So we know tooling is expensive and new figs seem to be getting less articulation so why not a few 3 packs or so that address the issue of the harder to find figures from the past?

Example:
A 3 pack of:
1) Archangel Death Mask (with Wings this time)
2) Nick Fury of SHIELD (his whiteness version)
3) Vision (not clear but the original release)

They have the molds and the EvilBay prices are crazy thanks to the less than stellar distribution of the past.

If they have to mix it up with well knowns then...

Pack 1:
1) Archangel Death Mask with Wings
2) Wolverine as Death (heck use the Kraven mold, a maskless Wolverine head and a hood/cover thing)
3) Apocalypse (don't care, make him purple, we have 3 already).

Pack 2:
1) Nick Fury of SHIELD (his whiteness version)
2) Kid Fury (his Samuel Jackson version with Steve Rodgers body) or yet another Capt. America if they have to
3) Norman Osborne of HAMMER (they have the head and the body already)

Pack 3:
1) Vision (original color)
2) Scarlett Witch or another Iron Man if they have to
3) Simon Williams (astral form - clear purple of existing mold)

Easy squeezy, reuse of molds, collectors happy, kids happy, happy happy joy joy joy

You make too much sense, boombatty.

I think another one that would sell well would be a three pack of Hydra goons and the same, but with SHIELD agents (like the TRU 3 pack from a few years back).

I'd love to get an ionic-form, translucent purple Wonder Man! I want classic Nick Fury and classic Red Skull too!

Speaking of reissues, I want an Invisible Woman in the Byrne-era costume to complete the set with the Mr. Fantastic and Thing from their respective Secret Wars packs and the Human Torch alternate paint from early in the line.

I missed out on the classic original costume Havok alternate the first time around, so I wouldn't mind seeing it reissued, perhaps in a three-pack with Polaris (a variation on the Scarlet Witch model) and ??? Banshee? or Dazzler?

What other reissues, repaints, re-purposed models do the people want?

The sub figures I do understand them not remaking but stuff like Solid Vision is puzzling. Maybe someone there actually thinks about collectors and maybe one of their conclusions is that putting out these figures piss off people who paid the high prices for them. I know some people feel like that but personally I don't think that is something the company should worry about. I've seen collectors of certain things (like Heroclix) threaten to stop collecting when high dollar items are remade but I don't think many follow through. Transformers collectors don't get pissed off they got MP-10 from Japan instead of waiting for the Hasbro release. I feel like they piss collectors off a lot more by putting peg warmers in revision cases.

The problem with re-issuing MU Vision is that he used the same body as the first release of Daredevil and Hasbro retired that mold a couple of years ago. So that means his mold is no longer available for them to do any re-issues.

If Hasbro ever does another Vision figure, it will probably be either a brand new mold or a redeco/remold of one of the newer bucks.

I don't know if that is true. Look at the reissue of Spider-Man we just got with that stubby mold as filler with new waves. I would prefer they make a new and better version but I don't think it would be very costly to pump out more of the old ones.

Which Spider-Man? I don't recall SM ever sharing a mold with DD v1. At least not in MU. The HAMMER series #32 Spider-Man (the one I keep seeing as recent filler) is the same mold as his series 1 version, only in a darker color scheme. DD's mold was different (it was the same mold used for the 2-pack Magneto, Moon Knight and the first version of Union Jack, among others).

I think you might have misunderstood. I think his point was that Vision uses the same mold/buck as the old-style Dare-Devil figure which was "retired". But, seeing as the Spidey they use for filler uses the older buck (compared to the newer buck available) it shouldn't be a problem to re-use the older mold

I could be wrong but the early wave Spider-Man looks to use most of the same part. The webs are sculpted on the chest but it's clearly the same stubby arms, legs, lower torso, etc. I think the upper torso and shoulder joints are a bit smaller.

That was part of what I meant. If they still have the parts for Spider-Man then they should have them for Vision as they clearly keep the molds and Spider-Man uses a lot of those same parts.

I think a lot of people are confused on what is a mold. While Daredevil and Spiderman have a similar buck they are not the same mold. Daredevil and Vision use the same body mold.

they could always use the archangel mold for vision and give him a different paint job.

I guess I've always just thought of buck/mold as the same thing. Don't just have a standard base they use for a lot figures and then add a little variation here and there. Like how a lot of the larger figures use most all the same parts with either different paint or minor tweaks?

im easy as long as we get one
i have a phasing version on the way,but at the moment i cant compare it to the archangel or steve rodgers mold to form an opinion.it would be nice to have a re-ish just like they did with mandarin, maybe as part of a 2-pack.

2: Wolverine foes: Cyber, Omega red: lady death strike (have we gotten any female villans yet?
Giant battles:
1:Awsome android, with clasic Thing
2:big apocalypse, with archangel
3:Celestial with High Evolutionary

and how about some old school toybiz battle damaged action. MU battle damaged...well everyone.

When it comes to MU I love building teams. Hasbro of course doesn't like to finish them...

Here's a bunch of easy 3 packs and comic packs that could finish a LOT of teams.

COMIC PACKS
Dark Avengers (Dark Reign)
Ares (re-tooled Hercules)
Noh-Varr (new head with bands and belt)

The Invaders (Vol. 1)
Jacqueline Falsworth "Spitfire" (Firestar w/ cape)
Toro (bucky body with flame head)

Secret Avengers (Heroic Age)
Sharon Carter (what was thrown together for the SDCC display)
Valkyrie (new female buck w/ new chest, head and some glued on armor pieces)

TEAM PACKS
The Avengers/New Avengers (Heroic Age)
Maria Hill (movie Black Widow w/ new head and collar added)
Jessica Jones (Mary Jane w/ new head)
Mockingbird (new head, detailing for chest, X-23 boots)

Future Foundation (The First Family)
Nathaniel Richards (standard body w/ glued on pieces for suit, new head)
Franklin Richards, Leech & Valeria Richards (3 smaller figures w/ limited poseability packed with Nathaniel)

X-Men (Extinction Team)
Hope (New head w/ a poncho and some paint)
Magik (Kitty Pryde w/ new arm & head)
Namor (Namor w/ painted pants and re-tooled chest for vest)

SINGLES
The Defenders (Vol. 2) Hellcat (new head & hands)
The West Coast Avengers (Vol. 2 #1) Tigra (new tail and a lot of paint)

So many ladies needed for so many teams.

how about a re-release of cable with a two pack of him and stryfe? It'd be a comic pack of his first appearance in new mutants 86-87.

Yes it is be a problem when one of those molds is retired while the other is not. The v1 Spider-Man mold was never retired, so it's still technically available for use (even for doing additional runs of Fury Files #32), though I don't know why Hasbro would make additional runs of that particular figure, considering the packaging itself is over four years old now. My guess is that Hasbro and/or the factory still had some in the warehouse from previous runs that they're now using for filler in the newer cases.

Exactly. And practically EVERYBODY complained about how much that mold sucked and how Hasbro should stop using it to the point that Hasbro actually listened and announced they retired the mold. Of course, any other figures using the mold that were already too far along in development at the time still got released (including the translucent variant of Vision).

FWIW, I'd be fine with them using the current DD mold as long as Vision got a new figure. I hated his original mold anyway. Of course, I'd love to have the original to complete my HAMMER series, but unless I hit up the secondary market, that ain't happening.

No problem. Those two terms get used interchangeably a lot, especially when you're dealing with more than one manufacturer. For example, Mattel likes to use buck, while Hasbro uses mold. To me, "buck" refers to the overall design/engineering of a given figure. Mold itself refers to the sum total of all of the actual parts that make up a particular figure or series of figures (minor alterations/accessories aside).

New figures out of old ones:
New SHIELD agents using the Blade/Punisher mold
New HYDRA soldiers using Wrecker mold
Classic Beast using Classic Hulk mold
Fantomex using Gambit body and Ronin head or Union Jack/Hydra head
New Black Panther using Kraven mold
Purple Man "Prof X" mold
Kingpin and Joe Fixit should be easy enough
Jim Lee Storm

Team Packs/ Three Packs/ Comic Two Packs:
The Wrecking Crew as a full set already!
Sinister Six: Electro, Rhino, Scorpion, Lizard, Kraven with a New Doc Ock
Magneto, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch either as a family or the Brotherhood, maybe throw a repainted Steve Rogers head on a Hobgoblin and call it classic Toad
Scarlet Spider, Mary Jane, Venom
Villain Two packs
Defenders Four pack with Solid Doctor Strange, New Mold Hulk, New Mold Namor and a new Silver Surfer using the same mold as Namor

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I like the Brotherhood of evil mutants idea! we need more bad guys,
goblin set: green goblin with an Osborne head, and with a couple new heads you have demogoblin, and jack-o-lantern,
Maximum Carnage set: with Venom (in the MU line) Carnage, and dopelganger.
crime lords: Kingpen, jigsaw, Tombstone
Brawlers: Abomonation, Bi-beast, and Rhino, or Juggernaut, I want this thing to weigh like two pounds!

and they could do an eveolutions series like star wars did: a first appearance, an 80's-90's common costume ect., and modern version of the same characture, this would work with almost anyone. and they could mostly use the same "Buck" or "Mold" or whatever we've decided to call it, and sell it three times in one shot!

Those all sound really cool. They really don't put out enough villains. Hell if they want to reuse molds/have peg warmers release HYDRA and SHIELD single carded figures like they did with the Hands Ninjas and AIM soldiers. Not the best army builder if it costs around $100 to make "armies" of four. We need Hellfire Club soldiers too, those should be simple to make from existing molds.

The Evolution thing sound cool too. You could have:
Weapon X, Whisker mask and Astonishing Wolverine
Classic, Acolyte and AoA Colossus
Bucky, Winter Soldier, Captain America
Hawkeye, Goliath and Ronin (two regular figures, one big figure)
Ant-Man, Giant-Man, Yellowjacket, Wasp (One big figure, two regular figures and on mini-figure)
Sgt. Fury, 616 Fury, Ultimate/Movie Fury
Grey flat head Hulk, Green flat head Hulk, Green Hulk
Falcon green, Falcon solid wings, Falcon translucent wings, beard
Phoenix, Black Queen, Dark Phoenix

2: Danger Room playset, with Danger figure
3:at least 6ft tall Stark Tower playset
4:comic accurate sinister six pack
5:castle Doom playset (huge)

Realistic Hasbro ideas:
1: all the avengers, recast,for no reason....TRANSLUCENT!
2: Modern Thor, with a slightly darker shade of red in the cape.we only have 5 people!
3: Extremis Iron man, with a metalic green paint job!
4: Comic Pack,Captain America, same old mold, slightly different shade of blue, packed with... hell a re-deco of....anyone. and make the sheild....i dont know, purple?
5: The kid that operated BOT: just repack anyone without legs.
6: peg warmers inaction pack! Wrecker, Gladiator, Namor, SilverCenturian!
