Dravenheart's Introductory Custom Showcase
Creative title huh? Ok, so this was merely a quick way of posting a few items I have completed over the past couple of years. I'm not much for general hellos, so this is pretty much the best way I know of introducing myself. My work has been rather slow over the past few months, but I've come to realize that while I love building customs, and can do so all day long, I despise the slow process of painting them. lol So, enough of my inane rabble. On to the customs!
First up is my Hawkman. It took a combination of six different figures to pull this guy off, and that's not counting the hammer. I got hammers from HunterArtworks and cut and spliced them to create this one. One of my favorites by far. I'm a big fan of the Tactics Ogre games, and stumbled upon a sprite image from one of the games of a Hawkman looking very similar to this. I adapted it a bit and this was the end result. I love the fantasy lines, and plan to pump out a lot more of these soon. http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...rt/hawkman.jpg Second is Fantomex. X-Force version. Made as a commission for Nort. Another of my proudest works, but mostly due to how smoothly I actually got the white to apply. Usually it gives me major issues. I believe this one took about 7 or 8 figures to fully assemble. After he was done I almost didn't want to hand him over. lol http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m.../fantomex4.jpg The combination of Blue Skull and Bloode Skull. Ok, so I didn't just wanna call him Red Skull. Lot of confusion there. Blue Skull came from randomly putting parts together one day. Was short on ideas and had skulls from HunterArtwork, so I started dremeling and eventually put him together. Gave him the Holy Maul and threw a cross on his chest and actually really liked it. Thought of the Ankh concept, made the Ankh Axe, and created Red Skull to go along with him. Working toward eventually adding a Green Skull to the mix. http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...bluebloode.jpg Speaking of created weapons. Definitely my top favorites. I love thinking of them, I love putting them together. It's so hard to find real good accessories. So I just get whatever I can and put stuff together. Recently got a bunch of ideas so I can't wait to start work on them. But here I have the Gold Staff (inspired by a Tactics Ogre weapon), Small Chainsaws (inspired by the small chainsaw from the original Dead Rising), Spiked Bat (original attempt to make the nail bat from Dead Rising 2), and a simple idea from an axe that I couldn't resist trying. http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...t/weapons3.jpg And finally, the Paddlesaw. For a while I was actively trying to assemble as many Dead Rising 2 combo weapons as I could. Never made it far, but there's still a few I want to pull off in time. Of course, the Paddlesaw had to be done. This is actually the second one I've made, and it came out much much better than the first did. Accurate, it doesn't rub, and it looks bloody awesome. http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...paddlesaw5.jpg Well, that's it for now. I hope you enjoyed checking everything out. I look forward to putting more up and checking out the other works around here. Thanks! |
