What ever happened to this figure? Is it still being released?
Not sure if I missed a memo or something lol

I'm not even sure I heard it confirmed as getting made. It always seemed like a possible future release, but not something that was definitely coming out. Especially since the BAF only needed the six that did get released for parts, and any other figures would have been superfluous to that end.

I was never too crazy about that version of Mandarin, but don't get me wrong, I definitely would have picked one up, but it's the Rescue figure that I hope still finds it's way out

They definitely put out info and pictures of it once or twice. It was never announced as being slotted anywhere. I think we assumed maybe a swap out with Ultron or something but he never appeared. Maybe an exclusive is still possible? Who knows.

I just do not understand Hasbro. Rescue, Mandarin and the new War Machine would have sold like hot cakes. Everyone would have wanted one and even people who don't usually collect probably would have picked them up as well because they looked great...I just do not get it. Who the heck is running the Marvel Legends department?

I am guessing they will just break the Legends into theme waves for a 4 or 5 wave run per year. I know they want to try and tie into movies as much as possible but the Cap:WS line of Legends is 3 movie figures out of 9 in the line and ASM:2 has 2 out of 9. If they decide to do an Iron Man line they could do WM Mk2 and movie Mandarin and have Rescue and 3 to 6 other figures in the line. Do an Avengers line with 2 or 3 movie characters and the rest comic version, same with X-men, Thor, or even Guardians. I feel like this is about the only way we will see Marvel Legends continue.

War Machine will possibly be showing up in Avengers 2, so its possible we could get that one in the Legends line for Avengers: AOU.

Hasbro knows that the majority of people don't want it because the character is a joke. I think once they bringin the real mandarin, they will release a Legends Mandarin figure.
I have always thought that Trevor was made to LOOK like the real Mandarin, because just for arguments sake Killian got a hold of real footage of the real mandarine [the footage we see in the TV clips] and gave Trevor plastic surgery [which Trevor said they gave him]. So on that note we will get the figure at some point, just not until Marvel shows who the REAL Mandarine is.

^ I would love it if that were the case. I personally thought Trevor was hilarious and a great way to avoid the very un-PC nature of the comic book Mandarin.
On a side note, Don Cheadle is credited as War Machine in the cast list for AOU, so I'd say there's a pretty good chance he's in the movie and will likely get another figure. It's also equally possible that if he does get another figure, it will be a redeco of an existing WM toy.
