Absorbing man variant question????
 

Does anyone know for sure which version is the variant?? Picture on the back shows metal version.. Usual the picture is the normal version..

I never knew that, but the Art on the front is normal, correct?

it appears, like the transparent Dr. Strange, the so called "variant" is being released first en masse.

PRETTY sure the non-metal version is the variant. But I can't say that in all confidence.

Figure is SO cool. I love my Secret Wars one a lot too. Maybe I should paint him Metal, or at least half metal...GOOD IDEA TIBERIUS!

Was going to pass on this figure because I do have the SW pack of him. But this picture of him all metal just sold me to get him!

Yeah I felt the same way. I think the Metal Skinned version is vastly superior to the original.

Just a metal skinned version for myself. I don't see the point in a version of himself not using his power... Besides MOC collector purposes.

Or, you buy a little jar of silver model paint for $3 and save money and time.

Or, you can be a lazy fat shit like me and not paint anything but also enjoy the paint scheme on the pants of the new figure.

I guess painting them yourself depends on motivation, skill, and the rarity of the figure. I would personally suggest painting an older, easier to find version of the Absorbing Man and keeping the new one MOC.

That works too. I'm more inclined to paint just because I love craft projects :)

I like the new pants on the metal skinned one. You could paint the SW to look like that but it would be pretty damn hard to replicate.

It's just all around easier for me to buy the figure then paint one myself.

Not wanting to highjack the thread, but it is kind of on topic to the paint discussion. I did this in 30 minutes, simple undercoat of black and then dry brush silver.
