So The Avengers line should be replacing the Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor lines which won't go past 2011. I assume all the work from those three lines will go into making The Avengers line at least the size of the Iron Man 2 line.

Some more possibilities, however:

I'm also hoping to see announcements for a line based on the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon coming out this fall and finally a line based on The Avengers cartoon. USM could replace the current Spider-Man line, as I doubt they would have both going at the same time, while The Avengers would probably be a small line like Wolverine and the X-Men or Iron Man: Armored Adventures.

Speaking of, IM:AA, season 2 just started but there doesn't seem to be much fanfare about it. I doubt Hasbro will be doing a second wave after all this time.

Finally, Ghost Rider 2 is due in theaters in February. I think Hasbro would be able to pull off a smaller Thor-esque line for it. Would be neat to see some comic Ghost Rider figures we'd never get in MU.

SDCC OR/AND NYCC are on my bucketlist of things to do 1 day and it will be done eventually, until then I just read updates, watch videos and try to maybe afford the odd thing that makes it retail or to online market. Great to hear the launch of ML again and the masterworks figure would be cool if it was FFF as I missed the wave in ML, and the new waves are looking better and better... My wallet, display case and mind can't handle all the awesomeness. Not sure what is easier/better trying to collect all the old stuff and worry about the new stuff later or get both... meh toys are fun ha.

Another big ol' masterpiece figure. Am I the only one that would want a High Evolutionary figure packed with Reed Richards in FF costume?
Supplement with Thing, Sue and Spidey in a FF box-set. Wham!

Yes sir. I already pre-ordered mine from what seems to be a reputable seller on eBay, along with Swamp Thing, Voltron and the MU Sentinel. Here's hoping they come through!!!!!

That's what I did for the Marshmellow man. I was going to chance it on Matty.com after the con, but after shipping this big guy I only see myself saving $20-$30, which isn't worth the Matty Day hassle,.. and risk of not getting one. Because God knows I can't risk not owning a 2ft tall 80's monster.

lol That was exactly my thought process. I missed Sgt. Slaughter last year and was pissed!!! I vowed to never chance it again. I know Mattycollector.com is gonna be a nightmare after the con.

Alas, the 23rd is my girlfriend and mine's anniversary, with the time difference it'll be about 10pm here, just about the time we get back from a 'romantic' meal.

I'm thinking that checking what's being announced at SDCC online won't go down too well. Just a hunch.......

If only I'd asked her out a week earlier :-)

If they announce a FFF figure that would be sweet!!!

what you need is a smart phone. go out for a big romantic meal, excuse yourself to the restroom for a few minutes, wipe out the smart phone and look up whats announced. then come back very excited

I can just picture the scene - another customer goes to use the bathroom and finds himself slightly distracted by very loud cries of 'YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!' and 'FIN FANG FOOM - WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!' coming from a cubicle.

Sadly I don't have a smartphone!

NO!!! No more Fantastic Four figures. They had their run, we got a Sue Storm, unless they're doing a John Byrne costume, I don't want any more FFs. There are already 4 Thing figures, 4 Human Torches and 2 Mr. Fantastics, countless Spider-Man figures.

You'll have to catch the recap online like a lot of us will, I'm going to a huottub party that night, so I will be well beyond intoxicated, and unable to view the screen on my smartphone, lol, no rush I'm not attending so I can wait.

I wouldn't be so sure about seeing a lot of the Avengers line at SDCC. That may be saved for Toy Fair of next year. I'm sure a sneak-peak or two will be shown at least, though.

Also don't expect the Avengers line to be that big (in terms of amount of product), as I'm betting the lingering IM2 pegwarmers, lackluster performance of Thor, and middling performance (so far) of Captain America aren't exactly going to convince retailers to "stock up" on Avengers. At this point, I'll be betting on a line about the size of Captain America's. I'll be REALLY surprised if it reaches Iron Man 2 levels.

Heck, I bet G.I. Joe 2 gets a bigger "push" toy-wise next year. Even more galling? I bet "The Amazing Spider Man" (Reboot movie) gets a bigger line than The Avengers.

A Ghost Rider 2 line would be a nice surprise, but they may pull an X-Men: First Class with that one, because as far as I know, Ghost Rider 2 hasn't even filmed yet.

New giant sized figure? I wouldn't be so sure yet. Galactus is still shelfwarming. Plenty of possibilities if they continue that line, though.

I don't want to be that guy that argues about this stuff on a forum (i'm looking at you comic book hype forums!) but High Evolutionary is one of those "no fixed height" characters. He might be better suited to a Goliath/Frost Giant scale.
I'm basing this on the Annhilition War story and the recent Silver Sufer mini-series.
And the first image that pops up on his Wiki page! Arf!

The High Evolutionary can be whatever size he darn well wants to be- he's enlarged himself to kick Diabo's ass in the recent Iron Man/Thor miniseries.

But not normally so big, no.
We need a great MU fig of him though!

I'd hope for a nice Kang and Growing Man or Ronan and Kree Sentry two pack!

ok, i havent really posted any real reaction yet other than updating my top 10. I was thinking new thread, but that would seem conceited. I went to a casino on saturday during the press conference, and while I was losing my money, I actually stopped everything, exited the casino, sat in the car with the AC on, and read the press conference on my phone live. so here goes. I'll skip the movie stuff cause its a given

- Marvel Universe had a very strong year. I have to somewhat call BS on this. While its true they are selling, they arent selling in my area. I've yet to physically see any wave beyond 2011 wave 1 in retail, only aquiring wave 2 and 3 through the internet. half of my walmarts continue to not even carry MU, as does all of my Toysrus's. I was very pleased today, however, when I walked into Target, saw a whopping 8 pegs devoted to Marvel Universe, with a good selection of figures, including the thanos wave. the comic pack pegs werent that packed, and I saw the cap comic packs but not in an abundance. makes me feel happy that there is a good upswing coming for Dayton Ohio. anyway

- 2012 Figure assortments. Holy Crap was this awesome. Hasbro delivered big time! While my two personal top 2's, Rogue and Ares, were conspiquious, there is still time for them. But man oh man. Beast, Hulk, Beta Ray Bill, Kraven, Kang, Scarlet Witch, Nighthawk, Nova, Puck, Hercules, Jubilee. These got me excited, but not as excited as I was for SHEHULK AND PUNISHER. I have complained and complained about how terrible the Punishers we've gotten were. Just TERRIBLE. But this new one....COMPLETEL REDEEMS HASBRO. He had Holsters, He had a Knife Holster, His hands werent Gigantic, everything was proportioned perfectly. If he has a peg hole in his back so I can mount GIJoe weapons on him I will personally find the president of Hasbro's Marvel Division and Kiss Him, With Tongues.
Then theres Shehulk. THANK YOU HASBRO. Finally a Tall Muscle Woman Mold! Shehulks mold is the beginning of a large influx of female figures. Lyra, Thundra, Titania, Red Shehulk, F4 Shehulk, Anaconda, the list goes on and on!

- Fin Fang Foom Masterworks. If you'll scroll up, You'll see I totally called this one. Marvel has super tall characters, but not that many that could really qualify for a masterworks. The fact that Fin Fang Foom appears to be mostly a new sculpt, makes me very happy, but he's not green. Orange Foom isnt really foom but the Midgard Serpent in disguise. So wheres the green foom? Needless to say, this saves me money as I was going to buy a fin fang foom from ebay but you know how those prices are. now I can get one retail

- Marvel Legends : Now I know I've gone on the record to say ML scares me as a MU collector, cause I'm afraid it would take resources out of MU. Not anymore. MU had a very strong showing that made me very happy. So I was looking at ML, thinking about my past days as an ML Collector before I quit after the brood wave, and 2 thoughts came to mind. well 3 if you count the "Hasbro needs to shrink that hope for MU NOW". That Arnim Zola....isnt really that big. for a BAF, he's normal size. Kinda depresses me as I always thought the BAFs should be the larger characters, though we had crossbones and such...But thats not my real gripe. my real gripe is that from the getgo for ML, Hasbro is already reusing molds. Even worse, they arent even trying to hide it with webgear or anything. Wave 1 Ironman, the Extremis Ironman, is just a repaint of the same figure availible in the Ironman Avengers 6inch line. Same figure, same concept, just a different shade of red or gold. Thats pretty lame to start out like that. Same figures on the shelf, which one is the parent going to buy? the cheaper Avengers Ironman figure.

- Q&A. Man did that suck this year. I wanted to hear about things like distribution and stuff. People need to ask the good questions for once. The only real answer I wanted to hear was about hasbro toy shop's lame bulk shipments.

and Just to clarify somthing I just said about it being a new mold, I'm looking at the FFF from the hasbro display, and the ML one, and I'm finding a lot of differences other than the obvious face.

Masterworks one's tail seems much more curved, his hands are completely new cause those finger nails are HUGe compared to the original. I'm noticing some difference in the scales for the upper torse. Lower torso of course has the button and sound holes. the Wings are completely different, as the new one has much more elongated tooth at the top center. thats about it
