Hands are a big plus for sure. I think I need to see it in person before deciding on making a purchase.

Optimus looks great but there is nothing that will ever save the movie rendition of Starscream. That thing looks like crap.

Another Starscream re-paint. That isn't a new character!?
I didn't get the first one, cause it looked horrible.
But when Deep Space came out I got it right away.
but this one...
it should have been a new character re-paint.
But Ironhide looks good!

It's a significant improvement over the first figure, which I liked, so I intend to buy this one. One of my wishes for the ROTF toyline was a more accurate Starscream figure, and that's what we are getting.

Long story short, the movie Starscream design was one I hated enormously, but ended liking steadily as time went on.

The thing about Movie1 Starscream is that I love, love his bot mode, and his jet mode just gets an "eh" from me. With this, while the jetmode is certainly improved, his botmode gives me the frowns. I hope it's just a case of blatantly awful transformation and posing. While it's nice to have a jetmode that's more streamlined, I'd hope they wouldn't compromise the bot mode so much. This isn't macross where people buy a transforming fig to never actually transform it out of jet mode; bot mode is probably where 95% of transformers spend their time.

Good comparison in the following image(the box one might actually be mistransformed, however the following image is not warped like the first closeup shots):

Glad to see they gave him real hands. About the only thing I hated on the original Movie Starscream were those damn missile-hands. On mine, they would fire just by looking at them and I'd have to go missile hunting again.

I'm tempted to pick this one up and sell off my old one.

Not fond of the body design, though the new arms are excellent and the jet mode is a big improvement.

The non-squashed photo looks a sight better, but hopefully the wings that are popping up on his shoulders can fold back a bit, or something. It may just be me, but I liked the more cohesive look of the V1.

I happen to think the botmode on the original Moviescream looks just fine .

It's not a repaint, it's an entirely new mold.
