The best one is in Fashion Valley Mall.

Does anyone know what the exclusives lines are like on Preview night?

I'd really like to spend that night meeting artists and writers and scoping the whole floor out, but if it's a difference of 3+ hours of line waiting for exclusives, I may be convinced to hit it on Wed.

Anyone?

I'm debating that myself pete. Last year, I didn't want to waste my preview night in the hasbro line and wanted to walk the floor first. This year is a different story. I'm really considering trying to get down there early to pick up my 4 day pass then pick up my time slot hasbro pass, then off to the hasbro line. I'm even wondering if they would be handing out time slot passes on wed considering that the floor is only open for a couple of hours. You want to meet up on wed?

I think so, I just worry that we'll waste the non-crowded Preview Night waiting in line outside of the floor.

There was some stuff I wanted to try to do last year, and didn't realize that Preview Night was my only chance to do it (picture in the Walking Dead booth being one of them). The rest of the times, the lines were too long to do the little stuff.

I did get to have Robert Kirkman sign my Walking Dead stuff, and met the iFanboy guys on the floor. Man, I wish the preview night was a whole day!

Hard to decide what's the bigger time saver, Exclusives the first night or the first morning.

Anyone ever try to wait in line for exclusives twice? I imagine someone last year went through twice buying the Starscream/Cobra Commander set each time. Did they scan our badges so we could only go once?

I think you can only buy from the hasbro stand once per day. They stamped my pass.

Yeah I see your point on choosing where to spend the most out of our time. We'll see. I'm going to try to get there early on preview night and decide. I might just jump in the hasbro line if its not too long. If out is, there would be no point in standing in that line when I've only got a couple of hours to spend.

I seem to remember that they processed everyone in line at the Hasbro booth on Preview night last year.

I remember being bummed they weren't still selling at the end (capped the line?) of the night, and made it my goal to hit that first thing Thurs. Of course, I only got there maybe an hour before it opened Thurs morning, so I was pretty far back in line to start with, and then I went into the main floor first rather than knowing there was a line to get a ticket to get in line. So that's all probably part of the reason why I was in line for almost 6 hours total Thursday morning last year.

It's gonna be tough to decide about Wednesday. I'd rather stand in line with Arkers than by myself, but I don't know if we can pre-decide when to go...

Fashion Valley used to be the best because they let you bring in whatever outside food and drink you wanted. AMC put an end to that right before I moved.

I think preview night will have a lot less people this year as didn't offer the discounts and really tried to focus on selling individual days. Might be worth a try. I only got Thursday/Friday myself and I think I'm just going to try and go early Thursday morning but I'll have to see once the final schedule comes out.

I am not terribly active on ToyArk (I post a ton on TFW2005) but I'll be there. Not that anyone cares I guess.

Edit: By the way I have an extra badge. I bought 3 and my brother can't go. I don't know what the logistics are for pickig up a badge under his name though. All three badges were ordered under my account/ID because I am a registered industry professional, so I didn't have to do the member ID for both of my brothers, just myself.

Anyone know if I can sell this badge to anyone? I know the con staff would say it's strictly prohibited. IF we don't get caught then I don't care. >

Not sure about that one. Did they make you put in names for the other badges when you purchased them?

We'll all likely be in line thurs morning, since we're still not sure if it pays to spend your precious preview night time on this one.

I mostly loved the fashion one because you could bring in the lovely Cinnabon from next door. Now THAT was good movie food...

Everyone cares, dude. We're all glad to have more Arkers in the line, even if you don't post here often, it's cool.

I think your only drawback is going to be he name associated with the pass. The person picking it up is going to have to have an ID with the same name on it...

Yeah I figured. I just thought that for professionals the rules were a bit different and that since they were all registered attached to my pass I was maybe able to get them all (since they also didn't have to created member IDs). Oh well. Lost cash sucks

We always used to make a huge Del Taco run before going to midnight showings. Tacos and Quesadillas are where it's at. Or a chile relleno burrito from El Portal.

Also, have you ever heard the Louis CK take on Cinnabon?

Anyone know if you can take a comic con shuttle bus if you just walk to the stop even if you aren't staying at one of their hotels? I found a hotel in mission valley for cheap and it's right by one of the Con hotel charter stops. Can't remember how it worked last year when I WAS at a con hotel downtown.

I think you can still try. At least plan on picking it up with the others, and see if anyone needs a pass up until then. I'm sure someone can work it out with you if there isn't too much trouble.

Seems worth a shot to me, anyway.

Of course! Much like Gaffigan, the man knows the truth when it comes to food.

You absolutely can. I don't even think they check your badge, really. And now that they're running 24 hours, expect to see some Gaslamp partiers partaking of the free ride downtown after hours (I bet).

Is anyone buying that 4' long Hellicarrier? If so how are you getting it home if you don't live in California?

I'll buy it probably. As long as the packaging is MU and not like the Avengers one.

I'm driving out to Cali, so I'll be driving it home. I've heard they have the FedEx booth in the convention center so you can ship things home immediately, but I've also heard it's quite expensive...

Yeah Horton Plaza is definitely not my preferred theater, I only mentioned it because of its proximity to the con.

This seriously might be the best SDCC exclusive lineup Hasbro has ever had. I can't remember being so concerned with getting in that line ever. I have gotten in the line during the year with the exclusive Alternators Hot Rod...only to find out he was sold out for the day once I got to the counter. If that happens to me this year I might just get kicked out for trying to jump the counter and jack my exclusives, lol.

No because I only go one day every year on Friday. I was pissed. Mostly because I waisted all that damn time for nothing.

Yes you can buy from Hasbro on Preview night, Symbiote can confirm this from experience. No its not any better at all.

I'm just thinking I'd rather get in line Wednesday night and get it out of the way for my one trip through, then have the rest of the week to enjoy the actual show. I just have to know where to run/race on Wednesday.

Dark Knight isn't released until the 20th of July.

The only benefit of doing it that night is to not stand in the first line where you normally get your time slot ticket, which could take 2-3 hours on its own. I believe that they can't do this considering that the preview night is only a couple of hours but I could be wrong. They would be dicks if they did time slots for each hour.

What time does the floor open up on preview night? I'm going to jet here from work to pick up my 4 day pass then hit up the floor.

Trainwreck and Pete: what time are you guys planning on being around the con?

That's a good question. I think I can pick up my pass at 4 on Wednesday at the convention center, so maybe I'll just hang out there until they open.

One of my problems last year was that I didn't know there was a line for the tickets to get in line, so I went to the Hasbro booth first thing in the morning, then had to go find the tickets line. I really don't want to do that again. Maybe we should exchange phone numbers and plan on one going to the booth and one going to the ticket line, and hopping in where ever is right?
