These are pretty cool. Are they based on any real stories or just concept figures? Either way, they look good. Interesting interpretations of Batman.

These are based on the current run of the Batman series, "Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne" where Bruce is sent back in time by Darksied's Omega Beams in Final Crisis. It's a six-part miniseries penned by Grant Morrison and drawn by different artist. So for now Dick Grayson dons the mantle of Batman till Bruce makes it back to present time.

This is all according to WIZARD #225 with the new A-Team cover

You know, this sidekick becoming the lead sounds very familiar....hmm wonder where I read this before......?!?!

Oh and according to wizard, there is to be a NOIR detective Bats, so there might be more figures ahead?!?

Much like this series' comic book counterpart, I'm not impressed at all. DC Direct or Mattel really need to get on board and release a Damien/Robin and Dick Grayson/Batman 2 pack.

I like the sculpts but I'd like to see the 4H/Mattel take a stab at these designs.

Seems facepalmworthy. Not to mention they're by DC Direct.

If 4H were sculpting that would've actually swayed me to pick these up. I am looking forward to their take on Legion of Superheroes which, from what I understand, will be next year's running theme for DCUC.

Well, I think what should happen next , at least for a year or two, is that Bruce doesn't don cape and cowl right away and takes on more of a mentor role to the new Batman, like in Batman Beyond.

yeah yeah I too remember those!!! (

This reminds me of the alternate series that DC put out a while back before ZERO HOUR "crisis" having all the main players in different settings, such as catwoman being a were-cat and bruce a knight and how there was a misunderstanding. Then Bruce and Selena fought side by side....wait this theme is sooooo played out between these two. GET A ROOM ALREADY!!!!!

So I guess we agree that Grant Morrison is a hack when it comes to writing Batman stories and that these time -traveling/alternate reality themes have been beaten to death. I read in a recent article in Wizard that he wants to include every facet of Batman's history into the current continuity, that includes the campiness of the 1966 T.V. Series.
I'm sure I'm not alone in saying this, I have much respect for the classic T.V. series it was my first introduction to the character and made me want to read the comics but in no way shape or form should any of it be introduced into the current continuity.

I think you can become a fan of Grant Morrison or friend him on Facebook. I know I am going to and tell him that his overdone, continuity ignoring, is nothing sacred or the least you can do is actually cater to the fans by giving them what they want instead of your own self serving notions of what you think will put you in the same breathe as someone like Alan Moore, writing is terrible.
