Custom Deadpool jet in progress
1 Attachment(s)
I picked up 1 of those Captain America jets and loved it since I took it out, the detail throughout is great, tiny rivots, tons of wings, opening cockpit and great interior cockpit detail, but I hated the cheap red plastic and the blue and white didn't agree with me, so I took it apart, sculpy filled the screw holes on the entire bottom of the ship, then sanded it down, and have been working on a couple coats of flat black, I'm going to be adding, more detail just debating to make it deadpool colors or red, black and white or xforce colors chrome and black, and then I'm debating on making it all weathered and possible battle damaged or keep it looking new. here's some progress pics so far, and let me know what paint scheme you think would look best.

I'd just leave it black and put the Deadpool logo on the wings

I like the Deadpool idea... with weathering.

I was very excited when I read this title that you were making the pirate ship from the newer Deadpool series where he bought a pirate ship just because he had the money.

I think I need to go buy every Deadpool comic there is now. |
It really happened. Bullseye paid him off to lay low, and he had it all converted to gold, bought and armed a tugboat and made Bob be his parrot.

for some reason i picture deadpool sitting on top of it in mid flight, holding onto a harness attached to the ship with one hand and a boombox in the other blasting ride of the valkyries asking "how the heck am i flying this!?"

Yeh I previously had the thread called Deadpool's ship in the spaceship sence, but it didn't sound right and renamed it jet. The paint is not even close yet, all the individual pieces for the most part of a solid coat of black, I'm going to apply a 2nd to them and then I need to finish a full coat on the jet, the bottom had about 10 holes that were filled and sanded down, half the reason why I thought deadpool for this is because on the missle arms that attatch on the undercarrage on each side there's the circle with the line down the middle it's a perfect logo for it. I'm going to paint it all black with drybrush added to the wings and jets and copper details maybe with hints of green rust to certain areas, I haven't decided if I want to distress it with "bullet holes"/"lazer strikes" or just leave it as is. Then from there maybe paint a few deadpool emblems by hand, but the most of it was going to be faded/weathered red and black paint. I have tomorrow off and hope to finish it, or atleast most, will update the thread with new pics. It just takes so bloody long because each piece is double sided so paint 1 side wait, flip it paint, flip it paint and so on. I love the missles that came with it, actually shaped like missles not bugger launchers. Neways thanks for the updates, and ps no idea Deadpool had a ship... I need to start reading his comics more. I've found a 1:18 red vespa online I'd like to buy lol.

Just noticed this thread's still called ship instead of jet, damn advanced options!

here's an update on the progress so far, I've finished the coats of black and have done 99% of the drybrushing, there's a few areas I have to redo and a few spots on the bottom I haven't gotten to yet, but here's the drybrush work thush far:
http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00889.jpg http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00894.jpg http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00892.jpg http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00891.jpg http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00895.jpg After finishing the little bit of drybrushing silver is done, I'm going to touching up areas with bronze highlights and the wiring I'm going to do lime green in honor of Doop, then from there I'll be adding a red wash to the wings. And depending on how I like the outcome I may paint more layers of red to make some areas look like new paint.. enjoy |
wow this looks good. Can't wait to see it done.
|

here's an update guys and girls! Had a few hours tonight to do some more finish work on th Deadpool jet, still some more touch ups and few more details, then it's off to clearcoat and final assembly.
main shot http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00898.jpg overview of the front wiring section, painted bright green in omage to Deadpool's buddy Doop. http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00899.jpg sideview http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00904.jpg added gold to the turbine casing, I'll be adding copper to the blades, just put the wings back on for people to get an idea what the finished thing will look like http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00900.jpg wheel detail http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00903.jpg missles assembled, not sure if I want to keep them weathered or paint them and added decal numbers.. http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00902.jpg |

Can we expect to see some DP logos on that baby?
|
This is getting even closer to Epic status!!!
|
Oh yeh for sure, the last pic of the missles below, the end of each missle housing where it attatches to the base has the deadpool belt buckle logo on it, I'm going to be painting white eyes in there and I may try to find a way to print off some decals on to some sticker paper. I will probably be taking a drill to it soon to make some of the wings look like they got peppered in a dog fight, and some more rust and a tiny display for the dash controls. It's coming 1 step at a time.

awsome work , keep it up , i forgot to ask id it 3.75 or 6 inch size model ?

Here's some more updated pics it's been clear coated, I still need to touch up a few paint rub issues and paint the eyes on the deadpool logo but it's almost there. http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00917.jpg http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00916.jpg http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00913.jpg http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00915.jpg http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSC00912.jpg |
