I'm guessing they didn't spring for Adidas, what with keeping the feet offscreen

Why would they spring for Adidas when they barely spring for sculpt??

These highlight what I hate about this format. These are not “retro.” Just about everything in the 5poa format back in the ‘78-85 salad days, except maybe Tomland Starroid Raiders or other knockoffs, had better and more detailed sculpting than this overpriced crap. More complex paint apps and tampos as well… these are just basic af.

lol are you kidding? I would agree with you on the Funko Reaction line, that stuff was dog shit. Please find a better sculpt from that era than the three Run DMC figures. Nothing from that time had the fineness in sculpting that Super7's ReAction has.

Mattel's 3 3/4 figures from that time period have better sculpts and even likenesses to the actors. The Reaction movement seems to entirely hinge on that specific period where Kenner were caught completely unaware of the SW phenomenon and had to rush to get something out but not every 3 3/4 figure being produced was lousy sculpting-wise.Mego had some decent sculpts around that time too.

“Fineness in sculpt”!! Sir, can I pretty please try some of that bomb shit from your private stash cuz it is clearly capable of inducing some pretty wild hallucinations. Like literally every line was better than these jonks, they’re about as detailed as Playmobil figures. How bout a little line called Star Wars, how bout BSG, Star Trek TMP, Remco Mini Monsters, literally everything. Ok maybe not Dragonriders of the Styx.

The Fisher-Price Adventure People are generally sharper and more detailed. Mego may have whiffed on the Pocket heroes (imo) but their Star Trek TMP line has pretty darn good likenesses, with the Klingon being a highlight. And of course you've got G.I. Joe

Having a bit of trouble understanding the criticism about the sculpts. yes , Adidas would've been sweet, but saying the face sculpts aren't fairly spot on , is a bit perplexing to me. The Faces look great in my humble opinion.

I’d agree these look like who they’re supposed to look like, which is often not the case with Reaction style figs, but the face sculpts themselves are soft and the rest of the bodies are an even worse kind of soft.
