Starting Lineup 202x Discussion
It's coming back, and looks to be 6 inch modern articulation style.
I hope this line is awesome.
That sounds very cool and fun. Looking forward to this.
o I can have NBA players join the Joe team? Intriguing!

I would buy Lebron just so I could blow him up!
Give me every Lebron!
Looking forward to the NBA stuff. Times sure have changed. Gone are the days when companies used to lead with MLB.
This looks intriguing. Would love to see them do team mascots too

Wow, this is pretty exciting news. I collected quite a bit of SLU back in the day, then moved on to McFarlane Sportspicks.
Looking forward to NFL. Give me Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs ... oh and a Justin Jefferson. |
Love me some SLU Toys! Can't wait to see what NBA legends appear in this line!
I'm absolutely in if they make a Ryne Sandberg figure.
I'm not a sports guy but if these look good and they make athletes I might actually know, I'd be interested.
I dig they are doing this, but I haven't been into the sportsings since I was a kid. Would need retro / legendary style offerings.
And that would be Jordan era for me. Would actually like the entire Starting Lineup of the championship Bulls. Rodman run makes more sense. OG Dream Team would be nice too. Sneakers are important with NBA, so don't skimp out and give us them wearing flea market bootleg joints. Get your Nike, Addidas, etc licenses correct now. :) |
I imagine they go for the current players, not "retro" players.
Maybe at some point you get a Jordan or Kobe, but it'll probably be mostly LeBron repaints. |
IIRC, the original line started with current guys but made legends later on as the line went on. So maybe they will follow that.
I hope this re-invigorate the older Starting Lineups and McFarlane Sports figures, because I got several boxes of those stashed in the basement that no one wants! Ha ha.
Unlike comic/movie/cartoon based figures, sports figures are heavily affected by the player's popularity. Once a player is injured, switch team, or have a bad streak, the value goes DOWN and no one wants that figure anymore. |

This line is getting harder and harder not to jump in to. And they haven't even shown a figure yet!
haha, that looks terrible. mcfarlane did an amazing basket like 20 years ago. these figures are going to be over priced and look like junk. rather they just made them retro if this is the pathetic look they will have.
Honesty I could be in for some NFL figures but I'm not huge into NBA but these are going to make great gifts.
they seem to be focusing a bit to much on basketball. I guess because of the upcoming season and that's the first sport they'll hit?
Now that is a cool stand!
