Toy store for sale

TOY STORE STOCK! HE-MAN LEGO STAR WARS GI JOE MARVEL LEGENDS DC UNIVERSE SPAWN | eBay

sooooooooo many toyssssss!!!!! :D

DogFashionDisco 01-20-2012 07:14 PM

WTF? I think its funny and lame that if you were to spend $45,000, ebay only gives you $100 in ebucks. What a scam. Also, St. Peters is only about an hour drive from me, I wonder what this store was?

wolverine2281 01-20-2012 07:15 PM

Not bad. I might make an offer tonight...

While I'm dreaming

I made an offer of 10 bucks :p

flipwilson 01-20-2012 07:28 PM

I've been to that store a while ago, it's in a mall, but I completely forgot the name of it. It was a pretty cool place.

Tiberius 01-20-2012 07:28 PM

Bought, said he would ship to my store for an extra grand. Muhahahahahaha

Shawn Woodbeck 01-20-2012 07:35 PM

Thats freakin nuts! Who would buy ALL of this at one time? Maybe a nuclear physicist? ;)
I would break the stock up and then post it but, ALL of it. Crazy

Maybe someone who wanted to open a store, but honestly, this stuff will never sell. $45,000 is soooo much money.

JustryGT 01-20-2012 07:51 PM

That was offered at least once before. I think it is just too high.

I think this seller is "too high", they would have trouble selling that stuff for even $5000.

JustryGT 01-20-2012 08:23 PM

It averages to be $7.22 per item but that is not really fair , because it says some items are high end pieces. I do see way too many $4.00 star wars toys in the photos.

Exactly. Im sure theres a TON of unsellable sh*t in there.

This is an inventory buy out. Not bad, but not great. Would've been a better offer if it wasn't just an inventory buy out and he was handing over ownership of the entire store and the lease to the space. That at least would shave a few dollars off the toys, otherwise we're still buying a lot of these items at least a little above cost. Owner is clearly trying to offload the items at a small profit or break even on the cost but isn't really a smart move if he has no alternative storage and it would be even worse if he had to pay for storage, it would ultimately shave off his profits on his lot. Probably cost 3 or 4hundred to store all of this. It's silly. It's like those eBayers who relist a toy only worth $10 for $25 each week. Nobody buys it and they end up having to pay listing fees on it again everytime it doesn't sell. One of the places I worked at years back sold collectible miniatures and every month that stuff didn't sell, we lost thousands in listing costs until they had to close it down.

Exodus 01-21-2012 12:50 AM

Wow you really can sell anything on ebay...well almost anything tangible that is...

Jason Abbadon 01-21-2012 02:17 AM

This is probably some poor sap's ex-wife selling his collection she won in the divorce.

Or it could be an actual store that got foreclosed on, lock, stock and barrell.
Or stuff that found it's way out of a TRU stockroom by a disgruntled employee.

warmachine6 01-21-2012 04:25 AM

by the power of grey skull who has that amount of cash just for toys !!!! and the amount of marvel legends they have hot dam , i would sell them indivially on ebay

iLegends73 01-21-2012 05:25 AM

the funny thing is i know a guy out here who has a few shops and he might be interested in this

Tarquinius 01-21-2012 07:25 AM

On this note: how cool would it be if you found all of this stuff in a storage locker auction (Yes...I've been watching Storage Wars).

Like you buy the unit for a grand...open up the boxes and VOILA......I might have a 22 year old heart attack right then and there.

bmorr 01-21-2012 07:37 AM

i have a store just like this in one of my local malls. collectors shop that charges a premium for figs. This guy is probably trying to sell this stuff before he files for bankruptcy.

quinten182 01-21-2012 09:29 AM

Holy shit! I KNOW this store! I live by it! I know the owner! Wowwww

Hahaha sorry couldn't resist. I think he'd make more money piecing it out.

It's a huge amount of figures. I only ever really looked at the Marvel stuff in depth. There is such a huge amount of Star Wars, I remember that because it covered an entire corner. The MU and Marvel Select stuff is mediocre at best. I don't recall anything I needed or wanted. However, the ML stuff is very nice. Lots of rare stuff too. Lots of variants and loads of early stuff and complete early series.

I'm not sure I've ever tried to judge $45,000 worth of toys as I'd never spend that much at once on anything toy related, so I can't even imagine ballparking if it's worth it or not. Especially since I don't know individual pieces and prices on non marvel figures! Sorry!

I wonder why these people don't just claim bankruptcy and sell the toys individually online if their business is doing so badly? It just seems idiotic to sit around waiting for someone to spend $45,000 on toys when the economy is this bad, and they obviously know how to use ebay. No wonder the place went under.
