If 3.75 is going to be done, I think it should be simple, 5 poa, and cheap.

The only line that I'd give an exception to - G.I. Joe Modern Era, if they continue on the PoC era stuff and make it a premium experience.

Mid level mass retail without that premium feel - might as well do 5 POA and cheap.

Before 6 inch was done well for most lines, I would not have said this. But at this point, keep 6 for semi realism, articulation, collection. Keep 3.75 for impluse purchases.

I bought a ton of 5 poa Star Wars stuff since the new movies hit. It's a throw away fun thing, leave em sitting around, give em to kids etc.

I know others may wanna riot at this - I don't understand the TVC stuff, other than being tied into it for years and wanting it to continue because one is invested in the line.

I personally would prefer these style figures for new SW characters so that 70s figs and current characters all look same on shelf. Toss em on retro cards, done.

Anyway, these look great for what they are, and I may grab a few. Agreed that single pack 10 dollar or less would be better.
These might as well not have joints at all. 99% of people are just buying them for the card art.

As for the people complaining about kids not being able to afford these since they're being sold as $20 2-packs, don't you think Hasbro knows that? These are aimed squarely at grown-ass men. Hasbro is well aware that kids exclusively run around all day long with cellphones and tablets shoved up their asses and don't play with toys anymore.
Back in MY day, you ran around with a PDA and pager shoved up your logcutter, and we were grateful to have that!!!!

You nailed it Hasbro. This is exactly what I had in mind whenever I'd hope for new 3.75 Marvel figures.

So they finally bring back 3.75" and it's this?

At least give us characters that are current we don't have like Ms. Marvel. Or designs for these characters we don't already have 200 figures of. Come on.

And that's probably why these aren't on faux Secret Wars cards. The Secret Wars card art was generic throughout the line and people displaying these would probably prefer an exciting, sexy shot of the character on the cards.

AND we had to walk 2 miles to school uphill in the snow in 100 degree weather! Consoles were only 8 bit, 16 if your parents were rich!.

Speaking of log cutters that’s about what these look like. Heck the 90s toybiz X-men line had better sculpt and articulation and came with accessories. Hasbro please bring back the marvel universe line

I'm glad some people are into this retro thing that was started by all those ReAction figures. People seem to enjoy the nostalgia and that's great.

Doesn't change the fact it's all a cheap cashgrab by the companies. Way overcharging on figures that require minimal tooling and assembly by today's standards.

Before people assume the usual: that it's great to have more options, remember that this does have an effect on more expensive-to-make figure at not-that-much-higher pricepoints. If these 5POA figures prove to be much more profitable for companies, they will eventually put out less figures with modern articulations. Profit always comes first.

IMO if they want to do retro figures and charge them at an inflated price, at least do what MOTU Origins and TMNT Ultimates are doing, keeping the vintage aesthetics while providing more modern articulation. Everyone wins.

This line isn't for children. It's for adult collectors who are into retro action figures that we played with when we were kids in the 1970s and 1980s. These exist because of Super7's Reaction line (which means Retro Action) which certain people crapped on years ago when it started but now has flourished into a huge figure line comprised of several hundred figures of every pop culture property under the sun and there are dozens more on the way. They're worth anything from next to nothing to several hundred dollars per item, and it's one of my favorite figure lines.

It's been such a revelation of a line that all these other companies and jumping on the bandwagon. Funko (their multiple 9POA lines), Mezco (5-Points), Hasbro/Kenner (this line, Retro Collection and The Vintage Collection with Star Wars and now the Black Series is starting to use Vintage Collection style cards and boxes for their side series), Bif Bang Pow (which has been doing it as long as if not longer than Super7), and a countless number of indie/boutique retro inspired lines, and then there's that new 5" line that's a Walmart exclusive line for now that is set to capitalize on the 1990s nostalgia since the 90s were all about increasing scale sizes (particularly 5") and I love all of them. It features Cowboy Bebop, Naruto, Guns & Roses, Fullmetal Alchemist, and about a dozen more.

Anyway, not a kid's line. I can see children enjoying it, but it's clearly priced for us adult kids, and I think we need more companies to jump on this trend and feed the machine. I didn't even mention the artwork/cards. They're just perfect and pop.

Not at all what I wanted when I kept asking for Marvel figures in this scale... but I suppose if these don't sell, they'll say that there's no demand for the scale, right?

I like the idea behind this line, especially the retro feel they're going for. I've been wanting a slightly modernized Secret Wars line for years now.

I like the limited points of articulation and the colors and the faithful old-school look, but the designs/sculpts and size are uninspiring.

As it stands, the vintage SW figures look better sculpted and more dynamic to my eyes, and are satisfyingly bigger.

Gonna have to pass on these, much as I hate to say it. Hasbro needs to at least be on par with the vintage figures if they want me to pony up the cash. I would have been all in otherwise.

I see a lot of people complaining about the price point and bundling... it’s $20 for the 2-packs... based on the pixel dan video it seems like the bundles are pulse exclusives in 2020 and then will be sold individually next year (probably at 9.99)... at least that’s how I interpreted it

In the Pixel Dan interview, Spider-Man looked to be smaller than the Mego Pocket Heroes Spider-Man(!) and I have to say, standing there collectively in a lineup they do look pretty sharp. I'd love to see a Hulk, Falcon and Green Goblin in this style.

This sounds like a conversation you may have had a few times given the amount of exposition you've pulled from my toss away statement. A statement that wasn't a disparagement as much as it was an amused observation with a notation on cost.

As someone who actually collected toys in the late seventies and eighties, this style of figure just doesn't appeal to me at all anymore. Actually, even as a kid, the 5POA model was blown out of the water with the introduction of Joe's kung-fu grip. More accurately, even the Micronauts, Black Hole, and Buck Rogers (TV-show) figs preceding Hasbro's Joes spoiled me on Kenner's Star Wars wares.

My tastes in toys, as with most other things, have changed significantly throughout the years. But none of this is to say that adults, like yourself and others, can't enjoy these figs - bully for all that dig this format. However, it's also ok for me to be of the opinion that these toys could function well as jump-off points for kids and that they are slightly overpriced for what they are.

These retro junk toys have become tiresome. Super7 tightened-up their sculpts, material & cardback art to make their ReAction line a success, but these just look kinda cheap & lack flair. Probably will sell with kids, like most other Hasbro product.

I can't think of a single Marvel character whom I would want a figure of that I didn't already get in 1/18th scale through the Marvel Universe line. I can see myself getting a few figures from this line, basically just characters i had as a kid in either the Pocket Heroes or Secret Wars lines, so I hope to see The Hulk, Green Goblin, black Spiderman, and Dr. Doom.

It still costs more than SpinMaster's DC offerings at the same scale and are a better product.

The only characters I personally would have wanted from your list are Ms. Marvel (and I did get my preferred Ms. Marvel in Marvel Universe) and Sauron (The toy-biz X-Men Sauron was good enough for me). So I'm good with what they gave us in Marvel Universe. I'm not saying that I wouldn't welcome more figures, but I dont feel like i have any major holes in my collection.

Fair enough. I just feel it has some gaping issues. Genuinely, Kingpin? And even if not your taste, Ms. Marvel, Gwenpool, Ghost Spider/Spider Gwen, others are mainstays.

Echo, Dormammu, Wong, Ancient One, Clea, Moondragon, Phyla Vell, more just came to me.

If you're not into it, fair enough. But Hasbro is leaving my money on the table, and based on how other brands- Boss Fight, Marauder, GI Joe Retro, Hiya, etc- all seem to point that others would buy more quality or unique items, too.

From what I am seeing, here, in this thread, *this* ain't that.
