Hey everyone. I just wanted to share this brand new Rhino figure I got today. I had seen images of this figure back in December, so I was waiting to finally find a Rhino to add to my MU-scale collection of Spidey villains. This guy was hard to find though. Between Walmart, K-Mart, Target, and ToysRUs, I was only able to find one of these at ToysRUs.

If I'm not mistaken, this Rhino resembles the Ultimate Spider-Man version of the character. It belongs to the 2010 "Spider-Man" line of figures, wave 2, I believe. So far, the variety in quality for this new Spider-Man line has been...well, irritating to say the least. Ironically, the villains have been the best looking figures in this line (minus some articulation).

Rhino himself has some pretty nice articulation. No knee, foot, or wrist articulation, but everything else has some decent movement. I especially like that his head joint swivels all the way up, allowing him to curse the heavens for his misfortunes. What gets me the most tho is the level of detail in the sculpt. This thing is beautifully scultped and painted compared to the other figures in this line. He's also a great size in comparison with my MU Spidey figures. The figure comes with 6 pieces of "snap-on battle armor" (2 shoulder pads, 2 gauntlets, and 2 knee pads). Unfortunately, they're lacking some of that "snap" factor. The pieces more or less "hang off" the figure rather than snap on. This might be a good chance to experiment with magnets, hehe.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this little guy. It fits right in with my MU characters, and its really a nicely detailed figure in its own rite.

Beautiful figure and honestly if it had knees, I'd buy it. This is one of the best sculpts in the line.

Ooh, so wave 2 is hitting now? Haven't seen it here in Mass yet. I finally picked up all of wave 1 about a week ago, including both versions of Venom.

Yea, I saw a few tongued Venoms today too. I really wish the black costume Spidey in this line had waste articulation...

I don't understand it, the best figures in the line have severely hindered articulation. Odd thinking there.

He looks like he wants to be Armadillo. I might have to pick up an extra and do a little work on it.

That's exactly what I thought! Why make the effort for detail without including articulation?!

This line is geared toward children. So whether or not that means a) they don't put enough effort into it, b) they want to lessen the amount of places the figure can break, or c) both, who knows.

But figures like this or the cartoon figure lines (W&XM, IM: AA) simply aren't made for us. I still think they look cool on display though.

This one looks especially good on display!

Yea, I can see your point. Too bad, cuz the "super-poseable" Spidey in this line is pretty good.

Yea, unfortunately, it's pretty hard to find. Online would be the best bet.

Wow, I had no clue when these came out. I thought they were new.

I saw him last night and I got him off of the look of the character sculpt and had read no reviews, I don't know why people are saying this figure isn't great.

I think he is the first version of the Rhino that actually will make the charging pose, The Marvel Legends version had leg articulation and because the head didn't go down he couldn't.

I was a tad dissapointed with the lack of leg articulation and the armor stability.

But if you take in to consideration that they sculpted the "holes" into the skin so that whn the armor is off it doesn't have those horrible pin holes without the armor.

Also, the paint and sculpt on this guy imo is better than the ML.

I'm sold so long as he can do iconic poses.

Which as seen above. He can!

So he's a must buy now. Not like he had many poses to do anyway. xD

Hopefully, the Lizard, if they make him will be as detailed and will look like he used to not that weird Chameleon thing in that one toy line.

Is anyone interested in those cards that came with the figure?

I found one today; I was getting worried because the rest of the line doesn't seem to be moving too quickly.

I have started to see the other figures from the 2nd wave but no Rhino. I picked up a couple the other day but passed on Doc Occ... his paint apps wer horrible (both locations). If I come across a Rhino, I will have to have.
