That's possibly exactly WHY people are reacting. This doesn't look like anything else that's out there. It's not yet another "realistic" looking line of dark fantasy characters or soldiers or robots....

my thinking is that they could have done the effect as something that goes over a normal figures legs. as is, they've made it so he is good for exactly one kind kind of diorama and that's a bummer....
