diorama with narrative provided by "the voice of Batman" Kevin Conroy himself (Also the only way to get an official Aquaman for this series).

Articulation, personally I think the ball joints give amazing articulation in the legs, better than most figures in the Marvel Universe

Compared to other good guy figures

Hawkman and martian are best two in the whole picture.

thechris 08-15-2011 04:07 AM

Yeah, Hawkman definitely gets props. It had a solid sculpt and very comic book accurate. Firestorm and Nightwing looked pretty badass, too, though you probably wouldn't be able to tell from my blurry picture.

Jason Abbadon 08-15-2011 09:40 AM

Hawkman is really proportioned weird though- really long arms and more muscular than Superman!

Great wing details though!

I was waiting for someone to comment on that one. LOL.

Tiberius 08-15-2011 11:50 AM

If all the figures where like MM then I would EASILY collect these guys. Such a shame :(.

I agree to a certain extent. I started to buy them as I was building my MU collection and realized that most werent that good.
Just traded them for the zombie mini-mates which im much happier with.
The only figure I kept was the Deathstroke and I think he's pretty cool once you give him a gun.

I am hoping this DC reboot brings new 3 3/4 figures. Something Mattel can compare to MU....Oh that would be one hell of a dream.

Instead of your beautiful dream, we got the nightmare which is the Young Justice figure line. Just when we thought the Green Lantern movie line was a low point for Mattel and 3 3/4" or 4" figures...they were able to surpass our lowest expectations.

I fully agree with you.

Also, it is amazing how far a little hip ball joints swivels can go. I might even pick up some select Star Wars 2011 vintage just because of the new ball swivel hips.

What's funny is Hawkman is a completely new and unique sculpt. They were trying to do something special with him and had they kept the new sculpt but used a pair of uncoloured Superman arms, this would have been perfectly proportioned but I can forgive this since an effort was made, however misguided. LOL.
