I won't cancel events I have Planned for the same time frame until I know for a fact there's still going to be a problem. Keep in mind even if there is a Vaccine most people wont take it.

They already know it's going to be a problem, hence why events are being cancelled. If you suddenly start large gatherings of people together, then it exacerbates the issue. 100,000 people in close contact, where at least 1% is potentially carrying that virus is recipe for disaster. Cancelling was absolutely the right move.

The CDC just issued a statement that if you really still wanna mingle with scads of potential virus carriers you should go right ahead.

Dude I'm getting married in October and I'm 50/50 if we're going to be able to have it. The earliest I expect anything to feel 'open' would be August and even then I doubt it. There 100% will still be a problem, especially if things are opening up this week. That seems like insanity to me.

Also it's ridiculous to say most people won't take the vaccine. Most people want to live and be able to go about their lives without fear of death.

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/fluvaxview/c...9estimates.htm

For the regular flu shot 2018-2019 62% of children got it and 45% of adults got it. The coronavirus vaccine should be well over 90% whenever one is created. They don't let kids into schools without their other shots, they definitely won't let them in without this one.

Why couldn't they just delay it instead?

Because allot of those toy makers will be releasing their product before another time frame could be assessed. Most factories are back up in China, so things are being made again. Plus there's really no way to know when a full blown crowd of people , especially on this scale, will be permitted this year (if at all). There are allot of unknowns. I think companies are in survival mode, so if stuff can get made, they will likely increase their online presence and operate like that for now.

No sympathies to people asking for trouble like this. The mere fact that many people still think this virus is just a common flu that was "hyped" by the media only shows their stupidity.

"Oh sure, thousands in Italy dying is just made up by the biased media! It's hilarious!"

Time to close this if it's going to just devolve into nonsense. The show's cancelled, stay home, it's not going back to normal any time soon.
