Bigbadtoystore usually puts a FEW up for preorder, but you'll pay more for it through them. Then again, the shipping is cheaper so it might balance out in the end.

If they follow the pattern they've been following with the renewal releases, the Super pack will be released separately and -only- separately (there won't be a "bundle" version).

They may eventually change their minds and do it differently but so far the "add on packs" have all been separate. Which is nice, not having to buy the same VF over and over again to get the different packs.

Also: Holy crap, did this already go up for preorder and sell out at Anime-Export?

1st round sold out, 2nd round is supposed to be up soon, Amiami already sold out, HLJ hasn't put it up yet.

I dunno if you guys heard, but one site had 200 DX YF-29's on order but Bandai slashed that order down to 5, and this happened just recently, a while after the preorders were locked in.

If anyone is looking for a 29, check the regular Japan sites (amiami, anime-export, HLJ, etc) because retailers have been putting up extras as they come available, but at full MSRP and up. Still, a deal may be found.

As for a bundled pack, I wouldn't hold my breath. Bandai seems to like selling them separate lately. If a bundled were to come out, it probably won't be until next year after Lucas's valk is released, sometime by the end of the year. If they decide to release it at all. And if you can get a preorder in before they sellout again in the blink of an eye. That's a lot of ifs.

I missed out on the stealth black bomber, i hesitated as it looked too chubby to me and it sold out

but i heard its being re-released with the fast packs is it not?? vf-17s

am definitely getting the re-release with fast packs... i prefer the bundled versions

is there a website out there which provides a check list of all 1/60s? be it yamato or bandai

VF-17 will bre re released but not the S. I believe the 17D with fast packs will be released later this year.

If you want a 17S, try here: 30% off retail. Yes I have ordered from these guys and yes they are legit. You can email them for more info. If they don't have it in stock, they'll let you know. Sometimes they don't update the website often enough.

why the hell don't they release this stuff stateside? I mean Macek passed on shouldnt macross be allowed to be a mainstay...lord knows robtoech aint making an 80's like comeback anytime soon?

Macek only worked for Harmony Gold he was never the license holder, that's Harmony Gold itself. Until they let go of the license, things will continue to be the way they are.

Not to mention that given the massive decline in the (paying) anime market in the US in the last few years, the Japanese rights holders vary from day to day as to whether or not they even have any interest in porting the "unseen" Macross series over to the US, and every year that passes by makes the older stuff more and more dated compared to more recent offerings.

And Harmony Gold thinks they have a goldmine on their hands just as long as that Live-action movie gets made. Problem being that the most profitable/recognizable portion of Robotech (Macross Saga) they can't use the familiar designs for in a live action movie, and the big movie studios have no interest in doing a "New Generation" movie (which supposedly is what Harmony Gold has been pushing).
