I had some packages delivered today and could not remember what one of them was. I was worried about the contents inside due to the condition of the box. So, I snapped a few photos before opening in case I needed to initiate a return:

I was hoping it was a classic "Not enough padding on both sides of the box but the contents are still OK." situation. It wasn't. I opened it up and it turned out to be MOTUC 2.0 He-Man. Box destroyed. I'm not pissed over the value or fact that it's not some derpy term like "Gem Mint" *PUKE*. It's the fact that Matty continues to use Digital River. I want to be clear that I fully understand that this is a First World Problem and life will go on. It's more the principle of the matter.

I was charged 11.59 to ship this figure from California to Ohio using USPS Parcel Select. It took seven days to get here. They used a carrier named Newgistics. There was absolutely no protection inside the shipping box, as it is just barely large enough to hold the packaged figure. There also does not seem to be much, or any, protection in the figure's packaging. Needless to say, I didn't open it. He-Man does look kind of funny with the packaging all smashed up and stuck inside. It's like the action figure equivalent of a car wreck that will require the Jaws of Life. At least there is truly always humor in most things.

For me, this is unacceptable at the price. Not to mention this is a Premium Sub Adult Collector Yadda Yadda Yadda line as Matty likes to say.

I've bought and sold items all over the world for over twenty years. There is no way that this is the type of service I should get for 11.59 through a Sub Line. I've shipped plenty of packages just as far within the past six months quicker and cheaper. Even with eBay and Pay-Pal fees tacked on.

Matty and DR, this is lame.

That's unacceptable no matter what it was, who it was from, or how much it's worth. No carrier system should even allow that to happen.

And people wonder why I refuse to buy from Matty Collector. In fact, there was a discussion in another topic where I was discussing this very issue. you shoudl post this image there.

I got my He-Man in today as well and was surprised at the zero amount of padding or cushioning in the box. Luckily I only suffered a small corner dent and not utter decimation... serious bullsh*t man, they better hook you up somehow (but given it's Matty and DR, probably not).

I agree that whomever packed the item is definitely partially to blame, but also the carrier who delivered it has to take some too. I wonder if delivery companies policy is "shit happens to packages, we are not at fault if outside box is crushed and inside content is damaged if the shipper didn't pack it right"

Maybe when packing your item skeletors minions attacked and the packing guy fought them off but after the battle was too tired to get a new one put into a box properly.

I don't buy anything from Matty/DR anymore, because the items are way overpriced, the shipping is way overpriced and slow, and customer service is garbage in general.

But with that said, this looks like a shipping carrier issue. Somebody went to torn on that box. Some packing peanuts would not have helped.

Wow. Just wow.

I've been a Club Eternia member since 2009. Not to mention all the mini-subs as well. I finally dropped it for this year because I was just so darned tired of Digital River. It's because of them that I'm having trouble signing on to the new Thundercats sub.
