According to Jesse Falcon, Marvel created the property then licensed the action figure option to Remco. The figures hit in 82 and the comics launched in 83 to support. But there were more expansion plans. Marvel put A LOT into it back in the day. Apparently more than any of us realized.

Admittedly, I had no concrete idea how all of this went down until this recent ML reveal. The I got my learn on...let's just say...I may have watched a couple of vids and read some articles. lol

This is the one I liked the most. Six degrees of Glenn Danzig

Haha! Well, a master class in Crystar on a Tues morning it is!

Thanks, man, that was awesome and now I am back onto oversized Warbow with no internal conflicts.

Seeing the commercial again made me cheese hard...

I always loved that Danzig/Crystar connection, first heard of it in Wizard magazine I think.
Michael Golden has attended quite a few cons that I've been to and I've often entertained the thought of asking him what he thought of it but, he radiates strong "stay the fuck away" vibes, so never bothered.

Dude, I didn't know about it until this video. That was just always,"The Danzig skull" to me.
