That's the problem. I've had that figure sitting around for 6 months because of the stupid arm cannon. First I sculpted one, but I didn't like it because it needs to be clear like the rest of the figure. Then I used a clear plastic tube, drilled holes in it, and painted with clear orange. Didn't look right. Then I tried using the tube to form a cannon with hot glue. Looked sloppy. Tried again, still looked sloppy. Now all I can think of is using the arm cannon from the old Toy Biz Ninja Force Nemesis figure. I just haven't found a cheap one yet.

				 | Quote: so I'll make a nice Kree instead! I already have an extra Yellowjacket and Guardian to make two more Kree with different builds...I'll probably make them different branches of the military- different colors on the uniform instead of the standard white/green Centurian look. Thanks for the Morph tip- I'll be looking for that! Last edited by Jason Abbadon; 02-14-2012 at 11:16 AM.. |

That's X-force Warpath with Samson arms from the biceps down and Commander Rogers hands. Quote: Thanks! That was my first attempt at a dio in years and I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. I've got my Red She-Hulk and white costume Iron Fist hanging out on it now for my Defenders display. Jason, I can't wait to see your Kree soldiers! Be sure to post them! I still can't get over that Black Knight. Unreal.

Thanks, man. But here's the thing about my customs: I usually only do them if they're gonna be pretty easy. Not much skill required. All you need are the right parts and a little patience doing the painting. I keep sculpting to a minimum, and I hate paint rub on the joints, so I only use parts with joints I won't have to paint. If I can't get around it, I'll just use dye like I did with that Black Panther. The point is, anybody could take one of my recipes, use the same parts and paints I did, and come out with something pretty similar. If you ever want a recipe or want me to explain a trick I used, just let me know!

				 | Quote: The Kree will happen soon though- I love that you went with blue skin on yours- I'm totally doing the same after seeing how good that looks! I think I'll go with silver instead of classic white on the uniform though- making mine more like the Captain Marvel comic from a few years back. Michaels art stores has some kickass metalic colors that bond perfectly to MU figs and dry with no tackiness and I'm useing them on anything I can- I just converted all my Iron Man figs to gold instead of that yellow plastic they came in. Maybe do a Kree in silver and metalic green? |

I'd like to know the details on that metallic paint too, Jason. It might work out better than what I'm currently using. I paint a silver base coat and then put a Tamiya clear color on top.

DecoArt Dazzling Metallics. I use Emporer's Gold for Iron Man's bright gold and Folk Art brand Metallic Blue Sapphire for Talon. Both are acrylics- a buck a pop- and dry perfectly on figs with no primer and levels nicely with no brush strokes at all (apply with a squate tip brush). |

Jason, I made a Dormammu, but it was a pitiful attempt and will never be shown on this forum. Eventually I'll try again and hopefully get it right. Here are a couple of new ones. Well, the Exiles-inspired Forge is kind of new. I've tweaked him a little. I'm pretty pleased with how Blink turned out; I'm waiting on the old Toybiz Blink's quiver and javelins to really complete her.

Thanks, Pete and Jason! Blink is Ms. Marvel with a Star Wars comic pack Jarael head (or, a cast from Onyx Phoenix) and waist thingy from Star Wars Dark Woman. Hands are from Pirates of the Caribbean figure. The collar and boot cuffs were sculpted with Milliput.

Fantastic stuff man, I'll be looking at these for inspiration. I really like that Magik, I always thought that Widow head (haircut) would be great for her.

				 | Quote: Yep, that's Bug from the Micronauts. He somehow ended up in a Kree prison, where he met up with Star-Lord and eventually ended up in the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Well, that's my "Holy shit!" moment for the day. Can you tell me how you made Bug? He's really really fantastic- your best custom in my opinion- just exceptional. Great Magik too- I'm going with that hair and a Ventress head on an X-23 body for mine- less busty, more evil. |
