Some nice stuff there!

I am going to pick up the 1/100 Roy VF-1S and strike parts.

I talked to Mike at Digital toys about ordering separately, as a few places I have looked only have an option to order the set.

He told me that when they arrive in stock, there will be separate listings for both the figures and the add on parts, which is good for me, as I only want the Roy Focker version.

I found a 1/100 Roy and Strike parts from the 2006 Toynami series. Am I better waiting for the re release of those coming soon?

They look identical, boxes and all, I am just wondering if there were improvements, or are these just reissues?

I read something about the gun handle getting an update, making it hold in place better (read: better poseability), and the stand is a little better.

I may pull the trigger on a set, either the set I have lined up, or the new ones coming out out in a few months.

Hey OS...is the re-release one the same as the one in the set that's on BBTS for pre-order?...or are you talking bout something else?....

I was able to get all of the 1/100ths from a seller on ePay....but Roy....seller was all out of him, so I pre-ordered that set on BBTS...

Yes. they look identical to the 2006 ones I found online. I wonder if the price of the originals would drop in favor of new ones expensive, man. Its Roy...link
But, I can get 3 new ones for $60. And $30 or 40 more for armour, not bad. Just need to wait. Which I am leaning toward waiting.

the in stock are series one are the older ones.

I like the set for $75...I might get this, then sell the others, as these are the packs with armour included:

Are there improvements on the newer ones then?....

I've read some stories about the gun handle/attachment and the attachment on the stand that comes with....

Is it that these issues have been addressed that makes the newer one more desirable over the older one?....or is it something else that I am unaware of?

I'm sure you wouldn't have any problems selling the other two

The issues that remain to be addressed are the hinges, which can crack over time. Series 2 is significantly tighter than series 1, which is good because some parts were floppy on series 1 toys, however despite the increase in quality in series 2, some of the hinges and insertion points are still prone to cracking. I was honestly very surprised to find this on my VF-1J Max type.

Can some of the old kitbashing and customizing tricks be used to remedy the floppiness of these joints?....what about the cracking joints?

These say series 4: 1/100 Scale Transformable Action Figures Series 4 - Set of 3 - Macross Figures at BigBadToyStore

Are they just the series 2 with Armour?

I don't see any difference with the set of 3 without strike parts, and they are preorder for series 2.

ah...yeah, I only look for Roy. I did not even think those are different. I see they are...so is version 4 upgraded? ahem, Shin? lil help?

So, anyone want in on the other two I won't need? Ben Dixon or Hikaru?

See attached image

Im guessing from BBTS with shipping, like, $33 apiece, shipped to the US. (I would ship to you from here, once they come in to me from BBTS)

We need a Macross discussion thread...

This thread is for discussion about Toynami's 1/100 scale Macross VF-1 Valkyrie line. The current wave features bundled figures w/FAST pack armor, and the armor is also available separately. Future releases include GPS-1 armor, zentraedi battle pods, and possibly the TV VF-1A Max Type(never before made as a transformable production toy).
