Kind of expected both the Star Wars and Marvel license to be renewed at Hasbro. I like The Black Series and Marvel Legends 6 Inch figure lines. And yes some are not going to be happy about this but it is what it is.

I'm extremely excited for Indy. There has been nothing but pure GARBAGE that's only available at Disney parks for so long. I'm actually wondering if they'd sub-license it to ThreeZero as well for 1/6 figures. One can only hope haha.
For Star Wars, it mentions Master License, what does that mean exactly? Like are Hot Toys and Sideshow going through Hasbro to make 1/6 figures in some way? Or just smaller scale? Diamond Select still did a few figures last year, so I'm not really clear what that means. |
Guess I'm happy since it should mean more Vintage Collection figures but somebody really needs to work on distribution. I barely see stuff in stores anymore.

I completely forgot they're actually going through with another Indiana Jones movie.
|
^ Gonna be the first Indy movie without that Spielberg look or Lucas's writing though... so probably gonna feel entirely different.
And did the Hasbro Ghostbuster figures sell decently? I remember the OG figures pegwarming a lot, but I don't really see the Afterlife figures all that much, so maybe those sold pretty good. |

^ I also think Ghostbusters is more popular with collector crowd than Indy is, so any 6" Indy figs might sell worse than 6" Ghostbusters did. Any 6" Indy goons might sell well though.
|
For how much Indy goes hand in hand with Lucas/Star Wars, and just how gigantic that first movie was, I'm always surprised how little interest in toys there are. I'm sure the Kenner line wasn't the best seller back then but the toys did exist. A lot of people say they just want an Indy and that's all, which isn't good for whatever lines they create.

Also, LJN made figures for Temple of Doom.
|
I'm hoping Hasbro won't mismanage Indiana Jones again like they did with their releases of the 3 3/4" Kingdom of the Crystal Skull line back in 2008, where it was doomed from the start due to over production of the 1st wave.
It was a decent line with arguable likenesses. Their technology has greatly improved since then and it would be great to see a 6" Indiana Jones line hopefully with the photo real face printing and crossing fingers that we'll get Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade! |
