I don't think they are super fragile. I had one breakage, on one hand. The joint was tight, I wasn't thinking, snapped at the peg, which is tiny because the wrist socket is tiny due to design.

I was able to move him around other wise no problem. The ankle joints are loose for me, but didn't break.

They are on par with other DCC, NECA, Play Arts like figures. Be gentle, pay attention at first move of each joint, have some crazy glue handy in case, and you should be fine.

They are absolutely fragile. People have had figures break from simply removing them from the package.

And this is not a new developement. DCC's plastic has always been on the fragile side, but these figures, in part due to the nature of their designs, are incredibly thin.

I'm not discounting others statements, only speaking from my personal experience. I've interacted with Batman and Catwoman, one snap. Both run thru pretty hard for the photo sessions. For every pose in the gallery, there's countless others I either didn't shoot or shot and dumped. I've had probably 25-30% of my DCC's break this year, so I'm not arguing that either. But for here, I'd say they're on par with non-mass-market collector figures, IMHO.

Great pics! Catwoman is definitely my favorite out of what has been revealed so far.

I bought two each of Batman and Catwoman (and sadly had to sell one set, so mine are MOC instead of having one to open and one to leave sealed) and there's something I noticed about Catwoman that is worth noting:

The one I kept had perfect paint apps on the eyes, but the extra one's were way off from where they were supposed to go. They were partially painted on the sculpted eyelashes, while the eyelashes were above the sculpted area. This may or may not be a common problem, but if you order online then I would say it's a bit of a gamble. It wasn't all that noticeable until I looked up close, she just looked a little sleepier than the other one. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have ever seen it if I hadn't been looking at two of them side-by-side.

Not quite as noticeable as the Hitler 'stache issue on some of the Batmans, anyway.

Considering the extremely smooth, streamlined nature of artist Bruce Timm's character designs, with those tiny wrists and ankles, it's a wonder that DCC approved design and production of a set of figures with any articulation at all. It's a very ambitious decision, to come up with a way for those joints to move and swivel (at least a little) without spoiling the appearance of the figure. DCC deserves credit at least for trying and generally succeeding. The holes, gaps and fissures could be a lot worse.

Yup. A lot of people canceled their pre-orders once these were shown to have those holes near the hips, but... I don't even really notice them. Plus, I mean... they're not statues. These things have articulated joints, and I don't expect them to be invisible.

These things look great to me. Fragility aside, these are the toys I wanted when I was a kid watching BTAS on tv.

Yeah, I think I have action figure blindness, I tend to selectively ignore the joint cuts and holes etc at this point. I'm happy with the balance of look and functionality here.

these figures are beautiful. the good definitely outweighs the bad for me.

i'm used to seeing joints, so it's really no big deal.. i much rather have them and see them rather than not having them.

i just really love the style and the nostalgia factor is blown right through the roof.

Honestly, how many figures are there with no visible pose joints? Even toys I have with some hidden joints still have some visible ones too.

I just got the Two-Face earlier today and he is great, but yeah they should have done something to hide the pins. His hip pins blend in better than Batman or Catwoman's because they are either black or white, not grey like the heroes. Mr. Freeze's are like Two-Face's, dark enough to make them blend better.

I have to admit, I was disappointed with the initial reveal of BTAS Batman when I saw his cape was "pulled" back instead of fully draped over the shoulders, but seeing that TNBA Bats comes with two capes makes me happy.

I passed on the New Adventures Batman because I heard all these complaints of it breaking at the ankle, even before being opened in some instances. If DCC fixed those problems, which I guess they did since my Two-Face is most excellent, then I'll happily get the original Batman. He will hopefully have alternate capes as well as a slew of other cool accessories.

Bought Catwoman from my LCS and used hair dryer to take her out just incase. Everything came out fine. For Wave 4 is Penguin or Batgirl the TAS figure?

The more I read the more it seems only Batman has issues, Two-Face just came out when I untied him and I've said before he's fantastic in hand.
Regarding your question, Penguin is definitely his original design, Batgirl is New Adventures, and Riddler is also using the original design.

Michael Crawford had his Catwoman's arm snap off at the elbow before he could finish his review, and tons of people over at the Fwoosh forums mention her arms and legs breaking. Not as common as Batman's problems, but it still happens.

I do have faith that they'll get the issues straightened out. This can't possibly be good for business.

Firstly, it's great for business! Make your consumers buy five of one toy just to get one that doesn't break, pure unfiltered pulp free 100% marketing genius I say! Secondly, I didn't know Catwoman had any breakage issues but clearly that's all part of their master plan to make you buy more. I have yet to hear about any Two-Face issues and none of the three reviews I checked had problems, but that's because Two-Face isn't as popular as Batman or Catwoman so they don't need the people to buy more than one just to get it right! Holy shit we've had it wrong all along. DCC isn't bad at making good toys for us to buy, they're great at making busted toys for us to buy.

All joking aside I do quite like all of their figures that I have, but these are some serious and all too common issues that should have been better looked into.

hmmmm bit scared to buy something worth the average of an marvel legends figure which breaks though i did love the animated series...
I hope they are releasing these figures to make money so perhaps they can make a blu-ray collection of the animated series, or fund young justice [ a man can dream]

I watched ShartimusPrime reviews and he mentioned overs who had issues like the ankle, he also recommended to heat the figures in his cat woman review, with a hair dryer to make sure the joints don't break. I guess shipping the plastic over the winter might of made it brittle thus having issues on smaller joints, so it might need a bit of warmth. depending on how they send it I'm guessing by air mail i dunno, So this might not be on purpose they thought when in production we should you plastic X because its cheap and reliable [coughs].
