Ever since I read House of X #5, I've had questions regarding the resurrection process. Namely, how despite Marvel being a universe where stuff like souls and otherwise quantifiable continuity of consciousness definitely exists (and without assurance of continuity of consciousness in a given situation it's usually logically portrayed as distinct clones rather than "the same person"), there's nothing at all mentioned about it in the detailed explanations of the process to resurrect mutants on Krakoa. Aren't these resurrected mutants basically just clones without that? IIRC there's definitely consideration given to avoiding creating duplicates and other such, so it's not like they're just assuming it would be The same person or haven't thought about the continuity of consciousness question. I (basically accidentally) stopped reading comics around late 2019, so I haven't been keeping up with Hickman's X-Men run past the end of House of X/Powers of X to see if any further questions about this have been answered. Has any mention of restoring mutants' souls to their resurrected bodies been made, or has Hickman actually done this on purpose as an actual story point to provide a somewhat sinister/unsettling edge to the resurrection protocols? If neither, do you think repeated killing of incarnations of a resurrected mutant is basically just filling Heaven/Hell/whatever other afterlife with copies of the same soul, identical but separate?

Having a reality warper on board might help, as well as whatever it is Hope really does. It does seem odd how little it's been touched on. It might have been touched on in X Factor if it hadn't been cancelled prematurely.

Magik, Eyeboy, Wanda and probably Pixie should be able to tell though, not to mention Dr. Strange has been there at least twice...

Hopefully it's something they'll touch on soon, whether it's "actually they have been having their souls restored this whole time, we just didn't really mention it" or "actually they haven't been having their souls restored and that's a plot point".
